Today is Evie's picture day. I stopped at Target on my way home and bought her another shirt, which she agreed to wear, as long as she could take a tank top to change into after school. I straightened her crazy hair, hopefully they take their pictures first, before she turns into a crazy kid. I asked her to smile big, she asked if she should stick her tongue out. Good luck at your first day back to school chrisy01!

Morning.
We left a little later than usual, but still got M to drop off before the bell. However, I forgot M2’s shoes at home, so I had to go back to grab them. Gym and scratching things off my to do list today.

Hi. Nothing much here today. I Have my 36w appt in a bit and then I’ll probably take H to the children’s museum. He has pre-K orientation tonight and N has her first day of dance.

Shit show morning over here. Cadence refuses to cooperate in the morning and always has a "reason" as to why she can't get ready. I gave her a time limit. We didn't make it. Left the house, realized she didn't have her glasses and had to turn around and get them. Luckily, we live close to the school. Got to school and her class was already leaving the cafeteria, so I pushed her towards her class line and she refused to go. Thought it was hilarious. I did not. She keep saying she hates school and doesn't understand why she can't just play all day. BECAUSE I DON'T WANT YOU LIVING WITH ME WHEN YOU'RE 35 AND UNEMPLOYED!!!
Now I'm at work sipping on a Starbucks citrus defender, hoping to finally kick this damn cough.

Morning.
Up and at it early this morning, MH had to leave early and is gone overnight and I’ve got courses today/tomorrow. B was being a shit this morning and teasing J, I lost my shit and told them to work together. I came back from the washroom and B was all dressed in boots and coat and he just finished helping J zip her coat, then in the car was buckling her car seat. I know he can be helpful but why does it take me yelling to remind him. Kids, man
I am very much looking forward to star-fishing in bed tonight with no snoring. Cannot wait.

I signed up for the hot lunch program last night for B. It’s every Tuesday and Friday and there’s a different restaurant scheduled for the days, they’ve all been loaded online and i can place all the orders from now until December.
Hot lunches have come a long way from me carrying an envelope of cash and a signed order form from my Mom. And Lord help me if i forgot that envelope, no hot lunch for me while watching all my friends eat McD’s cheeseburgers.
I’m very excited to be off the hook for lunches for him twice a week.

Morning. I talked to aftercare and she says j is good there, so that's hopeful at least. He picked his clubs to be creative minds and horticulture, random. I have lunch plans with my work gfs at our favorite Mexican place that is moving while I'm on leave and then back to school night at N's school and then a PTA meeting at the ES tonight. TBD if I go to that or MH.

vino that hot lunch program sounds fun.. cafeteria hot lunch here isn't as tasty. J said the pizza crust was too crunchy and he didn't have much time to eat because the line took so long. So sticking with packing for now to make sure he eats something since he can be a slow eater.

When you type things about B, I often wonder if B is the Canadian doppleganger of my S. He is so helpful, when he wants to be. He will do everything for B, when he wants to. But sometimes he is so damn annoying and pushes his buttons till either I start yelling, or till B is crying or screaming back at him. Between that, the Pokemon and Star Wars... Same kid.

vino tallb S has been begging to try the school lunch but I haven't done it yet. I think tomorrow will be the first time. They have a bunch of options to choose from so I'm nervous of him getting overwhelmed. They can choose between a daily special, a weekly special (both hot lunches), and like 5 or 6 options that are always there (like bagel/cream cheese with fruit and cheese stick or hummus & veggie platter with pita & yogurt. Lunch also comes with milk or juice. He doesn't like milk and I don't want him having juice every day so I'm hoping he listens to that. They get a card that we load money onto and the teacher holds on to it - hands it to them at lunch and collects it after lunch I guess we'll see how it goes!

Morning!
DH normally gets up with the kids so when I heard C get out of bed I thought I’d be charitable, let him sleep a bit, and deal with the kids myself. Took me a good 20 minutes to realize he’d already left...I forgot he had a super early meeting 🤦🏻♀️ Wife of the year right here!
C is off to school, and once the bus comes for B I’m heading to the mall. I want a dress or two for going out this weekend when we’re in Nashville. I always have a hard time finding that kind of thing—not work or sundress, not cocktail/glitzy. #FWP

Dropped J off at school and M, MJ and I ran to kohls to drop off an Amazon return. I was roped into buying stuffed animals that they have upfront. Now I'm nursing her in the car and trying to decide if I want to attempt to get my nails done with no back up for her...

jewels, Cadence says her class gets put in groups in line. So if 3 kids choose option1, they stand together, then the option 2 kids, etc. I guess it makes getting through the line faster. She doesn't really like most of the food so we are still packing her lunch most of the time.

Since K is half-day for us, I don’t have to worry about packing lunches for B, and it’s kind of lovely.
I don’t know what we’ll do about lunch next year in FL when he has the option to buy. I hear the complaint about long lines/little time from practically every parent I know so I guess this is a universal problem!

C is buying for the first time today too! I loaded money into his account and then I have no clue what happens, but he eats! ETA: a friend encouraged me to have C buy at least once early in the year when there are extra helpers in the cafeteria to help kindergartners and new kids.

I went with S to buy some sweatpants for him and he just HAD to get one for himself and one for B. Then I saw the proceeds went to charity so how could I say no!

N has school lunch every day. She had to memorize a 4 digit code to use for her account and apparently she has it down because she hasn’t said anything. She has commented they don’t get a lot of time and she usually doesn’t finish her food, but we just tell her she needs to focus on eating. She just loves that she can choose chocolate milk every day. I dread the day she realizes she can bring a packed lunch, no thank you for more work.

Does he get to bring a water bottle?

M also has to memorize a 4 digit lunch number. I’ll randomly ask him and he always takes a minute to think about it. We are also working on phone numbers and address, so he will occasionally get it mixed up.
We do 2-3 hot lunches a week because he is kind of picky. Any day chicken/pizza offered it’s automatic but lunch day. He surprised me one day and ate fish sticks, so now that’s on my list, too. Every other week they will have a breakfast for lunch option that he eats. He likes burgers now, so I’ve been trying to get him to buy one at school, but he hasn’t yet. I just don’t want him to be tired of the same old lunch meat that goes into packed lunches. I print out a lunch calendar and highlight the days they have things that he will eat and it’s posted on my fridge.

M has been eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at school everyday for free. IT IS THE BEST THING EVER! So far, we will only need to pack a lunch on chicken tamale days. Lol.

But he's also pretty good at following the rules so if I tell him he can't have it, my guess is he will listen.

Cadence won't buy the hamburgers because they aren't cheeseburgers.

I hope you both love it. X’s eating has really improved, so we signed him up for the daycare lunch program. It’s glorious. I pack him an AM snack for preschool and that’s it. Dude likes to buy a couple times a week, and as soon as Poppy is in the 18 month room, she’s going on the lunch program too. I can’t wait. Now if only I could get the little ones off their bottles...
