Anyone going to stock up their freezers? I'll probably start around 36 weeks, but need to start making a list of what I want to make. I did this with DD and it was a life saver. Especially the lunches/breakfast items.

We don't have a very big freezer, but I know we can probably fit at least 4 casserole dishes and some wraps/burritos
Things on my list already:
Black bean and quinoa freezer burritos-https://www.heynutritionlady.com/black-bean-and-quinoa-freezer-burritos/ Lasagna roll-ups-https://thrivinghomeblog.com/spinach-lasagna-roll-ups-a-delicious-vegetarian-freezer-meal/ Muffins-banana and blueberry Waffles/pancakes?
I need to look at my pinterest and decide what casseroles to make.

I’ve never had much luck with freezer meals. I’m not sure if my family is really picky, I’m a terrible cook, or my vegan recipes don’t translate well...maybe all three. Those burritos sound great to me though!

I usually try to freeze at least a few things. I've done spinach and ricotta stuffed shells, burritos, and typically like to make a big pot of pasta sauce and freeze it in mason jars. I'm hoping to have more frozen this right around, if we get a separate freezer for the basement!

I am absolutely going to make freezer meals! I actually purchased a chest freezer specifically for this purpose, since our fridge freezer is soooo tiny. I’ve found a ton of recipes and lists on Pinterest, and I plan on buying from Costco as well. I think I’ll mostly be making pot pies, enchiladas, cheese stuffed shells, and breakfast stuff. I’ll probably get started on a month before my due date. I know different meats and such have different freezer life’s, so I really need to make sure all the food I’m making will last the first few months.

I will make some but I find we don’t tend to like eating too much of the same thing so I won’t go overboard. Mostly we will just rely on the instant pot or quicker meals. I will for sure do some breakfast burritos though. I loved having those on hand when DD and DS were newborns!

We'll have to see how big the freezer is in the new apartment when we get there, but definitely will have some freezer meals. Last time I was glad to have and will likely make again: Banana bread muffins Chocolate chip muffins Breakfast burritos (egg, sausage, cheese) Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (both baked and raw to bake fresh) Taco meat (to put in shells or on salad)
Likely will make: Baked ziti with meat sauce and veggies mixed in Some kind of potato casserole

So far I’ve done freezer black bean quinoa burritos, tofu scramble burritos, Alfredo penne casserole with mixed veggies, baked pumpkin pasta bake, banana bread, and banana pancakes.
Today I plan on making “chick’n” pot pie and banana muffins.

Does anyone have luck with freezer meals that you store in Ziploc bags? We don't have a ton of freezer space at the moment so I think that's our only option.

Suck out the air with a straw. Double bag things which are liquidy or wrap individual portions in plastic wrap then put in the bag together. We did: Lasagna Spaghetti sauce Taco meat Baked ziti Burritos

Thanks! I tried to delete the new thread but I'm too incompetent at proboards.

Made the chick’n pot pie last night. I think if I make it to Sunday I’ll make one more freezer meal. Thinking spinach lasagna roll ups.

My freezer meal cooking has amounted to buying freezer meals from the freezer section! Oh well.

Making progress on freezer meals but really came here to say how ironic and amusing it is to be cooking food I currently do not find appetizing. But I know I'll want it as soon as this baby is out!
White chicken lasagna - DONE Spaghetti sauce - Planned for this weekend Taco meat - Will do next week when we eat tacos Baked ziti - DONE Breakfast burritos - DONE Mac n cheese with broccoli - Planned for this weekend Banana bread - DONE Banana muffins - DONE Blueberry muffins - DONE Meatballs - DONE
Today I'm making chocolate chip lactation cookies with the toddler. Will freeze some cooked and some uncooked (in balls).

Breastfeeding doesn't help me lose weight bc it makes me so hungry!

Way to go, marshian! I made 6 freezer crockpot meals and then bought a pot roast thing for the crockpot. That's about the extent of it!

thinkchocolate05 - Mmm, corndogs! We get tired quickly of delivery/takeout so are motivated to have a stocked freezer.
