What’s on your agendas for the rest of the summer?

Good morning ladies!
Little man is pretending to bring me all the food from the play kitchen. It’s super cute. We took both kids to the park and splash pad yesterday. They had a ball.
We have birthday parties to go to for the next two Saturdays. After that I am hoping to head to my aunts lake house for a weekend. I think that’s it for the summer until we go to Disney in September.

Summer is such a weird thing around here for me at the moment. It's going to continue to be hot forever, but schools go back next week and traffic will be a nightmare again. SS is coming over with grandbaby tonight to celebrate his birthday, and my parents are coming next week to celebrate mine. I'm feeling kind of meh about my birthday this time around.
We took DD to the splash pad in our neighborhood this weekend and she had an absolute blast. I was bummed when we noticed a swarm of bees congregated on one of the fountains, so we left early. She would have stayed and played for a long time.
H is hopefully starting his new job soon, but that meant cancelling our Disney trip. Super bummed about that too.

Hi friends! I had a much-needed break from reality this weekend. I was able to escape to Minneapolis and spend the weekend without the kids and DH. It felt weird to be away but refreshing at the same time. I drank 1.5 bottles of wine each night and we played cards against humanity. My H and his family are pretty reserved so it was nice to let loose and feel like myself again. I actually haven't felt that way in months. An online friend I've known for 20+ years happened to be in Minneapolis at the same time and wanted to meet but I just didn't think DH would appreciate it so I declined. I feel a bit guilty because, 20 years, but if I meet him I'd like DH along to sort of "prove" he's not a threat.
I got home to overtired toddlers and a leaking toilet seal. Slammed back into reality.
I started my new anxiety meds today. Hoping for a smooth transition.

Nothing major for us. I have about 3 weeks of break left before I go back to work. Day trips, DS's b-day party and general hanging out are on the agenda. Oh and running/working out since I'm doing a marathon in October. We'll do some local beaches this week and then maybe a small zoo next week.
We are also trying to get DS's sleep straightened out before back-to-school. Wish us luck. We are on sticker chart number 4 but he seems to be getting better...???? We have gone from him needing us to lay down next to him to fall asleep to him only coming out of his room for us twice last night before falling asleep. He's nearly 4 and we've had 4 tough years so I'm hoping this time is "the one." DD (our Feb 18 baby), on the other hand, is the easiest they come, with regard to sleep.

My in laws bought me a ninja foodi for Christmas. I didn’t actually get it until the first week of July because they live in FL and it was too heavy to ship it here. Anyway I have started using it and I love it soooo much. I haven’t touched my oven in about two weeks. Lol

Happy August everyone! I hope everyone is having a good summer.
Work has been soooo busy the past few months so I feel like I haven't been around here as much. It's crazy that our "babies" are 18ish months now!
DS has been so fun this summer and is on a really good schedule right now. He amazes me with how many words he learns each day! I'm always sad at how fast it's going though.

Hi! I had a baby this week so we are just trying to settle in as a family of 6! My first semester of nursing school ended Friday and he was born Saturday. His big sisters are very much in love. My J18 baby loves him a little too aggressively though 😂 she's like a wrecking ball haha!
I am enjoying the next 3 weeks off from school and I need to plan a birthday party for my oldest - she turns 5 and starts kindergarten in 2 weeks! So basically it is just chaos as usual around here.

I’m so looking forward to my vacation time next week because it’s so desperately needed. I’m excited for all 4 of us in my house to just be together. It’s been such a hectic summer and when school/swim/fire classes start again we will barely all see each other except for Sunday’s.
And I forgot to give an update in the other thread, DS2 continues to have stomach issues at daycare so I called the pediatrician and they don’t believe it was a virus because it wasn’t consistently happening. We were told to stop all dairy for now and we will evaluate at our appt on Tuesday. It’s been night and day since cutting his dairy. So now we’ll see if he’s intolerant or allergic. The way his skin burns I’m leaning towards allergic.

Congratulations peachesncream! Did you know it was a boy beforehand? Thank you! No, we were team green, and we were definitely surprised! The doctor made us take a final guess before I started pushing and both of us (and the doctor) guessed girl 😂

Glad to hear you might have pinpointed something, kbw! Dairy can be a pain to eliminate but there are so many plant-based options to substitute dairy products with, hopefully you guys do ok with the transition (if that is it!). Were you dairy free in the early days after these kiddos were born? (I know there were a few of us!)

Were you dairy free in the early days after these kiddos were born? (I know there were a few of us!) Nope. But I struggle with dairy. I can eat cheese in smaller amounts and chocolate but can’t drink milk or eat things like ice cream. I was egg free and I’m wondering if that’s some of the culprit here too. I did notice his wheezing isn’t happening either right now. Hopefully we get some answers.

I took DS1 to Paw Patrol live yesterday with my niece. Man oh man is that an environment. It was so cute seeing the kids so excited.

Are any other ladies here TTC? I didn't get my first PP until DS was about 12 months old so we have only been trying for 5 ish months, but I'm starting to get sad about the possibility of doing IVF again. It just sounds draining when I think about it and I was really hoping we would end up not needing it this time. We will probably start thinking about it more seriously after the holidays so I still have some time for it to happen naturally, but I'm not feeling optimistic.

pinkcat, have you joined the TTGP page? I leaned on them a lot when it took us a while to get pregnant this time. I don't know how active it is now but there are a lot of women going through the same thing. Have you met with your doctor yet? Maybe it could be something as simple as taking medicine to ovulate. I needed that with DD2 and tried it again this time but miraculously got pregnant after I stopped taking it.

I have unexplained IF so my doctors aren't sure why we couldn't conceive, and we did many rounds of meds/IUIs before being successful with IVF for DS. I have been tracking since my period came back and I am ovulating, but no luck yet. It's only been 5 months so not long, I just don't feel optimistic since we had tried for so long prior to DS. I'm assuming we will need to do IVF again but I am not looking forward to it! Just wanted to vent I guess haha

pinkcat, I definitely understand! We had a miscarriage between each successful pregnancy and it took a long time to get pregnant. Because I'm old, we started seeing an RE after DD1 when we TTC. There is also an IVF page here and I think about 1 or 2 people a month are transferring so they are good for venting too!
