I know this board is pretty slow, but if anyone is out there, could you help with our middle name selection? Baby girl due in August will be Alexandra NN Alex.
I want to honor my mom’s side of the family. Mom’s name is Elizabeth Dianne and she goes by Dianne. My MN was Elizabeth until I changed it to maiden name.
I don’t love Alexandra Elizabeth. It feels too long and Elizabeth feels a bit like a filler MN. I actually really love Alexandra Elise but is it a stretch to say Elise honors my mom?
Sorry, this got long, but please vote if you made it this far.

I chose Dianne. I think they are all beautiful and you can’t go wrong but I chose Dianne because it’s your mother’s name and you want to honor her.

Dianne or Elise. I think Elise is a short form of Elizabeth along with being its own name.
I would steer away from Elizabeth, mainly because when you have to use her full name, it’s a mouth full. (DS2 is a Alexander, nn Alex, and it’s definitely a mouth full when I need to use his full first name).

I think using Elise would be just fine. A friend of mine honors family members by using the first initial (example aunt’s name is Kaylee, but her daughter’s MN is Kay). As long as your mom and daughter know it’s to honor her, that’s all that matters.

Alexandra Dianne ended up being our choice! Baby girl arrived 8/7. Thank you all.
