Hey. It’s get shit together day at my house. While H was at school S and I ran to Aldi for a couple things, then came home to clean and do laundry. I’m trying to get S to nap right now and H is having quiet time.

For the area I am in, I am in one of the more diverse areas. It's still a fairly white middle class suburb but compared to the towns surrounding it, there is more diversity. It's one of the reasons I chose that town.

There is no diversity at the school Evie will be attending, at least not in her grade, from who all attended kindergarten round up. It doesn't surprise me, I live in a small suburb 30 minutes outside of a metro area. It's the same school I attended my entire life and there were 2 families in town that weren't white, 25 years ago. That’s how the school I went to growing up was. Luckily we are now in the “big city” so H should have a diverse class, her preschool has been pretty diverse already. |

Exact same. Theres a little more now but not by much. But we are a very rural farming community. So pretty expected here. |

Hello, quickly checking in before I go dark for the rest of the week. Our user conference is this week in the Phoenix area and it's always insanity, let alone right now as we're launching a highly anticipated financial reporting project and I'm the sole product owner representing it. At least it gives me real shit to talk about vs. schmoozing. I hate schmoozing, I'm just no good at it. This conference ends up being the most exhausting week of the year, every single year. And the conference doesn't even last the whole week. Eeek.
Colin hasn't made much progress this year with his emotional outbursts, so DH is launching a tear-free challenge this upcoming weekend. I've been trying to remind Colin about better ways to problem solve than throwing a tantrum, so I need to make sure DH keeps up the encouragement as well. This stuff doesn't come naturally, we need to help him. He's done so well at school but I'd like to see some improvement with the tantrums before he starts (gulp) 1st grade.

Not good. She's lost all her hair, the last scan showed a lot of growth in the cancer. She's absolutely terrified to die because she's afraid of my cousin mistreating her kids.. And she won't move in with my mom for that reason either. She's also in so much pain she just wants to give up. She's angry and super emotional and mostly takes it out on my mom. Who does absolutely everything for her- it's hard to watch. I feel like I need to start explaining death to my kids but I don't even know where to start. |

peachsmama these books helped me explain death to LO almost 3 years ago. One is actually about death and the other is about separation but has a small part about death. It’s hard and since he goes to a religious school they talk about heaven. It helps but he still gets sad about his great grandparents

Hi!!! Work had a sneak peek for me and 1 other person (C) to our new offerings. It was crazy.
C and I had a really good talk last night, I think we need to do this once a month. We decided that E will be transitioning to her room after we get back from the wedding.

I’m sorry peachsmama. The loss of my Gma still feels raw. Spend as much time with her as you can. And take pictures of her with your kids. I regret that i didn’t take pictures the first day we saw her when my kids were with me back in August. Everything was fine. I figured I’d take pics the next day. But the next day she passed out and landed in the hospital so my kids didn’t get to see her for the rest of the week we were there. It still makes me cry that it worked out that way. |

peachsmama I’m sorry your grandma has to worry about your cousin on top of her own illness. I second snoopmommymom with take pictures but also video. I took pictures of my gma I lost almost a year ago but not really video. Now when we visit my other gma, I take video-little things like she was throwing a little football to the boys from her wheelchair one day.

So it’s more like the fish is on a bed of veggies and not incorporated. Kind of different and he loves it. |
