Morning!
Josie is going to stay at school for the whole day, so Charlie and I are here — cleaning his closet out, going to buy new curtain rods for the family room and I’d like to get him over the playground once it warms up some.

Morning! Day of cleaning and grocery shopping over here. Thinking we will do lunch at the park. I wish I were drinking a mimosa and binge watching some sort of trash tv.

Morning! Back to work over here. My manager is out this week, and early next week I want to talk to her about the whole going down to 80% work hours (work 4 days a week, take a pay cut) and I'm nervous. Like, am I making the right choice financially, for my family, for my career? Maybe I should just suck it up and stay full time, my job isn't high pressure and I like it. I just feel like our weekends are too hectic and things are slipping, like meal planning. And having an extra day with the kids would be awesome, especially before L starts kindergarten and I lose that chance with him. Gah brain is too overloaded for a Monday! I feel that way, too. I would love it if I were able to work 4 days a week. That way my weekends could be spent with doing fun things rather than cleaning/laundry/meal prep.

mamabear & tgrimes I work three days, Dh works four, it does help a lot, but some how the days off get filled in sooo quickly. Especially shuttling everyone around. ETA i can recommend it to anyone if it’s a financially viable option! I loooooove my one on one time with dd!

Morning. Both girls have dentist appts this morning. For some reason I had crazy dreams last night of showing up to the wrong place and then being late. So weird, because I have none of those worries in real life. I invited a couple of friends over this afternoon to bring their kids to play. mamabear good luck with the talk. Maybe you could proposition it as a trial period thing and if it doesn’t work out for everyone you could go back to full time.

I agree with weekends being too busy and feeling like I have no time. The best thing I do for myself, is a cleaning company. I have them come in once a month and do the cleaning that I hate. On weekends, we vacuum and I clean the kitchen up. I will occasionally clean the bathrooms, but not often (if we have people coming over or they're bad). But usually, once a month is good. There are also only 3 of us (plus the 2 dogs) and we are gone pretty much all week.

trtlcrzy I had weird dreams last night too. In one, I was a bridesmaid in someone's wedding, but I didn't know anyone there. So I was just wandering aimlessly. The other dream, I agreed to babysit, but took my 2 kids (!!!) without mentioning that to whoever I was babysitting for, then couldn't find their house. I missed the street they lived off of, so I turned on the next street and the only way through was to go shopping through a store. Causing me to be even later. I never made it, my alarm woke me up.

I'd have to pay for full time daycare because our school only offers 3 days a week or 5 days. So H would still be going on the day I was off and then I could do all the laundry/cleaning/meal prep etc.

mamabear , I worked P/T for about 1.5 years after B was born and it was the best. S stayed in school and I got the 1 on 1 time with B, but occasionally I would put B in school and take S out for special days. I miss it. I am hopeful that it works out for you. Edit - I See your situation doesn't necessarily offer the same flexibility mine did. But I still recommend it.

Yeah it’s not high pressure, but you still can’t get stuff done at home while you’re at work. A day will probably lower your stress level at home and I think that will make it worth it. Good luck!

Morning!
Just work today. Probably add some online shopping in, too. I slept ok last night, but feel so tired. I think not having my regular coffee is affecting my energy levels. Need caffeine!

I work 2-3 days and I love it! Typically Saturday we clean and are productive. Sundays are typically lazy on that sort of thing and then I make up for it Mondays. I love my days off because we do fun stuff and I typically use A's naps to do all the things around the house.

Morning! I'm working from home today so I can sneak off to catch a bit of Col's field day. They seem to make a pretty big deal of it and he's super excited. I wish everyday was so easy getting him up! Other than that, I need to talk to my manager to make sure no one actually expects me to jump on another plane and head to San Fran for a damn 2 hour meeting. I'm thinking that the guys managing the account made a major miscalculation by not getting us altogether during the conference a week and a half ago. I just hate looking like the one being inflexible when the ask is ridiculous and a massive waste of $$ given that we were all under the same roof just recently.

Morning girls!
We made it to the party last night...almost two hours late.
But it was super cute and everyone had a good time. Baby E (can I still call her a baby? ðŸ˜) looked adorable.

We have an appt tomorrow morning with the infectious disease doctor! That was fast! I hope they can provide some answers and insite. Although, infectious disease would not be my first choice..... easily treatable disease maybe.

I dont feel good today. I keep alternating between hot and chills and feeling like I'm going to pass out. All I've done as far as work is send a few emails. Otherwise I'm camped on the couch. Faithful Zorro just follows me around. He wont leave my side.

Hi! We met some friends at the park in our 'hood this morning and the kids played for over 2 hours. It's beautiful here today--high in the mid 70s, downright chilly in the shade. B starts swim lessons tonight at the rec center; he'll be doing more stroke-work so he is super excited. Camp starts tomorrow so *I* am super excited about that

Hi hi - class mom duty today, it's the lead teachers bday and I forgot to get a gift card yesterday, so had to go get a Visa gift card and drop off the orchid I bought yesterday. Then went to my 24 week appt and met with a different doc in the practice that is super sweet and has 3 kids 5 and under. Uneventful visit but did say no free reign on dessert, so my Costco haageb das ice cream bar purchase was not the best life decision 🤷.
Guess I should get some work done now..

My big kids are off until Thursday so we should have gone down the shore but DH is giving the keynote at a conference today and I went to a funeral for my childhood best friend’s dad this morning. I’m going to take the kids for burgers and ice cream early before gymnastics.
