Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: Oct 3/ 34w4/ a 5lb3oz baby
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: next thursday. Because she did so well at her BPP last week and put on the required weight, so I got a reprieve on my weekly BPPs/NSTs until 37w!
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones: 1 more month to go!
Symptoms: ugh. You name it, I got it
Rants: Stick me with a fork. I am so done and ready for Sept 26.
Raves: Not sure if this is really a rave, but she weighs a full 1.5 lbs more than DS2 at this point (with him, I was borderline IUGR). It’s a big relief for us this time around.
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? fall... cider donuts. Yum!

Milestones: no idea
Symptoms: pain. Lol

GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? I’m in south FL, so I prefer the few months between summer and the next summer where it’s actually nice out..

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 35w 3d/a moderately successful game of Jenga/9.27
FTM, Etc: #4
Appointments: Umm supposed to be late next week but I have my u/s at the same time so I still need to change it.
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Pink
Milestones: Passed 35/35! Always feels like a milestone for some reason anyway ha
Symptoms: Everything? There's so much pressure and pelvic floor pain. If it wasn't for my kids, I'd be part of the couch by now.
Rants: Not so much a rant but tomorrow was my original due date when I had my CP. Weird to think that if all had gone well, I'd probably be cuddling a newborn about now but it's all worked out, ultimately ❤️
Raves: Kids start back to school in a week and a half! Haha I'll miss their crazy butts but I think DS will be happy to join me in some naps without his high-energy sisters running around. Can't. Wait.
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? I love both. But at this time, I'm really excited for fall and I'm happy that we actually experience it now since we moved from the west coast to the east coast a few years back. Today feels like fall and it's amazing.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 33w / cauliflower / Oct 14
FTM, Etc: STM
Appointments: Tomorrow
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Blue
Milestones: Nothing really right now. Just watching the countdown.
Symptoms: I'm still hanging in there with not a ton of symptoms. It feels weird, but I'm not going to question it. This guy's kicking is getting stronger/more aggressive, and sometimes it hurts. Oh, and I'm really not enjoying the BH. I don't even remember having them last time around, but these ones actually feel like anxiety and I don't like it one bit. Tight chest, adrenaline, racing heart, etc. That feeling makes me so uncomfortable and I really hate it when I'm just sitting on my couch minding my own business.
Rants: I need to call to set up my 2x/week NST, need to call my short-term disability, and need to get my tdap and I just can't manage to get any of this stuff done. I feel like I have no time right now with BTS and life to sit down and take care of this business that I really need to take care of. Someone get me a time turner, please.
Raves: Bought a bunk bed for my big kid (and eventually baby when he gets much older) which gets delivered on Wed and have someone ready on OfferUp to take away his toddler bed. Wee! I love getting all of this logistical stuff taken care of.
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Summer, for sure. I'm a teacher and I'm off in the summer vs going back to work and starting a new school year from scratch, so that's no contest. I don't even mind the heat, but I was born and raised somewhere hot, so I'm used to it. I also love the beach, the pool, and those types of summer activities.

Yay! OfferUp lady came through and took away our toddler bed and we moved the recliner, which was SO easy. Now baby's area is all ready to get stocked with his clothes and supplies and R is ready for his big boy bed delivery on Wed. Things are really happening.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 35w 5d/ pineapple?/ Sept 25
FTM, Etc: FTM
Appointments: This Wednesday will be my 36 week appt. hopefully there’s more to it than just a Doppler listen, I feel like I have no info about the baby or if I’m effaced or starting to dilate. They don’t care about checking you for anything unless there’s bleeding. 🙄
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Blue
Milestones: One more month!! 😱😱😱
Symptoms: Tired, peeing a lot, starving
Rants: I’m not sure if it’s a pregnancy thing or what, but for the past week every time I eat lunch, I get incredibly painful stomach cramps. I have no idea what’s causing them, and it takes a couple hours to go away. Its getting quite old.
Raves: Finally got the glider for the nursery!! Only have to get a side table and we’re pretty much done! It’s crazy how fast this has gone, but I’m really feeling the pressure now that we’re down to the wire!
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Fall forever! I actually like winter the best but between the two, fall for sure. Beautiful trees and cool weather, it’s so much more relaxing than hot ass weather. Heat stresses me out, I feel confined inside and I hate having to rely on air conditioning. I’m used to coastal cool weather so I’m still not used to over 100 degree weather.

peggyhill It’s becoming less and less common to do a cervix check before 39/40w. In all honesty, it doesn’t mean shit and rarely does any good to check earlier on unless there’s a medical reason— it really just gets mom’s anxiety up

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 32, pomelo, oct 22
FTM, Etc: TTM
Appointments: midwife Thursday
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green
Milestones: ?
Symptoms: baby is enjoying punching/head butting my cervix leading to some very uncomfortable feelings. Braxton Hicks are ramping up a bit but nothing too bad
Rants: summer is pretty much over. We have had a terrible weather summer with so many rainy/windy/cool days that I didn’t get to do as many outside things as I wanted to with my kids this summer
Raves: we finally have a dresser set up to our baby clothes in! Now I just need to wash all my newborn clothes and pack bags and we are ready-ish
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Summer as long as it’s not insanely hot. Mostly because I don’t work haha. I do love fall too for sweaters, scarves, warm drinks, leaves...

