leatherpants never loving again?!? Dying. 😂That seems a bit dramatic! Lol! Dramatic is my middle name although I did mean moving. Maybe my phone knows something I don’t!

Speaking of bedtime bottles, I recently stopped L’s bedtime nursing, so we’ve been offering a sippy of milk instead. He’ll take maybe 3 sips and doesn’t want it anymore. That’s ok right? I feel like it’s fine but it just seems weird that he doesn’t drink anything before bed for the first time in his life. Totally fine!

Have fun on your trip clementine! All the new house/house hunting in here makes me excited! I have decided I am never loving again and I’ll die in this house but I still love it - vicariously This is me. Despite my reservations about our house, there are things I love about it and I have a vision for it. And even if I hated everything about it I fully intend on living here until I die lol. I am never. Moving. Again.

That's crazy auri. I hope it's fixed as soon as possible because that's a stressful way to start the year.

Gave me a nice laugh on my 5 hour trip (from the ILs to my house and back) to get my marriage certificate and birth certificate bc I just realized my passport still has my maiden name. Oops. I hope they let me on the flights. Face palm city over here. ETA: I meant dying as in I’m dying laughing at you never loving again not that you were being dramatic about dying!

N has always been big and she's still tall and heavy. I get so many comments about her size, usually from strangers, but I was video chatting my grandma this morning and she was acting shocked by how big N is. I'd by lying if I said I haven't been wondering myself about why she was born at 9lb, and whether or not I'm doing something wrong in terms of feeding her. I actually have quite a bit of anxiety about it, and the fact that other people exclaim over it makes me feel bad. I've been asked more times than I can count of she and my 3 year old are twins.
Does anyone else with a big baby worry about this? I'm probably being ridiculous.

mintyblueair, not the same but similar- E is super tiny, and everyone freaks out when they see her walking because she looks like a freak of nature. She was born at nearly 9lbs and was juuuust about 19 at her 15 month appt. I'm constantly worried anout her size.

Does anyone else with a big baby worry about this? I'm probably being ridiculous. I say this with an abundance of love and a 4yo the size of an average 6yo: release this now. She is a baby and you are not overfeeding her. Assuming she is growing along her curve, your pedi has no concerns, and your not feeding her fast food for every meal, then she is fine and so is her food take. I encourage you to listen to a few podcasts about fatphobia or read an article by “Your Fat Friend.” People have been conditioned to believe that appearing “larger” than a typical/straight-sized person is unhealthy. In science-backed reality, this is not the case. Fixating on her size and food and the opinions of others is not healthy for either of you. In our house we have a firm “we do not comment on other people’s bodies” rule and emphasize that God made us the way we are and how we look is the least interesting thing about us. We don’t talk about calories nor do we talk about bad/good foods. Our mantra is: Eat everything in moderation, listen to our bodies, move with joy.

He’s quite slim at 5 now but he was a chunky baby. I had the same worries. It’s not ridiculous. I mean, has there every been anything in the history of parenting where you don’t worry about something if you are asked repeatedly about it or it’s on the ends of the bell curve of “normal”? But you aren’t overfeeding and she’s fine. If she wasn’t, your dr would’ve told you. People are obsessed with body size. For kids. For adults. It’s insane. But you aren't. And she’s exactly who she is supposed to be. ❤️

Hi! Can I peek in again? I am so over summer. I give zero cards about chore charts and schedules. I. Am. Done. Except dh is still traveling weekly and I don’t even know how to get my work done nevermind get a night out. Kids are outside right now and I’m hiding inside.

