DH is off for the next 5 days and the girls are already asleep (woo!) so we're having drinks and watching prison documentaries 👍

27/150....18%...and I kinda cheated on one of my answers. I was at the base of the Calgary tower thingy, but we never went up it. Canada is pretty awesome, but those are some amazing things to see/do in our country! I want to do them all now! #lifegoals

DH is off for the next 5 days and the girls are already asleep (woo!) so we're having drinks and watching prison documentaries 👍 Which one? I love Locked Up. I binge watched a ton of episodes right before I started working for the prison and made myself afraid to start my new job. FTR my office is not in a prison, but I did go onto units occasionally. Not really anymore since I went part-time though. We used to watch Lockup on MSNBC...There's actually a channel on YouTube called "prison documentaries" so we're watching one on Angola right now. It's pretty interesting!

in laws were flying in today on allegiant. 27 allegiant flights cancelled without being rescheduled. it appears pilots are on strike. i am going to be pissed if this weekend falls thru. who wants to bitch on twitter for me? Eeek...I just booked my boss, his family and nanny on allegiant in 2 weeks. Now I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this to make sure we don't need other plans. Hope your in-laws find a new flight!

There were five I could have checked but didn't fully do it all - e.g., I had a date night at the hotel du glacé, toured the rooms, drank at the bar - even participated in a synchronized dance - but did not stay the night.

lemon200 big hugs. I know that struggle, and those feelings, all too well. I also have hypothyroidism and have struggled with my weight and body image my entire life. I want to warn you that synthroid isn't a magical weight loss drug. It will help with energy though, which will help you exercise or be more active overall, which are always good things and are shown to improve our mood and productivity. So, I think you'll feel a lot better, but it may not be from quickly losing inches. Remember, you are a badass, beautiful woman and wonderful mother. The number on the scale doesn't affect that. Thanks girl! That means a lot!

Also, a date night at the restaurant in the Calgary tower is cool. It's a rotating restaurant so you get to see all views of the city. Beautiful.

Tim Horton's is our major national coffee chain (although I think it was actually bought out by an American company a couple years ago). But Canadians LOVE their Tims. And once a year they have "Roll up the Rim", where you roll up the rim of your cup and there's like a 1 in 6 chance of winning a prize, mostly donuts and coffee - but there's are cars, trips, cash, bbqs, tvs, etc. But it's like a huge cultural thing here. And they used to have so many commercials for roll up with people trying to roll their tongue and make the "rrrrrr" sound. Rrrrrroll up the rim to win. Lol, don't judge us. It's not a 1 in 6! I swear since Burger King bought Tims I think there is a conspiracy and that there aren't as many prizes!!! I didn't win once in the winter campaign and I haven't won yet!

Pizzaslut I hope getting back one your routine helps. RunsforWineandCarbs I am also looking forward to wine tomorrow. lemon200 hey girl! I've seen you, you're gorgeous! Did anyone watch Rupaul's Drag Race?? I'm dying to talk about the finale but don't know anyone else who watch it!
I went out to dinner with a bunch of girlfriends tonight and when I got home the kid across the street was fighting with his girlfriend. He was all up in her face and then he shoved her a few times. I was so conflicted whether I had to get involved. It was just on the precipice of me saying something. I went to our front door and called DH to come down while I kept watching them. I think the guy noticed people watching because when H got downstairs and was watching he didn't touch her again and he went inside leaving her outside. He also kicked his dog. I feel conflicted about not saying anything. What would you have done?

MMmmm, roti. My husband got me hooked on those when he was living in Grenada. So good. I used to go to this little Caribbean place in NE near Catholic for roti....so good! (You're in DC right? I'm second guessing myself.) Just replying to yesterday's post to confirm that, yes, I'm in DC. My husband works near Catholic - what's the Caribbean place??

lemon200 I 100% buy into the Burger King conspiracy! I never win anymore either. we were like 1/20 in the winter. Also I'm not sure what I would've done. I would want to call the cops but I also know I would worry that would make it worse for her. I think I would've said something to her, maybe given her some hotline numbers if I had time?

lemon200 - Sorry for the late reply, I would have called the cops if it escalated to more than shoving. We had neighbor kids that were fighting once in a shared overflow parking space. Yelling, shoving, throwing personal items. One of the parents were yelling at them before someone called the cops and the guy threw glass on the ground behind her car in hopes to puncture the tires. When it de-escalated another neighbor went out and cleaned up the glass. The guy was asking why he would clean it up and the response was because no one else should risk a flat tire because of a fight. H was ready to call the cops, but she left and he went inside.

It was over on 12th St, near the CVS...I don't have any clue if it is still there, just a take-out place. I dated a guy for a few years that lived over there in Brookland!
