Morning! Work today, then headed to STL tonight. I have an appointment there tomorrow with the orthopedic surgeon for my carpal tunnel issues, then S has an appt with the sleep specialist Thursday. We will squeeze in lots of family time there as well.

We all have belt tests tonight and it's the going away for the TKD instructor. I can't wait for it to be over with. I'm nervous like I always am for belt testing, but MH is a mess since he's testing for black belt 2 months earlier than planned. He should have known all this stuff for his last test and he didn't and of course he was waiting until the last minute to learn it. He can't deal with stress so he's been a lot of fun lately.
The TKD studio came out with a new schedule and I don't like it at all. The adult class is an hour later twice a week and 15 minutes later 2 nights. It was already late with the girls and now that makes for super late nights. I'm not thrilled about that at all. Plus there's a much longer gap between the girls' class and the adult one so I guess I'll use that time to take them home and feed them dinner and have them shower, but since MH will be working then that leaves me to do it solo (which I do so often anyways, but I'm over it). They also cut one of the two sparring classes out and those were my favorite. At least we'll have a couple of weeks to adjust to the schedule without school.

Morning. S slept well last night but woke me up at 5:30 saying she was super thirsty. Her temp is 102, and meds aren’t really keeping it down so I am going to message her doctor to see if he wants me to bring her in. All she wants to do is lay in my bed with me and snuggle. H is bummed that we don’t get to go anywhere or do anything today.

Tonight at 9:00 on the ID channel is a documentary called “love sick”. About a murder that happened in my county. I had my parents record it so I can see it when I get there. Locally the guy was called “the koolaid killer” because he poisoned his wife’s koolaid. Then on the 4th is f July while he was still in the county jail, they let him out to watch the fireworks on the front lawn and he just got up and walked away. They caught him again a day or two later. MH was involved in the search for him after the escape. I’m shocked that our small town murder has made television.

I can't believe they let him out to watch the fireworks. That seems.....really dumb. |

Morning.
Work, work, and work today. Im picking M up when I leave and we are going to the library and gym this afternoon.
I’ve been trying to get the boys into summer swimming lessons for two months now. They have an online portal, but you can’t book summer sessions online. I’ve called these people and showed up in person and could never get anyone. I called after I left work yesterday and got someone and finally got them scheduled to do last session starting next week. They didn’t have any classes scheduled for M2, but she made it work out where he can do it the same time as M. So glad it works out that way because I want M2 to start now and didn’t want to have him start with the one/week classes first. I would rather him do two weeks straight to start out.

I ran outside today, since it's 84 and not ridiculously hot. It was a nice change, definitely made the time go faster, but damn, I'm not used to running outside.
I'm actually still looking forward to meeting my friends for dinner and drinks tonight. Haven't tried to talk myself out of it once!

Dragging today. I was up late looking at beds bc we decided we are going to get a king sized bed. We had one on vacation and it was a million times better when j ended up in our bed. Mh apparently doesn't like our current bed (surprise to me) so trying to figure out what kind he likes.
Had my 32 week appt and had a sonogram. Baby's head is measuring 35 weeks and looks good, I think it looks like a boy based on the pictures for some reason. I passed inspection and all appointments are set😳. I'm filling out the preschool wait-list form...for when this kid is 18 months..

I am so annoyed and need to vent.
You all know MH always travels. In addition to this, I feel he always prioritizes poorly and this has been an issue for us for quite some time. I took 3 days off between jobs and he was home for part of that time. I asked him for a "date day" and thought he would clear at least most of the day. He cleared an hour for lunch.
Both kids have been missing him a lot and I've been really discussing that he needs to figure out a way to be home more. He was home this weekend and left Sunday afternoon. His event ended last night but he was exhausted (understandably) so the plan was to come home today.
I never tell the kids definite times that he is coming home b/c we've been burned so many times. This time I thought - he has all day to make it 3 hours home. No reason not to tell them. So I promised S he would be home to take him to karate tonight (6:00).
He was near his sister so decided to stop off this morning to see her and her kids. Totally understand and approve of this. Again, all day to make it 3 hours home. Then he decided to meet a friend for lunch. Left at 2:00 which then cuts it close if he hits any traffic to get home in time. Now there is an accident and the he has not been moving for 40 minutes and he is still 1.5 hours from home if he was moving. So he will not make it home for karate and maybe not even in time for bed time.
I am livid. Like so livid.
And I know he is going to say "how could I know there would be this accident on the road?" " Should I not go see my sister?"
Yes, asshole, you can do that, but leave more than a 30 minute window to get home.
And maybe if you have all day to spend lollygagging around spend it with your fucking kids.
Sorry. I needed to get that out here before I blow up at him.
Now I am going to leave my new job early so I can go pick up both kids and go to karate.
TL/DR MH sucks and never prioritizes his family over literally anything else in his life.

jewels, I'm sorry you are having to deal with that and I know what it's like to have an H not making his kid a priority. I never tell Cadence times or ideas of things we MIGHT do as a family, just because I never know if he will follow through or not. I hope he will get home at least in time for bedtime and you'll be able to talk things through in a manner that makes him change.

Def a 3rd time mom...my gf is due with her first in October and has the gift I sent washed and already in a diaper bag..meanwhile my diaper bag is shoved in the coat closet still filled with N's stuff🤦. I'm nesting today and just did FMLA form and the leave request from my masters, and signing kids up for the sibling hospital tour. |
