H and I are due for a vacation. We will probably go in September or October for our anniversary and probably only 4 days. I want to go somewhere warm but H is not a sit by a pool all-day kind of guy so there needs to be activities too. We want to stay in the states and don't want a long drive from the airport (eliminating the Florida keys or the Outer Banks). Our go to is Vegas but I want to change it up a bit. We're considering New Orleans but I'm open to any other warm state-side destinations!

Ummm hellooooo San Diego!
Seriously. It is a great mix of relaxing beach and activities. And September and October are our hottest months (which may be a negative depending on what you want- could be anywhere from highs of 80-105 dry heat, last couple years have been pretty hot). We have a major airport very close to downtown.

Richmond, VA (usually still in the 60s/70s that time of year, there's an absurd amount of stuff to do and delicious restaurants, airport is about 30 minutes from downtown, we live nearby). Charleston, SC (haven't been, but have heard great things) If breweries are your thing, RVA is the place to visit lol.

Phoenix? Warm, and great hiking if you're into that. San Diego is better, but I'm going for variety

I haven't visited the east coast really at all but it's on my list so I will definitely keep it in mind!
