I'm off for a work conference in Florida. We fly out this morning and come back super late Thursday. I'm already tired.
Between being sick, my kids being sick, and H wanting to stay up late spending time together like an actual couple this weekend, I'm freaking beat. I need like seven naps.

Does anyone have a problem getting their kids to eat? C is so picky. Tonight he outright refused dinner, which he does somewhat frequently. He loves milk and eats plenty of snacks, I know he’s growing, so he’s probably fine, but it’s just a little disconcerting when he refuses to eat a single bite at a meal. Yep! Dinner is his worst meal. Partly because he snacks while I cook it but without doing that I would never be able to cook anything!
If he’s not eating what I made I’ll give him a soy yogurt or pretzels and hummus. He is on a 1/2 flintstone vitamin (when I remember 😬) because his iron was low at 15months but he’s growing great so I don’t worry too much! Oh my god, yes. Both boys follow me around "sampling" things. E can get into the fridge now too so he likes to help himself.

Also, apparently the food on my plate is much better than the food on E's plate, because he'd much rather sit on my lap eating my dinner than his.

Yeah, it doesn't matter if all the food on everyone's plate is exactly the same. They both always want what I have. E can open the pantry (pull doors) but C can't. If E opens them though, they both go ham on all the snacks. I thought it would make my life easier putting them on a low shelf so they could help themselves and I wouldn't have to get up and down constantly. But really it just it encourages mass snacking and less real food eating.

Hey all - apologies for not being around, I have been living in the politics thread. We brought N to his second baseball game over the weekend and he did much better this time around than in June - those few months (and not as humid weather) made a difference for him sitting and actually watching things. And also playing with the water bottle top. I tried on wide calf boots this weekend that did not zip all the way up and I have the sads over it. I really need to change my habits because I feel like crap and my clothes are all tight, but I've also been sleeping like shit lately and it's CD1 to boot, so I keep putting it off. Sigh. We are officially driving to Florida for Thanksgiving. I need to start researching road tripping with a toddler, but if you have any tips they would be much appreciated!

sarahandben108 & cnf that is H’s plate and cup. Whatever he is, they want. cakewench a size bigger diaper for in the car. A sunshade of some sort, I usually use the A&A blankets tied to the “oh shit” handles or the hanger things. Movies saved to the iPad. Drive over night. Haven’t flown with my kids, gives me too much anxiety solo. cnf at this point, I’m not even sure what I would do if I wasn’t breastfeeding anymore. It has been non-stop since March 2014. Terrified to see what happens with my breasts when I dry up.

If it makes anyone feel better B usually eats a pouch every day after dc and then is picky at dinner. He’s getting better but he doesn’t always eat what we do. Tonight he killed some meatballs. He loves grilled cheese but has been on a quesadilla strike. Newly he likes ravioli. Still won’t eat most vegetables.
H and I eat keto/low carb so I don’t feel bad about making b something else so he can get carbs.

cakewench, I’m right there with you on the weight gain. I have ZERO time right now. And my food habits are not great.

Sending you some hugs cakewench. I always need wide calf boots and I've definitely struggled to find pairs that zip regardless. I get the dad's every fall when I can't wear cute boots like everyone else. It took me years to finally find a pair that fits. We have a really great health thread on GD. You should come play with us over there. Lots of ladies who are all in it together ❤️

I'm relieved to know my kiddo isn't the only one who won't eat vegetables. In a pouch? Disappears before I can turn around. On the plate? Won't even look at it.

Other than one weekend when corn was life B is anti-veggies at home. He generally eats them at school and we offer at home but I’m not super concerned. But thank goodness for Costco veggie pouches.

Hot damn. Just realized it is October.
Made IP broccoli cheese soup tonight and it was amazing. A didn’t eat any of it, but he did use his spoon properly to attempt to feed DS1 and run it through his hair. He also squeezed handfuls all over. At least his bowl was empty? Turd.
