It's SIL wedding week. I went out yesterday and bought a dress. I will be on SC later today asking for help accessorizing.
I have an oil change today after I drop B off at school and then J and I will hit up the grocery store afterwards. I hope it goes better than our grocery store visit last week.

I'm at work and will be leaving early to for M's GT testing at the elementary school. I have a feeling the next year will be intense. Her preschool teacher thinks she'll pass but I've heard from other parents about some of the things on the test and I'm not sure how she'll do.
I need to act like Elsa and let it go. I'm aware.

What’s GT testing? Gifted and talented. It's apparently better to test them before kindergarten because the test is oral rather than written. Once they pass it, they're golden and never have to take the test again. This comes in handy in our school district because some of the schools you may be zoned to are not great. But they could get into another school through the magnet program and if they're GT it helps tremendously.

I'm just at work today (picked up shifts for today and tomorrow). Sucks being that it's a long weekend, so today would have been nice to take the boys out to the park or something... Anyway nothing exciting happening.

What’s GT testing? This! ☝️ Also, what does it mean if she doesn’t pass? Maybe when you answer those, can you explain why the next year will be intense? Can I just say, this is why I do not like that we don’t have the same standards across the country! ACT/SAT some schools want both and depending on where you go, you may need the one not generally offered at your school. My niece (NJ) was way more advanced than my nephew (ME) just in school work (I use them because they are the same age and grade) I’m comparing the work they did not their ability to do it.

I’m sure I’ve told you this before, but I have the biggest fear of bugs. More so when they are in my house or car. I didn’t realize how bad until we moved into the woods. This is why I don’t love the summer. I’m a mosquito magnet and always have been. Plus mosquito bites leave scars on me!
Otherwise, today is supposed to be warm and rainy with thunderstorms! The girls are already in their thunder shirts and don’t like that it’s raining.

If she doesn't pass she'll take it again. It will just be a written test, which I've been told is more difficult. It doesn't mean anything for right now. We just live in a shitty school district so if she's GT it makes other schools available to us that we're not zoned to. Our elementary is excellent. Middle school is so-so right now, but it seems like more people are sending their kids to this middle school now and it's boosting it's accreditation. So it will hopefully be fine by the time M gets there. High school is a big nope though. So we'll either need to be able to get into another school through magnet or GT, pay for private school or move out to Katy. I can't afford Sugar Land. Lol. The area I live in has changed drastically the passed 10 years. It used to be all original owners (so no kids anymore) which meant anyone that lived their with kids was paying for private school. There are 3 extremely close that are excellent. But now people our age with kids are moving in and they're sending their kids to public school.

I’m like you know I’m going out on maternity leave, right? Ugh that's the worst. I'm glad my boss at least has the sense not to give me anything new. One of my CWs is going out of the country for an extended amount of time and I totally expected to have to be his backup. But it sounds like that's not the case.

Yay elle! I’m so excited for you! We went to the farm today! We road a cart driven by a miniature donkey. We fed horse. A stallion who doesn’t like anyone came to me right away! He made my day. There were baby duck chicks, mini goats, they even had geese! It was amazing! I’m leaving you with Phoenix, the guy who is took to me right away!

I know y’all are probably tired of hearing about my kid’s bodily functions but now I have a new problem. He has stopped pooping completely. Last time he went was Sunday afternoon. He normally goes 2x a day. Yesterday at school he did awesome w peeing on the potty, 0 accidents. But no poop. So I google poop withholding and that freaks me out. I’m thinking of calling the ped for advice. I even brought back the little potty thinking he might be more comfortable on that. But nothing. I’m stressing out about it.

It's totally normal. H did the same thing when we first started potty training. Are you rewarding him when he goes potty? If so, make the poop reward even better. If not, then start rewarding him for pooping. If he starts to get constipated you can give him juice, miralax in juice or fiber gummies. Do you put a diaper on him at night still?

tgrimes he gets M&Ms for pee. And I thought I needed to step up my game for poop, so I got match box cars. We gave him one yesterday bc he tried and got a tic tac amount out. That’s the farthest we have gotten. We put a pull up on him for nap and night time sleep.

It took H about a month for him to consistently start pooping on the potty. It's funny how different kids are. M had no problem pooping on the potty. She was completely trained over a weekend. H still has an accident every once in awhile.

How do you even get your kid to pee on the toilet? C doesn't even try and I don't know what more to do to get him to try. He at least tries to poop by pushing but he's never attempted pee which I think would be much easier.

He at least tries to poop by pushing but he's never attempted pee which I think would be much easier. *Obviously not an expert* but what we did was make a big deal about getting rid of all the diapers and put him in underwear. Then I pumped him full of juice and waited for his first accident. When it happened, I ran him to the toilet and said pee pee goes in the potty and we want to keep our underwear dry. Repeat. When he got frustrated is when we went outside, bare bottomed, to pee in the grass. (Not originally part of the plan.) When he was noticing that he had to go and deliberately going, I put underwear back on him and started introducing the potty back into the equation.

He at least tries to poop by pushing but he's never attempted pee which I think would be much easier. With M, we started putting her on the potty before her bath. She'd see me pee and then we'd try to get her to go. Sometimes she would and sometimes she wouldn't. It also helps that my kids go to daycare and see all the other kids doing it. Maybe you can start taking him potty with you & YH. With H, he saw some other kids in his class going and started wanting to go too. He was going way more consistently than M ever did so I thought it'd be easier to train him. Lol to me. The daycare teachers say they line up all the kids every hour and try to get them to at least sit on the potty. If they don't want to, they don't force them. Once they start peeing on the potty, they reward them. My sister was a SAHM so she trained all 4 of her kids as soon as they turned 2. She pumped them with fluids and would put them on the potty every 1/2 hour. Over a 2 week period she'd extend the time to an hour.

goldenlove from my experience, it's basically lucking into it (by sitting them on there a bunch) and then once they do it a few times they start to recognize the feeling of it.

I'm going to need to take a couple days off and get serious about it. It just seems like it's never a good day. Plus I need to get my mom and MIL on the same page. My mom has already been putting him on the toilet throughout the day but I think she tries to get him to poop more than pee. I think I'm the roadblock more than C at this point.
