Baby was born July 15th. He came via planned RCS with a clear drape. It was seriously sooo amazing to watch him be pulled out of me and see him before he got all cleaned and burritoed, something I didn't get with my first two. My whole pregnancy I wanted it and I even reached out to the patient advocate about it. I was told that they don't even stock the clear drapes by the patient advocate, so my goal was to just get them to lower the drape so I could watch him being born still. But I made an appointment with the doctor who was supposed to be on call for my c section date on the Thursday before, hoping to hash things out ahead of time for my c section and she was completely willing to do the lowered drape, but she then brought up "what about a clear drape? I know we have them but I've never used one but I'd be happy to" , I seriously burst out crying because I was so happy, I explained that that's what I had wanted the whole time. The day came and that doctor had switched shifts with a different doctor but she said that she had already talked with him and he was willing to do the clear drape too.
The c section took a pretty long time because I had some dense adhesions, but he was born at 9:47 am after I went back at 8:55, and then it took quite awhile for them to close me up because I didn't get back to the room until 11.
I was so much more alert this time than I was with my second. I was falling asleep during my second and this time even though they took the baby out of the room I couldn't nap. The spinal was starting to wear off towards the end, thankfully not to where I felt any pain, but I could wiggle my toes again before they even closed me up, and I could feel sensations again and it was starting to worry me. Thankfully they were done before I felt any pain though and they got me back and to my baby.
He was 7lbs 4oz and 20 in long with brown hair!
My older two came up right after to see him and they were both super sweet. Literally right after they left I started to hemorrhage and they had to give me pitocin and that was seriously so painful. Almost as bad as my kidney stone. (But not quite) after the pitocin stopped though I felt a ton better and my bleeding slowed down a ton. I got up and walking around that night and I got the catheter out in the morning and up and walked around too. We were doing so great we got to go home that next night at 36 hours, it was seriously so nice not having to spend a second night in the hospital.
He's now a week old and he is doing so perfectly! He is such a good baby and barely cries.
