We had a really nice Memorial Day weekend. May was crazy and we needed a break and it feels like we got it. So thankful. Last night I didn't have the Sunday Evening Dread I almost always feel at the end of the weekend, so that felt nice.

We put in an offer on a house yesterday 😳! They accepted all our conditions but countered on price and we just sent back our response (meeting them in the middle sort of). It’s all conditional on the sale of our house though. So we dropped the price and are going to do an open house and see what happens! So overwhelming!

Update: they accepted our offer!!! Just got off the phone with the bank confirming all the mortgage numbers. We now need to sell our house and quick. We figured out what the bare minimum to sell for was after all the fees etc and it’s definitely considerably less than what we want to get which is good. Planning on relisting at a dropped price and doing open houses this weekend in an attempt to get it to sell and quick. If not I’m sure there will be another house but this one is more than perfect.

doodlemommy congrats!!! I hope it sells quickly. Fx! When is your AS? So much excitement in your household! The long weekend threw us off completely. We forgot to take the trash and recycle out yesterday and forgot kiddos tae kwon do class today. :/ Little one is still fussy, not sure if teething or sick. 🤷♀️

We are trying not to get our hopes up too much about this specific deal working out. But still if we can sell our house and make something work in the area we want that would be great. If not the basement renos will start in the fall! A/S is Friday, I’m 19 weeks today, so crazy!

bootsorhearts1 hoping it’s teeth! I thought it was too but lil fella had a temp of almost 103 last night. He puked 2x this morning after the little breakfast he ate and refused to eat or drink since then. Still running a temp. He seemed to be doing better around noon, no puking, just no appetite and super fussy and clingy so I decided to cancel his appt. for the afternoon in lieu of him napping and resting plus he’s definitely going to hurl on the way to the dr. So 🤷🏻♀️ Well he woke up crying after 20 mins and was super fussy and upset over everything. I finally got him to calm down and nurse around 3.30 ( really don’t know if I have any milk left or he was just comfort nursing) and he fell asleep and has been asleep for almost 1 hour so I’m now stuck in the room cos he’s asleep on our bed and I’m afraid transferring him will wake him up but I can’t do anything else. Good thing I power cooked this weekend so all my mom has to do is sauté some okra ( also already cut) and make couscous. Good thing I don’t have work until Thursday

Well This gives me the opportunity to plan ds’ birthday party and I think I’ll do it on the 22. Gives me time to model his Union Pacific train and set up a calendar to get things ready for the party including sending out invites. Hoping I can get that out next week. It’s too bad a huge portion of our backyard is still bare dirt otherwise it wouldn’ve been perfect to put a kiddie pool and water slide and have hotdogs and bbq. Instead we’ll have to host indoors and could potentially use our patio but dnw kids running in and out of the house with their dusty or muddy feet.

We have had quite a bit of severe weather lately or super hot and humid. Neither is fun to be in and I’m ready for some regular summer weather - the girls just played outside Monday night after the first storms came through and it had cooled down. They just ran and played while we FaceTimed my parents. Before we knew it, it was 8:00 but neither girl acted tired. It was such a tease of what summer vacation will be (and soon!)

Well. It finally happened. After 2 years and 4 months, I got my period back today. Ughhhhhh. It was good while it lasted, uterus. I have stage 4 endometriosis, so I’m hoping that somehow breastfeeding will help keep the ill effects at bay. I don’t have much pain now, so fingers crossed!

Oh bummer Taitai . You had a good run tho! danvers we've had so much severe weather where we are as well, we have been in this crazy severe weather pattern. Last week my husband's friend's house was hit in Joplin on the 8 year anniversary of the deadly tornado that destroyed part of Joplin. (We don't live there but my H is from there and still has lots of family and friends there.) Friday night we spent about 20 minutes in our safe spot during a tornado warning - all was fine though. THEN, last night tornadoes ripped through towns just 30 ish miles from us. We have so much flooding as well - school is out now, but every day for most of the month of May we had to get online and see if the roads on my H's way to school were flooded. Ready for some normal, calm weather!

CoachTsWife Holy cow - that sounds like really scary weather! I remember being terrified of tornadoes when I was little - we would get them in the spring, but none ever touched down super close to where I was. I still remember the horrible devastation in Joplin when it was on the news. That poor town. I hope you all stay safe - yikes!

Taitai the Joplin tornado of 2011 was unreal. Complete devastation. I was single back then and lived about 3 hours away and I drove down one weekend and volunteered with a disaster relief organization. The organization was stationed at a church in Joplin just north of the devastation. A couple weeks after I was in Joplin volunteering, I met my H. On our first date I discovered he was from Joplin and come to find out, he grew up attending the church where my group was stationed out of for the disaster relief. His parents were really active in the church and his mom was also volunteering and it is likely we were there at the same time. We met online and our paths likely would not have crossed otherwise, yet I'd been in the church he grew up in, probably along with his mom, just a couple weeks before we met. We got married in that church.

