How is that even possible? Any exciting plans for the 4th?

Really, really hoping July treats us better than June.
Z was up twice last night so still not great, but not horrible either.
My BIL is having a bbq so we'll spend the afternoon with them on the 4th. No fireworks since J is terrified of loud noises and it's long past bedtime.

We will go over to my parents' on the 4th. For once I'm not working that day, since it's a Thursday. They'll cook something and my ILs are going to come also.
I have a physical at 2:30 and I am starving. I ate a protein bar and yogurt for breakfast at 3:30am but that is all long gone. I'm going to grab food on my way home from that.

We went to the local 4th of July parade on Saturday. It was also the first weekend of temps in the 90s so it was miserable (for MH and me anyway). I spent most of yesterday getting ready for our little 4th getaway. We're heading up to Wisconsin with my family. I did a bunch of laundry and started packing the food and kids' clothes. I hope to tackle my clothes tonight so I can do laundry tomorrow if I need to.

We're going up to OR for my MIL's memorial for the weekend - H left Saturday, so yesterday I prepped my kids for the week, and started packing. I work through Wednesday, and thankfully we do not fly out until Thursday afternoon, so I have plenty of time to pack. H was able to take the car seats with him, so he can have them installed when he picks us up from the airport. Family friends up there have an awesome view, and we'll be able to watch 10-15 fireworks shows all at once! Too bad it's light until nearly 10 up there. My kids will be a mess, but we'll figure it out.

We are in gulf shores. Mh and I got really burnt yesterday after 4 hours at the beach (with no sunblock 😑). I put it on the kids but not us.
Today we are going to a historical place and alligator alley. I'm hoping to hold an alligator!

We are having a small BBQ. Just my Inlaws and maybe my parents if they come back from the beach early enough. H looked at my food list and asked how many people were coming. I always have too much food. 😬🤷♀️

We are going to my cousins. We are supplying fireworks.
I’m ready to be done nursing. Unless it’s the first or last nursing session of the say, dd is near impossible to nurse. She detaches constantly, she doesn’t feed long. By the end of the weekend I’m early engorged. I’ve tried all of the advice. I’m tired.
One month to go.

Awwww, happy birthday!!
L’s last day at his current daycare center is tomorrow and I am kind of sad for him to leave. I am so excited for his new daycare, but it will be weird to walk out of the current place tomorrow and not go back. It’s crazy how much he has grown and changed in the short time he’s been there!
Also, I am PMSing like crazy and frustrated at work and keep letting my thoughts wander to just picking up and moving closer to my family. DH would never go for it since he likes where we live and wouldn’t want to leave his current job. But I can’t help but daydream what it would be like to have family nearby to watch L and just have a change of scenery.

And we're back to being inconsolable at night. sigh.
I think I'm done pumping. I didn't pump at all yesterday and was fine. I was full, but never leaked or anything.

What about a small pillow PennyCandy? I feel like our kids are old enough for them. Charlie has been sleeping with a blanket for months. A lot of times he pulls it near his face. Have you tried introducing a lovey? Simple fixes like this never worked with DD, who was a bad sleeper still at this age. Might be worth a shot.

So we made impromptu plans for this weekend and will be going to the Wisconsin Dells on Saturday/Sunday. My gripe is that they do not allow check-in until 4pm and I have no idea what I’m going to do about DD’s afternoon nap. I have a feeling she’s going to be a mess. I hope she’ll sleep in the stroller.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can add in a lovey, pillow, and blanket. It's hard to know what's going on with him. He seems just fine during the day. It's only at night that he's like this. It's the same as when he had his first couple of ear infections, but no fever. He's been chewing on his fingers and drooling so it could be teething. He was up 3 times last night. I didn't get up for the last one though. He cried for a few minutes and put himself back to sleep so I know he can do it. I sent in a ton of extra snacks for daycare today thinking if he ate more during the day that might help.

Ugh PennyCandy. I am sorry. I remember feeling so frustrated with DD. I thought that by a year old things would be better, and they weren't. Like I said yesterday, none of the easy, "normal" fixes worked. I thought she would never STTN. I think she would get up 2 times and then be up for the day or I would try to nurse her in bed at like 5 am everyday. She was dependent on nursing to get back to sleep. I can't remember are you still nursing? Do you have to nurse him to get him back to sleep?

He can fall asleep on his own just fine when I'm not around. Occasionally when I let him cry/fuss, he falls back to sleep too so I know he's capable. I offered a bottle last night because I was pretty much empty and he absolutely refused it, turned his head, arched his back, and cried. If I send DH in, it makes him more upset and he gets to the point of coughing/wheezing.

Have you thought about finding a sleep consultant?

BF question:
We are going to a 4th party tomorrow and having the kids sleep over the ILs. DD normally nurses around 3pm before her nap, before bed and then in the am around 7. I plan on nursing her at 2 before we drop them off and then won't nurse again until 9 the next morning. Will my boobs still get engorged or will I be fine. I didn't make it this long with DS so I have nothing to compare it to.

The 2nd week after the tonsillectomy has been way worse. Dd refuses to take her meds and she screams and moans so loudly. She gets very angry and violent when she wakes up to her throat hurting.Ugh, I cannot wait for this to be over.

Wow! We stayed out pretty late last night and the baby did so good! Both kids are still asleep! Today is DD1’s birthday so we are going to go to an indoor amusement park. She will love it.

We all had a good time at BIL's yesterday. The food was good and the boys were well behaved, but into everything. I was feeding Z ice cream at the bbq and he was dancing in my lap and kept going "num.num.num." So freaking cute. He also started taking single steps on his own. We may have a month or so left before he takes off.
He was up between 1:00 and 2:00 last night and every time I was just about to sleep the neighbors set off those screamer fireworks so I'm tired as usual.
I think DH got whatever J had last week and has had a high fever in the evenings. He's coughing quite a bit though too. I'm a little worried he might have pneumonia. I should listen to his lungs.

We had fun yesterday. I didn't go back to bed after feeding Haley at 5:30. So I had potato salad made and the rest of the cleaning done by 8. It was so weird that my ankle started hurting. Like I was limping around. DD1 wanted to swim so H took her and I enjoyed quiet while Haley napped. Everyone enjoyed the food. It's nice getting together with just our parents.
Haley did great at fireworks. Then I fed her while we waited for the traffic to clear out. Came home, offered her the other side and she passed out. 😉
