We're at a cookout at a friend's house. All the kids were on the play ground playing. Then they let their 6 year old get his 4 wheeler out. before I could even get my boys from the play ground to tell them they could only ride with daddy- M was on it and gone... pissed would be an understatement.

Then m tells on himself that he got off the 4 wheeler and got in the pond to catch a frog.... so now hes muddy. I had a change of clothes and told A to change him. So he just sends him in the house. I go in a few minutes later and his muddy clothes are in a pile on the floor. I'm ready to go home now.

Just spent the entire afternoon at Cadence's friend's house. This is the little boy she says she is going to marry. He is going to a different school next year, so if they end up getting married 20-30 years down the road, then I'll be amazed, but she insists.
The kids had fun and the mom and I get along well, so it was cool. I did feel like we stayed too long, but Cadence kept refusing to leave.

wedding I'm with you, I enjoy HomeGoods but I have to be kid-free. It is the most stressful place ever to take kids (esp. once mine figured out there's a toy dept). tallb I'm not a TJMaxx/Marshalls shopper for your reasons, though; I don't have the patience to dig through racks of clothes. I will pay more to be able to easily get what I want. eta: would also be fine with a floor model mattress...the areas where heads/feet goes are typically covered. With that said, I've noticed floor models are typically already "broken in" (vs. how a brand new one feels in terms of firmness, etc.) so I would be double check to make sure it's in good shape. I never buy myself clothes there, I also don’t have patience for that. I like browsing around the shoes, home stuff and kids clothes though. I don’t mind going with kids if it’s a weekday morning and it’s quiet.

Tonight was like the perfect conditions to work on removing the sod. It was cool, the ground was had the right amount of moisture and it actually went pretty quick. I think I have probably 1/3 of the sod left. I am so ready to be done with this part of the project, it’s no fun. Tomorrow is also supposed to be cooler like today so hopefully I can finish. DH ditched us to go hang out with his coworkers. One is having a retirement party and another a diaper keg so he’s going to do both. I’m planning to veg on the couch.

Sunny41 and mwhip the farmers are way behind up here too. We had bad flooding when the snow melted but now we keep getting days on end of rain. It looks like this week should be mostly dry, but as we all know the forecast can change overnight.

I cant stand when people come to cookouts like this and just do not pay attention or parent their kids. Theres one kid that is just flat out being a jerk- purposely running over other kids fingers with a bike. And ramming the other kids riding bikes so they fall off. He jerked m to the ground by the back of his shirt for a toy. And hes plenty old enough to know better. His parents are not saying a word.

That sounds like their level of parenting at home too not just at parties. Maybe you could send them to weddings SIL

After hearing a few of you here say Aladdin was good, I think I want to take M. It wasn’t even on my radar, but hearing the kids enjoyed it makes me want to take him. It will be a date for just he and I. chrisy01 love the cake! Hope the party goes well tomorrow. tallb We’re bringing back our foam mattress, too. I wonder how those things get so many good reviews. My body has never ached like it has after a night’s sleep on that thing.

Now I'm a bit worried about Col's new mattress...

We got rid of memory foam after a trial period in August and went with a traditional spring mattress as well. The kids have memory foam and I think bc they’re so little and light they don’t mind or notice. I think it even might skew as firm for them. And I haven’t noticed any dips in the section they typically sleep in.

Re: Beds - we have a sleep number bed and LOVE it! I like soft and MH likes firm so it’s perfect for us. We got it 10 years ago when we bought our house. But I would love to get a new one that had the adjustable things where you can incline the backs independently on each side. That would have been super handy when I was struggling with my reflux so bad.

Meal prep and laundry day over here. After h’s nap were taking the kids to my in laws’ house so we can go out for our anniversary. I asked them to come over to babysit but MIL wanted them to spend the night. Fine by me! We’re going to see rocketman and then go to dinner. Hopefully this evening works out better than last week’s date night.

LO is in charge of putting his away and he now also helps lake socks up. He has started to help save a little time.

She will sometimes fold wash clothes and match socks, but for the most part, it's faster to do it myself. I don't mind the laundry, it's the cleaning of the house that I hate and she told me she's not my maid, so I can't really rely on her for help with that.....even though it's her stuff.

We had an eventful day yesterday. Was in the ER with L in the morning (she's fine. Allergic reaction to amoxicillin), then we had a wedding. The wedding was right by our house so we had everyone over in between the wedding and reception. I'm tired today.

Interesting everyone is returning these beds! I am actually sleeping well but I hate when I sit in the side of the bed and it feels like I'm going to slide off. Mh mentioned getting a king despite our room being small, so I may try to measure that off.
I went to Barre and played outside for a bit. Mh is going to the O's game and not taking j🙄. So I won't get anything done this afternoon.. I feel like it's a summer weekend and we need to be at the pool, seeing friends, or something summery, and we are not doing any of those things.