CoachTsWife Wow - that is an amazing story. I think fate brought you two together! Also - I meant to tell you that H and I are going to try to watch Friday Night Lights sometime soon. I’ve heard good things and I always think of your avatar and SN when it’s mentioned!

DD and DS drove me crazy over the weekend fighting with each other. But, last night before bed we all piled up on the couch and played on DD's tablet together. DS would pop a few bubbles in his game, then reach over and kiss me. Pop a few bubbles, reach over and kiss. It was so random but so cute. Then they had to give each other the biggest bear hugs before bed. Sometimes these kids drive me crazy, sometimes they melt my heart.
Also, my mom and I planned a last-minute beach trip for this weekend. Leaving Friday at 5:00 and coming home Sunday morning. But the kids have no idea and will be super excited when we tell them Friday. DD has been begging to go to the beach lately!

CoachTsWife hey I used to work in Joplin! I travelled back and forth for about 6 months working nights. It was brutal work but I liked the town! Is there still that bar, the silent woman I think it was called? It always struck me as a little sexist but the food was good 😂

We used to go down to Joplin fairly frequently when DH's parents lived there. They moved up near us not too long after we had DS1 so we only go down there for our niece and nephews bday parties - so like twice a year. There is so much retail and so many restaurants in that town - like whoa. I'll have to ask him if he knows of that bar!

doodlemommy How exciting! I hope your AS goes well tomorrow as well as the open house. @duskeymonkey Yes I am also moving but definitely not pregnant. We bought last week and am going through the process to sell now. CoachTsWife That such a cute story, the like is for that, not all the tornados talk. We have the occasional warning but ours are weak even if they occur. It must be very scary especially with kids.

House update gets its own post, sorry it’s long!
So we made an offer last week which was accepted but conditional on financing and home inspection. Financing went through no problem, the broker was a recommendation from our local Facebook mom group and she did not disappoint, found a great rate and a super flexible lender. We had the home inspection yesterday and our general contractor came by for an extra set of eyes and to give us a basic quote for a master bath and basement Reno, since we would take a larger mortgage out to complete those renos.
Inspection came back with one minor issue, a random outlet had no electricity running to it for some reason and we requested they fix it. It’s like a $100 fix. They said no, and we briefly debated walking away since that’s a littler ridiculous. But we think it’s a case that they already had a reduction and feel their house is worth more (it’s not) and don’t want to give up another penny. So we signed off on the conditions and it’s official! We close in August.
So now we have to sell, so I’ve been decluttering and moving stuff to my moms basement to stores. Our agent is a family friend and gave us a commission discount so we have to do our staging ourself. The majority of houses here get staged so it’s expected. Luckily my sisters friend does staging and is going to give me the friends and family discount on her services. Our house is mostly in good shape and our agent does include a free consult with a stager but I need the cheap nice furniture more than someone telling me to clean up my kids toys. So decluttering is almost done and we are going to do a bit of painting next week, stager will come by and game plan and by the 12th we will be on the market.
TLDR: I bought a house and now I have to sell our house.

August Blooms How exciting!!! I hope the staging process goes well, and I think it will really help your home sell quickly. If we ever move back to the states, it would probably be to CA, where all homes are staged. They look so nice and clean that way - I am a fan. In terms of moving, are you aiming for this summer? What will your new commute look like? Excited for you!

The rainy season is starting here, which is good and bad. The good part is that the rain improves the air quality and cools the weather down a bit (and by that I mean, not 100 F, but more like a humid 90F 🤣). The bad is the humidity, increase in bugs, and the worst part - flooding. Ugh. I refuse to walk in standing water (it’s too dangerous- especially here), so the flooding limits our ability to get out every now and then.
At least we’ll be in the USA from late June - early Aug, so we can avoid some of the wet weather!

I took the girls to the zoo to celebrate our first official day of summer vacation. Pushing the double stroller up and down all those hills was no joke and I’m exhausted but the girls had so much fun. It rained off and on all day so there weren’t many people but all the animals were out and we got to ride the train many times without waiting in line.

August Blooms so exciting about the house! It all makes me tired reading about everything you need to do, hopefully your house sells quick and it’s all smooth sailing with moving in and renos! cythe hangry is a very common state for me because I wait way too long between meals and then I am ready to eat my arm. Hope the food came soon!!!!

Taitai We close on the new house August 15. It will not help my commute, we are just moving to a fully detached in the same part of town. We decided that having family close by to help out was more important at this stage than the commute. We bought on a great street and the house has room to add value.
