OMG my first NST was scheduled for today and I just...completely forgot. I didn't look at my calendar last night like I usually do or all day today because I've been SO busy at work. I can't believe I just didn't show up. That's so unlike me and I'm so mad at myself.

Had my 37-week appointment this morning plus the growth sonogram this office does as routine. Baby looks great. Estimated at 6lb 11oz (40%) which can be wildly off but at least the doctors have zero concerns so hopefully will chill. I saw the other OB in the practice (there's two OBs and one midwife, who is my primary) and I really hope she doesn't deliver me (highly unlikely; midwife told me they deliver 95% of their own patients). The nurse told me to undress waist down and I asked why. "Cervix check". No thank you. OB came in and measured and said all looks good and then said "Can I check your cervix at 39 weeks?" with a tone and I said "Nope." She got an attitude. Too bad. Science shows how you're measuring doesn't mean anything in terms of when you'll go into labor. She responded they "have to" do one at 40 weeks so they can prepare for an induction if needed. I told her I will discuss with the midwife at my appointment next week. With #1 I didn't get one until 41 weeks and it was along with an NST and all that good stuff which is totally fine. We'll see where we get.

marshian, that’s so weird, why do they have to be so rude? Do they really think that’s what a pregnant momma needs right now? Good for you for standing your ground! Does anyone have recommendations or experience with some of the compression garments postpartum? I’ve read good things about the belly bandit as well as the bellefit, I don’t know which one to invest in. I just want something comfy to hold it all in while I’m recovering and something that will hopefully help me regain my prior shape. I have one from the hospital but it doesn’t provide much back support

I have one from the hospital but it doesn’t provide much back support I used a pull-up Bellefit and feel it really helped in terms of getting organs back in place and back support. However, once I started pelvic floor PT, the therapist said you should really wear one which pulls toward your midline so it's pulling your abdominal muscles together. I ended up with this one and it was perfect. Definitely good for back support if nothing else. This one in particular has three pieces so you can mix and match as needed. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EVGLMM8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

peggyhill I used a Bellefit last time and was very pleased with how it worked. But that one marshian posted is so much cheaper, and if it was recommended by a pelvic floor PT, I might check it out this time around!

marshian, stayingblonde, do you think either of those helped you regain your shape in addition to adding support?

marshian , stayingblonde , do you think either of those helped you regain your shape in addition to adding support? I do think it helped. I wasn't super in shape pre-pregnancy but I didn't feel like I had a "mom pooch" or whatever you want to call it after wearing a support belt daily for about 12 weeks (I didn't start right away, maybe week 2?).

I just took my 39 week pictures with all 4 and put them into Layout and daaaamn. I'm carrying so much bigger with this one. I have no idea how they keep saying I'm measuring small cause I certainly don't look it.

This exactly. I gained a TON of weight last time, and it didn't magically make that go away. But I didn't feel like I had any ab separation or "mom pooch" at all.

I had about an hour of super painful cramps. Not contractions (they weren't wave-like). I couldn't figure out if they were uterine cramps or indigestion issues. If they were indigestion, it's really bad in there. (And I doubt that was it because TMI but things are moving along, albeit super slowly and with the help of 3 daily Colace.) They died down when I changed positions so I probably shifted the baby around. But it got me into panic mode because all I could think of was the stuff on the to-do list which isn't done yet! I better get motivated!

I should be able to use one of those belts once the csection scar has healed up, right? I kind of had a little pooch between hips and belly button before pregnancy just because that's where I carried the excess weight. I'll have to remember to ask the doctor at my next appointment. Most c section moms are given a binder to wear in the hospital and take home to wear.

I need to wash some stuff tomorrow then pack it!

We installed the second car seat today. And started packing the hospital bag. So I guess this baby can truly come at any time.
I'm ready but also not at all. Two kids?! Newborn forest all over again? Will breastfeeding be as difficult as the first time? Will my labor be as long and tough? Eek

We just installed the carseat finally, too. And cleaned the car! (Well, my husband did...he is insisting I rest thanks to all of the swelling. Ugh this humidity...).
I'm so ready. Any day now, kiddo. Any. Day. Now.

I think this baby might have actually dropped, unlike my first! I can eat large portions again, my heartburn/reflux is gone, and I have more and lower pressure into my nether regions. Really hoping this one will decide to come in a timely fashion!

My husband is now panicking that he doesn’t like our girl name choice 😳😬
We are team green and our boy name has been set for a while and we had decided on Eloise but he is worried nobody will say it right (himself included). I tried to convince him to go back to Elise which was my preference over Eloise anyways and now he’s worried he doesn’t like either!!!!!!!!!!! I guess we cross our fingers it’s a boy?

doodlemommy, I love Eloise and don’t think it’s hard to pronounce. I definitely had some waffling on our name last week, but I think it’s because it’s one variable that I can control. I ended up ordering a personalized Christmas stocking for her this weekend, so I can’t change my mind anymore!

doodlemommy Ugh, names! I had Alexandra on the top of my girl list and my H said he keeps saying it as "Alexandria" (the city) so he didn't like it. Nobody was going to make that mistake. He's never even been there. So weird.

We actually may have agreed on modifying and going with Elsie. He apparently dislikes Elise for sure 🤷🏽♀️ So if he can’t get on board with the possibility of having to correct Eloise frequently we will probably do Elsie. But who knows, baby could be a boy and this whole thing is moot

Honestly our biggest issue is his mom 😂 She pronounces everyday words super weird (I realize the pronunciation could be regional but she legit says things differently than the rest of our entire area) Like taco as t-ahh-co etc. So the fear of her saying it wrong is real but I figured we could just let her call baby Ellie if it was too hard haha

Ah, due date day. No baby. I know not to get too attached to a due date but I haven't made it to my due date since my first so I was fairly optimistic that she'd be here by now... no such luck. Apparently, my body has forgotten how to do this over the past 4 years. Ugh. I'm so done.

Had my 38-week appointment this morning (though I'm 39 weeks tomorrow). I told her baby has been moving less the last two days so she hooked me on the monitor for 15 minutes just to be safe. Looks great! Next week I'll have her try to sweep my membranes because we're trying to avoid an induction. But she's hopeful all the BH and cramps and potential contractions I've been having the last week will lead to the real deal before I hit 41 weeks. 🤞🤞🤞

I know this is probably TMI but I can’t find answers online anywhere and I don’t really want to bother my doctor. I’m only 2 weeks postpartum and I’m really not having much bleeding anymore. I was told 4-6 weeks, is it too early to not be bleeding? Do any of you ladies have experience with something like this?
