I accidentally showed up an hour early to a training so I'm currently sitting in my car, eating breakfast, listening to a podcast and playing around on my phone. It's actually kind of nice lol.

H and I are going on a treasure hunt this weekend in maine We found a 1840-1860 mariner's ledger where the person went crazy in it and wrote about hidden treasure off the coast of an island. With a map and everything. It's all coded and we spent days researching. So anyways, we're totally nerding out. It'll be an adventure Where abouts in Maine? WHY DO YOU WANT TO KNOW!!?? jk Searsport

Heyo. I’ve only been at work since 7:30 but it feels like it’s been about 838583882 hours. Ds1 has a cold and cried that his ear hurt last night. He seems a little better this morning but damn, isn’t it supposed to be summer?! C is his usual early-waking, sweet but sassy, stinker self.

Hi, all. I have about 40 minutes left of work, and then I am off till Monday, woo hoo! The ILs will be here tomorrow morning, and we have DD1's preschool grad. I am tired this week, and am getting a cold. H thinks he may have strep and is going to try to go to urgent care later. So, ugh.

Captain's Log: Day 23820483208403289 of rain.
We did get outside to play this morning between showers. Isn't it supposed to be summer-like weather?

I'm back at work after two days of training and I feel so discombobulated. Doesn't help that I had a bunch of small fires to put out right away so I'm just now, 2hrs into my day, starting my actual work. At least the day is going fast!

A neighbor's package got delivered to my house by accident. The mailer put the wrong address. I'll get it to the right person but it's from a bakery lol. I'm tempted. (And just kidding, I wouldn't open it -- God forbid it's a peanut butter product)

I am trying so hard to avoid treats at work. This morning I passed on doughnuts and then cake, but when a second cake appeared in the kitchen this afternoon I caved. My willpower can only take so much!

I had to help hold down a little girl for a blood draw at work, then I was “assaulted” with 2 very triggery news stories on my fb feed. Seriously, why do people share that shit??? I would like some sunshine, rainbows, and some baby hugs to make me feel better. Maybe a glass of wine too.

Eventful day at school today.
We had a lockdown that lasted for 35 minutes and clearly wasn’t a drill. It was scary having no clue what was happening. Then, afterwards, I was notified that MY KID HIT THE BUTTON!!! Apparently the daycare provider brought her into the main office for a visit and she somehow hit the “panic” button that notifies the police and puts us into a lockdown, and no one saw her do it. I’m still not totally sure how it happened, but my admin saw it on the surveillance footage later.

Work is too busy and my sister in law was visiting. I'm around though! Nothing exciting going on with us. DD is entertaining as always, can pretty much sing all of happy birthday now. Trying to plan a summer trip, but feel like we haven't even had time to plan one, let alone go!

Fwiw, ds2 has needed additional nurses to hold him down during blood draws and I seriously appreciate them. I can only hold so much of him down at a time. So trust that the parents (hopefully) appreciate it too! He cries like a banshee and gives dirty looks but is fine as soon as the butterfly is out of his arm.

Oh my god bethkate. While I know lockdowns are scary and nothing to laugh at, I did giggle a little when I read it was E who pushed the button. Yesterday we had a camp day with our 3rd graders. We had tents set up, cooked hotdogs and s'mores over an open fire, and played games. It is seriously one of my most favorite days but holy exhaustion. I am still paying for it this morning especially since E slept like poop. Like usual. Also, I am burnt to a crisp because we have so many rainy days and cold weather. My skin was not prepared for the sun and 70's we had yesterday.

My DS pulled the fire alarm at DD1’s school last year. Luckily it was after school hours so only the teachers were inconvenienced, but I was so embarrassed.

My DD1 is 7 today! I can’t believe how mature and responsible she’s gotten, and she’s just such a happy kid. C and I came home from the hospital last night after chemo, and I’m grateful for that. We were going to the beach today but now the weather is crappy (we’ve needed the rain though). I’m taking her to see Aladdin this weekend, and my mom, brother, and SIL will be here to celebrate.

Last night my parents took me and my H out for a fancy dinner for a belated birthday celebration. I had a martini and a glass of wine plus an amazing steak, it was fabulous.
Tomorrow I am going to dinner and a "mom" comedy show with some girlfriends and I can't wait. My friend's H is our chauffer for the night so I won't have to worry about downtown parking or how much I'm drinking. I really need a few off nights from the kids so I'm excited.

I know I shouldn’t even complain because it’s 1000x worse for the kiddo/parents in the situation but it just broke my heart a bit.
