I got a mani while H took the boys to swim. Then I went to the gym but the parking lot seemed too full for my liking so I left. That’s how my working out is going. We plan on grilling and swimming this afternoon. I invited my parents but they are at a funeral museum...?

Happy as a clam. Much better than watching captain marvel til 11pm. There’s also a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream underneath all that. Upon hearing the movie was Captain Marvel I may need to rescind my early comment. I would not be doing my avatar justice otherwise 😑

I was hoping for a Pixar movie.

Guys! E stepped over the pool side today!! She of course was holding my hands, but she lifted her foot all the way and set it down outside the pool, weight shifted and tried to get her other foot out.
Im so proud!

Also can I show off the baby’s haircut? Everyone (H, MIL, and my mom) is angry at me for cutting it but it was getting ridiculous. He looks so much older.

curmudgeon he does look older and 🥰 super adorable still! That’s a great haircut. Did you do it? Lil fella’s hair is also getting ridiculously long, while I so want to cut it, I’m afraid of doing it cos he’s incredibly squirmy. I might attempt trimming around the front in the bath like I did the last time. I need help 🤦🏻♀️. Your shaved ice excursion sounded much better than a late night movie esp. with it going till 11pm. Now I’m craving a Malaysian shaved ice. I like how serious eats describes it as a snow cone gone beserk 🤣 link Taitai, I’m sure you’ve had it and I’m almost certain Thais have their own version. Although IMO Filipino halo-halo takes the cake linkdoodlemommy how exciting to be all moved into your new house just in time to get unpacking before your 3rd tri hits and you start getting more tired. mommabakes glad to hear you’re getting to STTN! OMG, ladies, So sorry CoachTsWife, Taitai, I had no idea DS1 still doesn’t STTN at 4! What does he do when he wakes? Is he a light sleeper? I don’t think I’ll survive. danvers how are your home remodeling project going?

duskymonkey lol no way would I attempt to cut his hair. I took him to a kid place and he screamed like she was cutting his arm off the entire time. He was super squirmy and flinched every time she touched him but she somehow managed to get it pretty even! I can’t say I’ve ever had a snow cone with beans and corn. That sounds...not good to me.

So far we’re having a pretty good weekend with the exception of lil fella puking yesterday between the library and grocers which is barely 3 miles ☹️ We made it without an incident to the library which was like 12 miles so I really don’t know what to make of it. On a less gloomy matter, I made pizza and fudgesicles this weekend and it was so good and super duper easy. August Blooms fudgesicle recipe is gluten free link Taitai a lil America you could bring back home with you when you return. The recipe fits perfectly in the ikea chosigt moulds and the right size for the kidlets. This am the boys got to watch the F1 race which was perfect as all the bed linens needed to be changed so I had a chance to do that without the boys jumping on the beds and getting tangled up in the sheets and duvet covers. Can’t wait to sleep on the fresh crisp linens tonight. Now that the studio has successfully and officially moved as of Friday, I’m also pretty excited to see how my commute will be tomorrow being I don’t have to go through downtown. My boss said they still had a few items left but all the important things and IT is at the new space. All my colleagues seem pretty excited for the change of scenery.

cythe Yay for E! Wohoo, I’m so happy for both of you!!! doodlemommy That is a ton of house stuff going on! I hope everything gets done and you are moved into your new place quickly! Keep us updated! duskymonkey Oh yes....we are very familiar with all of the various shaved ice treats in Asia! The Korean version is the most popular in Thailand right now —> patbingsu. I like it, but my favorite Asian dessert has to be mango sticky rice, probably because it’s local and I eat it so much 🤣. The halo halo from the Philippines is too sweet for me! Yeah, and DS1 is just the worst sleeper ever. When he wakes up, it’s always that he needs to go potty or drink water. He never wets the bed, and has been sleeping without any type of diaper since he was like 26 months, so I guess I’m glad he wakes up to pee (and doesn’t wet the bed)...but I don’t think at this point that he really has to go. It’s more like he doesn’t want to sleep all by himself all night and uses the potty as an excuse to see DH MOTN. Ugh....hopefully he’ll cut it out soon. At least DS2 is a good sleeper - thank goodness. ETA - that fudgesicle recipe looks awesome! We have those same moulds from IKEA already. Going to try it out once we get home for sure! Thanks for sharing!

