Sue Gordon Thanks, I was like I just knew it until I tried to type it.
She was gone by this call though right?

Castro is reading from the report and asking if Maguire finds it credible.
Maguire kicks back with "It's not my job to determine if it's credible, it's my job to determine whether it pertains to a member of the IC"

Castro: If your office is not able to investigate the president, then who is?
Maguire: the complaint was referred to DOJ for criminal investigation. It was not swept under the rug.
Castro: Why did your office think the IG should appeal the "urgent" designation to the DOJ?
Maguire: Again, there has never been an IC WB complaint that pertained to someone outside the IC
Castro: Ok but isn't POTUS a member of the IC?

that was really smart from Castro.
The IC is part of the Executive Branch. The president is the head of the Executive Branch. Ergo, the president is part of the IC.

I feel dumb for asking this, but has the call transcript been released to the public or only the whistleblower memo? Trying to save time before I go looking for it if it hasn’t been released for public consumption.

A summary of the call, written by notetakers who were present, has been released, and the document self-identified as such. A word-for-word transcript? No.

since Debbie Lesko isn't on this committee, Ratcliffe is complaining about the WB complaint containing information from press reporting and NOT FOX NEWS

So the official stance is that the WB didn't hear any of this first hand, therefore it's all a lie, blah blah business as usual?

I don't understand the doubling down on "it's second hand information, therefore should never have been of any concern to anyone, and is all wrong and/or a blatant lie." Isn't the point of the whistle blowing laws that it's a see something, say something kind of deal? And the people who saw it said something, and the person they said it to made the report. Are they really thinking the idea of it being a secondhand report of wrongdoing should make it go away?

But they have no ground to stand on here bc the report is really damning, so their only available move is to impeach the credibility of the report

Heck is laying out a pattern of behavior where Trump openly accepts foreign help in his election that totally renders the Republican argument about the veracity of the complaint moot

Maguire: Nope, not gonna be on the business end of a Trump tweet

Tsolmon putting a fine point on the whole hearing up until now. THank you for your service, I understand you were in an absolutely untenable situation, and while I disagree with some of the decisions you made I do not FOR ONE SECOND question your integrity or your intentions.

Welch: Let's say a private citizen had a conversation with a foreign leader and asked that leader to provide dirt on a political opponent. Would that be something you think should be referred to this committee?
Maguire: That wouldn't be within my purview unless that person was a part of the IC

Will the public ever get to see the word for word transcript ornis that now how it works? Goddamn I want to see that smoking gun. Considering that’s one of the things the WB complaint alleges is on the super-secret code word computer, I’m guessing they’ll fight tooth and nail not to release it.

Welch: Ok but isn't securing our elections within your jurisdiction?
Maguire: Yes, but this office can only take action on a member of the IC
Welch: So under that argument, this hypothetical private citizen's actions wouldn't be investigated by ANYONE
JM: Well but it would, it would be investigated by the FBI, and indeed we forwarded the complaint TO the FBI for investigation
PW: But the FBI didn't follow up on it at all
JM: Well, shrug
PW: Maybe it has something to do with the Attorney General himself being a part of the complaint?
JM: Uh. lol, yeah.