👋Omg it's been a bit. Sebastian is 17.5months and is still so much fun, but man he's a toddler now 😬. Learned to walk about middle of July so a little over 16m. Today he climbed on a chair by the table for I think the first time so the next 3 years should be fun. Anyone else getting comments about "time for another one"? I'm like lolno he's still a baby. And yet we gave him a haircut last week and I feel like I have someone else's 2yo. I miss his curls and he looks so big. We vacationed in Virginia Beach and go boating on the lake by our house and we're camping on Raquette lake in the Adirondacks next week, so summer has been great. He's finally started copying words but didn't follow any commands. 😬 Loves his shoes, balls, books, hitting, animals (alive and stuffed), splashing in water, running around outside. It's so much fun seeing such great joy on his face from such little things. 😍

alwayscheese YES to the next baby comments. All the time. We actually would like to start trying soon, but we have to wait 3 months since we just went to Mexico where Zika is still a thing. It’s still kind of annoying to hear from everyone that we better get busy. Like.. no, you can get busy getting right out of my business.

Idk when that will be. Like he's been a unicorn baby and I'm not sure I'm ready for what's surely coming to balance that out!😂😭 Also I just want more time with just him lol. I'm doing a lot of LALALALALALA when people talk about age gaps.

Hello!
Thought I’d pop in. I really hate that I never get notifications for this group and feel like inadvertently forget you. Anyway, hope everyone’s summer has gone well. A started walking in June and is always on the move. She’s repeating a lot of words but still insists on calling me “Dada” (she knows how to say mama but for some reason doesn’t associate it with me). We just got back from a 2 week long road trip down to Yellowstone and up into Saskatchewan. We broke up the long days of travel though and the kids did really well. Other than that, hoping the weather holds out a few more weeks so we can do some work outside.

Has anyone ever dealt with ovarian cysts rupturing? I ended up in the ER with crazy abdominal pain (like a 2-3 when just laying still but a 8-10 if I moved on a certain way or some one touched a few inches below my belly button.) They eliminated appendicitis and a hernia and guessed cyst. I’m very very nervous that this is going to happen again and am going to follow up with my OBGYN. I just wish it was easier to diagnose... or prevent.

We finally have a walker! B is finally walking more than crawling now which is a very big relief.
And I go back to work in 2 weeks so I’m in a glass case of emotion. I’m so thankful to have had such a nice extended period of time with both kids and I can’t wait to have some alone time where I can eat and pee alone and be an adult but damn I’m going to miss them so much every day. And tbh I’m not really thrilled about having to get dressed every day whether I want to or not. L starts kindergarten next week, B is walking and we are trying out the day home for both of them next week and all of a sudden it’s just so much.

Also went to the ER because they at first thought it was an ectopic because the US tech ‘saw something’, follow up scan showed no ectopic. PCOS runs in my family so it was assumed to be that while I waited for testing. I got pregnant with DS a few months later and haven’t had the same degree of painful ruptures since. They can be so painful, I hope you’re spared another episode like you’ve had.

I had no idea that it could be painful beyond the actual rupture. Crazy. I don’t know how people deal with this on a regular basis.

i almost posted on ma 2019😑 Leaf 🌱 yikes! i don’t have any experience with cysts, but i hope you don’t have to deal with any more of them. i got my first pp period a last month and i felt like i was hit by a truck. this month seems to be the same. like i have zero energy and crazy mood swings. maybe i’m just getting old. hormones suck. in other news we got the house! we’re not closing until end of january and we won’t put our house up until end of feb/march - so i have all the time to prepare right? i’m sure we will wait until the last minute and be all stressed out no matter what though.

This second baby is some sort of no fear, pain loving, crash test dummy who refuses REFUSES to give up nursing.

We’ve officially entered the boss baby phase. L is very demanding these days. Mama yit (sit), mama away (wants me to move my hair away so he can lay his head on my shoulder), mama go, mama mess (clean up this mess). Kid is all mama all day so all his commands involve me somehow. Not sure if it’s teething or what but he has not been his usual happy self either. Just really grouchy and quick to cry. We have a wedding this weekend and L is staying at my parents so I’m super excited to not clean up any messes and wear my hair down.

N basically lives on one table or another. I take her down just to have her run right back and climb up. At this point I'm starting to just accept it. I think she does it to get to me so maybe if I stop reacting, she'll stop it? Who knows.
