I love Rumi, Sir not so much, but I don't find it awful. I mean... people name their kids Guy. This makes me laugh. This is DHs NN (guy). I'm pretty sure I would have to convince him we are not naming a son Guy, thankfully we are OAD and had a girl.

Bey and Jay are quickly becoming my least favorite people.
Which is very hard for me because I've loved him for the past 20 years

I actually really like the name Rumi.
But Sir...I picture him as an adult, walking into a restaurant or something and him being greeted, like "Hello, Sir...uh, Sir...".

I thought about it for 7 more minutes and I'm really tickled by the name Sir. I think it's great. People will be forced to address him with respect no matter what.

I wonder if Sir will be pronounced more like "Seer". Goes a bit better with Rumi IMO (which I actually love )

I love Rumi. Sir (and other title names) are very much NMS.
Not-really-relevant anecdote: a few years ago I was in Harvard Square when a woman walked up to me and said, "Excuse me, sir. Do you know where the MIT is? I can't hear the word sir without thinking of that and laughing.

I like them. I also just feel like who cares what I think. Maybe a name isn't my taste but I'm not buying into "good" or "bad" names anymore. It's 2017 and if the name can be pronounced and isn't offensive then I'm cool with it. I'm excited by the name variety we might see in the coming years.

The more I say Rumi (in my head, of corset) the more I like it. Sir is NMS.

I don't mind Rumi. I much prefer it to most celebrity names. I really dislike Sir.

And they TRADEMARKED the names?? What does that even mean? No one can name their kid Rumi now?

I wasn't crazy about Blue or North. Now I love them.
I think I will grow to love Sir.

And they TRADEMARKED the names?? What does that even mean? No one can name their kid Rumi now? No, I think it's more in terms of merchandising opportunity. If Rumi grows up and wants to start a clothing line, Rumi Carter(tm) is already reserved for her. OKAY!!! That makes much more sense.

I am testing out Sir on my baby right now.
"Sir, you spit up all over me!"
"Sir, did you poop again?!"

I think the names work for their family and are in the same realm as Blue Ivy. I can't wait until Bey releases some photos.

If Rumi grows up and wants to start a clothing line, Rumi Carter(tm) is already reserved for her. This! It also prevents vultures from taking their kids names and making money off of it.
