We’re doing solids bc M was chowing down like 40-45oz of formula a day 👀
He’s tried rice and oatmeal, pureed sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, beans, peas, pears, prunes, bananas and apples, and in his chewer thingy cantaloupe, watermelon and blueberries. He HATED peas, but he loves everything else. Can’t get enough of them, actually. We have to limit him to 2-4oz a day of solids bc he gets backed up but he’s eat them like they’re going out of style.

My pooper twin did not go yesterday and last night we tried prunes. I fear for the daycare ladies today, lol.

We haven’t started food yet, but I need to start thinking about that soon. DD1 was very uninterested in eating until closer to 9 months, but I have a feeling DD2 is going to chow down.
Being back at work feels like I’m treading water and slowly sinking down. Where are my floaties??

I may have snapped at a youthful colleague who was complaining about how "tired" she was lol. I'm sure I looked like a crazy person. "You don't knowwww tired :::growl:::" Haha

Is it bad to give your baby Tylenol for fussiness without knowing what’s wrong? Like M generally only fusses if tired or hungry but last night he was all over the place and I suspect teething but am not sure. Anyway if he’s like that again I just wonder if it’s okay to try.

Honestly I think it's fine if it happens somewhat infrequently. Like I wonder sometimes if our babies just have a headache or some other simple thing they can't verbalize. If it helps then that's a good thing!

We started food a few weeks ago and honestly I can't shove food in his face fast enough. He screams if I dont have a constant flow of food into his mouth.
He is also a huge baby, somehow. 70th%ile for height when compared to a full term baby (he was 5 weeks early) and 65th for weight. My chunky baby. He is also the happiest baby and a great night sleeper but a shit napper. Sorry daycare!
He has 2 bottom teeth and rolls a lot but does not appear close to sitting.

We started puréed foods almost 2 months ago. DD isn’t really in to eating, so we’ve given a week or 2 in between foods. So far she has tried sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, and avocado (in that order). She did not like sweet potatoes or carrots. She did like butternut squash. She is doing ok/pretty good with avocados. Peas are next!
I am also going to ask about PB and eggs at her next appt.
She woke up coughing yesterday and so much snot!! No fever though. That is exactly how my friend’s baby presented and had RSV. DD’s swab was negative though! Maybe it’s teeth?? 🤷🏻♀️ She doesn’t have any yet.

Hi all. Sorry for being MIA for a while. I'm hoping now that my big kids are in school I'll have time to be more active. T has gotten 2 teeth in the last couple of weeks and our sleep over here sucks. He is a master sitter and loves playing with his brothers. He is 6.5 months. We havent started solids yet and will wait probably another 6 weeks or so. I will do baby led weaning, just feeding what we are eating and no purees.

We tried oatmeal with DS yesterday - he loved it. But then we had a shit night of sleep. He’s been fighting a cold on and off and I couldn’t tell if his tummy was upset or not. At least he doesn’t have a fever. He finally slept for a few hours but I’m exhausted. I hope he kicks the cold soon.

Mine have lots of snot, sneezes, and tiny baby coughs. No fever or anything. I can't tell if it's allergies or a cold. But they are happy otherwise. Working on those bottom teeth here too. I have something myself which I thought was allergies, so I'm not sure. I got 6 hours of sleep straight last night! 🙌

Sorry for all the sick babies. I’m the one with the bad cold in our house. DD and C have minor stuffy noses but doesn’t seem to be getting worse.
We haven’t started C on solids yet but we’re having banana swirl (for anyone whose toddlers watch Daniel Tiger) it just frozen blended banana and H was like give him a taste cuz he keeps trying to get our food. So I did and he was super gassy and slept horrible. Now I never want to start solids. It was less than a pea size amount.
Has anyone else hit a sleep regression around 5 months? I have been luck and C has been a great sleeper overall but this last week since he hit 5 months. I have been up half the night holding him. DD was a horrible sleeper till after a year old so I’m having serious anxiety about his sleep getting worse and it is keeping me up the other half of the night. We are in the middle of moving into new house so I don’t think I could function on as little sleep as I got with her right now.

N has been a great sleeper before 4 months and a more finicky sleeper since. This weekend she had 2 great nights although she was up early both Saturday and Sunday. She got a bad cold last week so that was cause for several rough nights.
She is rolling laughing and interested in food. She is not sitting yet but getting closer. She will hold it for a few seconds. I will start giving her some food in October. Just ordered a new high chair today because my older two did a number on the free to me third hand high chair I had.

Boys have been in daycare one week and today I already got a text that one has a low grade fever. DCP asked if she could give tylenol, so we're going to try that and see how it goes. I am heading back near home anyway, because I had a derm appt this PM. I wanted to be responsible and finally made an appt for a skin check. I will probably swing by to get them early right after. Poor buddy. Other guy has a runny nose but not as bad.
Yesterday was my DD's birthday party, so naps were bad and they had runny noses then too. I could use another weekend day to recover!

Hope he feels better soon Eames! M was sounding stuffy this morning so I’m really hoping he’s not about to start up again, I think it may be teething related.

I feel like I’m barely surviving between three kids and their school stuff and sports. Dd is a super happy baby... that quickly turns fussy when I’m not holding her. She also refuses to eat for anyone but me. And right now is a super busy time for mh with work.
My oldest turns 7 in two days and I’m all in my feelings about that. I love watching the person he is becoming but oh my goodness do I feel like it was just yesterday he was my baby I was rocking to sleep.

I just had M’s 6 month check up and I’m a little annoyed by two things his doctor said but maybe I’m just grumpy today. She said he needs to be eating food 3x/day now which seems crazy to me, he tolerates a small amount of a purée in the evening but certainly isn’t excited about it so why would I want to increase so much, we only started a month ago. Then she said he doesn’t need to eat overnight and I should be letting him CIO basically. He wakes up once to eat which I don’t think is bad and I’m just not sure if I want to sleep train or not. Maybe these are normal things to recommend, I have no idea I’m just bothered for some reason. End rant 😝

My LO is 6.5 months and our pedi was totally on board with me waiting to start solids until closer to 8 months.

We just had DD’s 6 month appt, and they said to try to feed her once daily during the week and more on the weekends. I feed DD 1-2 times at night, and they didn’t have any issues with that. If your LO is hungry then he’s hungry.

I don’t think we had DD eating 3 meals a day until she was almost 1. I feel like you know your baby best, that might be the pedi’s standard recommendation but I say do what feels right for you and your babe.

So, DS is having trouble with solids. He usually has fine head control but when he’s in the high chair and I’m feeding him he isn’t really lifting his head to accept the spoon. I should stop and wait a few weeks, right? He’s 5 months + 1 week. He’s up to 7 oz/bottle, 5x/day so I felt he needed more to eat, but I think he’s not ready?

DD does better at eating in her bouncy seat than sitting straight up. The bouncy seat was a recommendation by a child development person that evaluated DD at daycare. Maybe try that and see if your DS eats better that way?