So, we’re heading home in less than a week, and we’re ready to go back. It’s been great seeing family/friends and doing lots of America type stuff, but I’m also really tired. So many social obligations, so many visits....it’s like every day of this trip has been scheduled with some thing to do or someone to visit....for 5 weeks straight....😩. It’s been a marathon.
I blame our huge families and their extreme friendliness. 🤣😂😅
I am dreading packing everything up - I hope it all fits in our luggage!

My parents are back from their trip abroad to Europe hiking Tour du Mont Blanc so we snuck away to see them for a long 3-day weekend since it’s been awhile for the girls. I am super eager to get back and work in my classroom but trying to chill because I know it’s good for the girls to spend this time here. I just get antsy right before school kicks off.
The plan is the swim tomorrow morning in their pool so the girls take a loooooong nap on the way home 🤞

Taitai I bet you all are eager to get back to your routine. duskymonkey H is supposed to be putting up the towel bar while we are at my parents and the bathroom project will be finished. I am going to hold off on “just painting” for awhile while my budget recovers 🤣😂🤣 cythe just so much excitement E!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet her therapists were thrilled to hear that too!

cythe Such exciting news about E! Great progress! duskymonkey Thanks for the recipe! Costa Rica has a shaved iced dessert called a Churchill. It’s with condensed milk, powdered milk and a sweet red syrup, the ones you posted are like that but on steroids. They look like a fun treat once in awhile. Taitai 5 weeks is a long time to be away from home as out of your routine. Did you end up buying a lot of stuff to bring back this time? doodlemommy Hopefully everything comes together soon. How’s the pregnancy been going?

August Blooms We did end up doing quite a bit of shopping at Target, Amazon, and various online retailers. I really hope it all fits when we start packing up this week! America is just...so much great stuff for so cheap! It’s easy to spend money here, and I think my wallet will be happy when we are back home 🤣

danvers what an incredible experience for your folks! I can only imagine the scenery is to die for in that region. Tell me, did they traverse through the Italian and Swiss alps too? Did they go on their own? How long was their trip? Taitai I can't believe you're already about to go back. Where did the summer go. Ah PBS brings many many memories of my bachelorette days in the wee hours of the balmy summer mornings errr. nights. There was a Korean bakery which was like open 24 hours in K-Town in NYC. My friends would sometimes hit that after a late night out in town. I can also totally see halo halo being too sweet with all the preserved sweetened fruit. I have had it with fresh fruits and it's definitely much better that way IMO but yeah halo halo certainly tops all shaved iced around the world that I know off. Good luck with packing and if it don't fit, just get a box haha! I can't imagine all the luggage with the kids. You're going to need a couple of songtows lol. August Blooms, I looked up the Churchill and it looks good and I now want to totally look up all the shaved ices in every culture!

So my commute to work now has been reduced by about 10-15 minutes I think, and in addition to the 15-20 minute walk, I have well more time to work hah! Hard to time cos the route I took was getting paved so it took me the same time to get to and from work. The route is going to be used for the bike race part of the Ironman this weekend so they may be finished before then otherwise it would be supremely evil to ride in the loose gravel and there would be lots of pissed off athletes. I also had to reconfigure my workstation because during the IT migration, they wiped out all my settings and preference panels that I had customized. It is not fun. In other news, we have reached a milestone iwht DS. He has stayed dry throughout the night for over a week straight now! Lil fella is slowly coming around with his poopcidents and is letting us know when he's gone #2 so I guess it's good then.

I have been googling halo halo and fell down a rabbit hole of Filipino dessert places in Houston and now I have a list of places to go. It all looks so yummy.