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 38w1d/Pomeranian dog/sept 9
FTM, Etc: 3xm
Appointments: had one yesterday, next one is next Thursday. This is the first baby we are denying cervical checks and omg I wish I did this with my other two. No more stress about not dilating. I was at a zero with both until the day they came.
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green
Milestones: tick tock
Symptoms: all the wonderful fun things
Rants: is this where i put all the symptoms? Lol
Raves: it’s just crazy how baby could be here any day now.
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Fall 100%. I only like summer when I’m at the beach or pool. Since beaches are 4+ hours away and we don’t have a pool I’m not the happiest person. If we lived somewhere milder I’m sure it’d be different, but summers in Tx are miserable.

peggyhill i agree, cervix/dilation checks are not done that often anymore it seems and it means basically nothing. I know more than one person who walked around at 3-4 cm for weeks. I had my first one with DD when I got to the hospital after my water started leaking at 41 weeks. I was only a finger tip dilated which was really discouraging to hear. Her birth was long and not the greatest experience. With DS my midwife didn’t even do one when I arrived at the birth centre. She checked me one time, when I told her I was ready to push, just to make sure I was actually fully dilated. His birth was insanely quick and my dream birth experience.

Yeah, I think I'm going to decline cervical checks unless I get super close to 40 weeks. My doctor accidentally ruptured my membranes when she did a check on me with my oldest on her due date haha I'll hold out hope that it could happen again!

Week/Object size/EDD: 34w3d / Large bag potato chips / Oct 5
FTM, Etc: 2TM
Appointments: This Friday, bi-weekly appt
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Green
Milestones: Regularly waking up at least once a night to pee (I know I was lucky to manage to not deal with this for many months!)
Symptoms: Acid reflux every now and then, periods of zero appetite, periods of insatiable appetite, only wanting similar foods to what I ate first tri (carbs, cheese, junk food), Braxton Hicks have begun, RLP is back
Rants: Getting tough to sit on the floor and play with J. Also to "help her" pick up her toys (AKA do most of it myself). I very clearly asked my H to please scrub down the kitchen sink after he washes dishes because it's a crappy sink and has no slope and no sprayer so food scraps just sit there. This triggers my bad gag reflex. He keeps forgetting.
Raves: Overall still feeling better than textbook and better than many other pregnant people I know/knew. Not saying this "at" anyone. I'm very grateful.
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Fall all the way!

peggyhill - My previous midwife didn't do cervical checks before labor unless you got to 41 weeks and then requested her to sweep your membranes. Unless there are other labor signs, dilation alone doesn't seem to mean much. I'll be declining them this time around and asking for minimal checks during labor as well since I stalled out at 5cm with my first and don't need anything extra in my head.

FTM, Etc: 2nd
Appointments: Wednesday for a possible membrane sweep and Thursday induction hopefully
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): pink
Milestones:
Symptoms: Can’t sleep, no energy, keep getting headbutt in the cervix, Braxton Hicks, she dropped on Friday so peeing all the time cuz she’s on my bladder lol
Rants: I just want her out
Raves: I think we’re ready
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? Definitely fall, I do not do well in the heat.

Week/Fruit/EDD/baby age: 34/tennis racket/Oct 7
FTM, Etc: 3
Appointments: today! Just had my checkup and now awaiting my first of 12 NSTs. Brought the baby book to pass the time.
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): green...getting kind of excited about this now.
Milestones: most things except lungs fully developed!
Symptoms: BHs, heartburn, largeness.
Rants: Both my doctor’s office and the hospital are now trying to make patients prepay everything before delivery. Thing is, I will most definitely meet my max out of pocket and likely get this all free by the time delivery day roles around and then I have to deal with making sure I get my money back. I feel like they should just do insurance normally and let things play out.
Raves: just got a Sprite while I’m sitting here?
GTKY: Are you a bigger fan of fall or summer? That’s tough—overall summer, but I do love me some Halloween and all of my kids’ birthdays.

Re: cervical checks—with my first, I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks so I had mine checked weekly from then until delivery and I walked around at a 3-4 for weeks. She was born on her due date.
This time around I’m not even going to ask for one until 39 weeks.

I think I’ll only do a cervical check if I make it to 41w. I was a zero at 40w with my first and then 4 days later....bam there he was.

moonandback141 My hospital with my first tried to get me to prepay as well. Finance department called me. I asked if it was required. She hedged and talked in circles and finally came down to no, they can't force you to pay in advance. So we didn't. Just hold your ground. You do not have to pay for services not yet rendered. It seems like it's more of a push for them to get something ahead of time in case you have trouble paying when they do finally bill you. No thanks. I've heard too many first-hand stories of people having things on their bill which never occurred (c-section charges for a vagina delivery, drugs they never took, etc).

Just had my OB appt. She said because of my age, she's definitely not letting me go all the way to 40 weeks. I was finally induced at 41+2 with R, so this thought is really messing with my mind! Even though I know anything can happen, I was just really imagining going all the way to the end and beyond because that's what happened last time. Now I'm totally recalculating my mental timeline. Even though it's only a week, it's still ~wEiRd~.

Thanks for the input everyone! Honestly it wasn’t on my radar but I guess there is a huge incidence of preterm labor in my field of work, and just about every mother I work with cautioned me with their own story of being dilated and in preterm labor and not even having symptoms. They were just told they were to be on bed rest unless they wanted early babies. I’ve never done this before and I’m worried I’ll ignore symptoms and just assume it’s some kooky pregnancy symptom and put myself at risk. That’s all I’m really worrying about, I know I’m probably worrying too much, but I just can’t seem to help myself 🤦🏼♀️

peggyhill there’s always symptoms, but they may not have recognized them- their contractions may not have been painful (like, the belly went hard but wasn’t painful) or they dismissed the cramps as BH or growing pains stayingblonde I felt that way last time! I went late with DS1, so when I was told I wasn’t allowed to go past my EDD with DS2, I was completely caught off guard

cmb Yes! I mean, anecdotally I know all pregnancies are different, but this is just throwing me off of what I expected to happen in such a big way. I was actually planning to work until the week before my due date and now I should probably change that.
