My mom is taking her boat out today, with Evie, for the first time this season. The flooding is finally receeding enough that the lake close to us is allowing people to put their boats on it, although all the docks are closed. It's going to feel like 110 today. I'm tempted to take 1/2 day of vacation and join them.
H has been in a shit mood the last week or so and it's really irritating me. I know the reasons why, he has talked to me about it, but damn, I get so tired of him taking it out on me and Evie.

Morning. mwhip Sorry about YH’s mood. mamabear With that decision, have you thought about looking for something with more flexibility? IIRC, you’ve been at this job since just before A was born, right? jewels How is the new job? Hope your first week went ok! Fill us in when you have time.

Anyone else having tapa issues? I’m missing posts and the only way I see them is if someone quotes the post. It’s not a lot of them, or so I think, but I have noticed this for about a week or so.
So glad it’s Friday! I’m off at 2 today and will be going home to take a nap. I stayed up late watching TV, again. I got sucked into trashy TV that I had to catch up on. When will I learn? Loading up on all the coffee.

Morning. Hottest day of the year here and I want to avoid being outside. DH is in a golf tournament all weekend so it’s just me and the kids.
I’m taking h to the chiro shortly. He’s been complaining of things hurting a lot which I’m sure is just being a 3yo, but he’s also woken up every night this week and been restless, so maybe growing pains.

Tapa is always weird for me, it doesn't always open to the last post I read, so then I have to scroll back through and find it, then it goes out of order. It's dumb.
H said he would see how the day goes and we could decide about going to the lake after work, so there is hope. I guess I won't burn PTO...but I may work through my lunch and leave around 3 or so.

Busy day at work. It’s the day I check to make sure or venders got paid for the work they did. I have a meeting that really should be a manager meeting but M doesn’t want to go alone. I have a walk for a potential project. Then my director is doing a movie day to watch Iron Man. I want to go but won’t be able to stay the whole time so I don’t know if I should go.

I have a hair appt at 12 with the girl that does my sister’s hair. Hopefully my niece will be successful at putting H down for a nap. She feels terrible that last night did not go well.

It's a noon day for me, then I have an appointment at the bank to get Cadence's trust set up. I've already got all the documents and everything completed, I just have to decide how to invest it. I figure since we have 13 years I can go fairly aggressive. Plus, I'm an aggressive investor with my 401k. I like to see big gains, hate the big drops, but I have enough time that if there is a big loss it can be fixed.

I'm pretty pissed about dc again. Yesterday MOther Goose was coming to read stories to them. It was on the calendar, I had talked it up to Cadence. I pick her up yesterday afternoon and asked her if she had fun. "We had to miss it. They said it was only for the little kids." ....MY KID IS A LITTLE KID!! SHE'S 5 YEARS OLD, SHE WANTS TO FUCKING HEAR MOTHER GOOSE AND IT'S ON THE CALENDAR!
So under my breath I say, "one more month, one more month" and Cadence goes, "one more month til my new school?!?! IN my new school will they make me watch movies all the time?" The dc has been making them watch movies every day. Making them. They have to all sit SILENTLY and watch 2-3 movies. WTF??? ....one more month....one more month...

She wants to get into babysitting since there’s tons of kids in this neighborhood. I told her last night shouldn’t count since they don’t usually sleep in the same room.

klong11 you have every right to be angry. You don't pay for her to watch movies all day...that's for you to do as a parent and get stuff done at the same time. what the hell are the workers doing while the kids are watching movies? I could understand maybe 1 movie a day, for the kids who don't nap, so they have quiet time. But not multiple.

I could understand maybe 1 movie a day, for the kids who don't nap, so they have quiet time. But not multiple. None of them nap. They are downstairs in the school age area now. There are so many options of things they could be doing instead. And they are giving kids timeouts for talking during "movie time". They don't want to watch movies every freaking day! Let them do their own thing. There are arcade games, foosball, legos, dress up, musical instruments, books, coloring. So many other options and a giant area. Stop with the timeouts for everything and forced movies. Several parents have complained about the excessive time outs. My kid is getting 3-4 timeouts in the hour and a half between when her regular teacher leaves at 3:15 and when I pick her up. Thats impossible!
I have emailed them and spoken with her regular teacher. I doubt anything will change.

We're taking the boys to chuckie cheese. The heat index is bad this weekend. Supposed to be a real feel of 115 today and tomorrow. So indoor activities it is.

@klongoria sorry if I missed this, but did C recently change dcs? I thought she went to a more structured school with parent camera? This seems unlike them, and I'd be pissed too! No change. It is still the same school, but during the summer she got moved downstairs with the school aged kids. There are no cameras down there, though I wish there were and there probably should be. I thought there would be more structure too, but I guess during the summer it's more of a free for all. They aren't learning shit even though there are supposedly themed weeks with projects each week. She enjoys all the field trips, but I just wish there was more to it. She's been at this dc her entire life, so I was hoping we could continue to use them for summers, but now that I see how unorganized and lack luster their summer program is for these older kids, I will be looking for a different place for her next summer. I've had a lot of issues with office staff just in the past year, with them constantly changing and no one seeming to know what is going on or even knowing who the kids are. I love all of her past teachers though. Absolutely love them. The office just sucks.

Thanks for checking on me lahdeedah vino! First week has been good! I e been in trainings and crazy - been reading along but having a tough time finding time to actually post. Everyone seems really nice so far. And I think I’m getting the hang of how things are done here. It is odd not being the person who just knows everything, since that’s been my role for 20+ years, but overall I’m good

klong11 I mean, what are you paying them for?? Not cool DC. My problem with one of M’s old DC was during the summer, it was mostly playing outside. No sort of instruction or other creative play. So I’m paying almost $700 a month to watch my kid play outside all day?

@ladeedah as always, great memory! I want to stick it out here at least until April 2020 so I'm eligible for my pension. But on top of all that, I need of figure out my next career step, and it it's in this business or if I make a major life change to do something outside of 9-5. But short term, I like my company and team , however the work has changed a bit since the restructure so I might want to find a new role at the company soon anyway that better uses my skills Gotcha! I would want to stay for the pension , too.

We only have 1 month left and Cadence doesn't want to leave, because her friends are there. Most of her friends will not be going to the same school as her, so I'm riding it out for the rest of the summer.

It's a steamy one! I'm glad the kids have water play. The trader Joe's right near my office opened today and I went to the grand opening, it is LOVELY. And they sell beer and wine since it's in the city🎉
We are driving most of the way to the beach tonight. The VRBO manager said early check in was an option, but now she says most likely won't happen. So hopefully we can still find a parking spot at the beach and enjoy the day. I have packed most of my clothes already which is shocking, and will pack everything else tonight while we wait out traffic. I may try to do a phone detox, we shall see.

Cass felt horrible last night. I felt so bad for her. Her fever finally broke during the night though and she's doing better today so we'll stick with our plans of heading to OR tonight after work and the girls staying with my parents next week. Maddie was so sweet taking care of her.
I'm really bummed. Last night I found out our TKD instructor is moving out of state in a little over a week. I had a feeling something was up. We've been with the school for almost 3 years. He's great with kids and adults. He works well with women (not a macho dickhead and very encouraging) and has a good sense of humor. TKD is my therapy and peace of mind. It makes it so I don't dread the weekdays because I always have something fun to look forward to in the evenings. It's going to be cluster for a while until they find a replacement instructor. A couple of the names mentioned as possibilities for the interim really sucked. I hope they find a good permanent replacement because the thought of leaving the school makes me really sad. We were planning on sticking it out for the long haul and it's up in the air now.
