My NT scan went well, and it seems like they were able to get the measurements with no problem even though I’m not technically 12 weeks. Baby was wiggling around a lot in there, too!

elle when will you have your results? And your endo closing up shop like that seems more than strange! WTH! My dr said 1-2 weeks. I'm hoping for sooner rather than later, obviously.

Had my u/s today and we saw a HB. It was 141 and I’m right on track with my EDD based on temping to confirm O. I feel happy to surpass another loss milestone... only one more and *maybe* I’ll feel like I can enjoy this without constant anxiety!

I have read the entirety of Babycenter in the last two days and I need to stop. At our u/s the embryo measured ~four days behind my dates (7+2 vs. 6+5) and the FHR was 115. The internet is mildly reassuring and my previous experience is, too. But the doctor walked in talking all about worst case scenarios because the heart rate was "low."
Eery parallels with my first pregnancy and the waiting is hard. With M we went in what might have been 7+2; he measured 5+5 with a heart rate <100 (like 95 or 97). Doctor walked in and said my pregnancy was likely not viable but to come back in a week for a repeat u/s. Now he's three.
I don't know what I'm looking for; I cried for days after my first u/s with M, and I really wanted things to be easier this time.

Even before the appointment this week, I had decided to switch practices. The one I've been seeing, I really really like one of the midwives but she's unlikely to be on my care team, given likely RCS. And the office isn't close. Mh and I drove 45 minutes from our house (in the D.C. area, so it's not like we're rural) and there's a possibility we'd have to drive an hour+ to that hospital in the event of an emergency, early labor, etc. And I have some overall complaints about the quality of care last time...
Anyway, I have an appointment with the new OB next week. I hope they will be more reassuring.

They were able to see the baby's sex today!! We're having a little GIRL!! I'm so excited to have 1 of each now. Also I'm in love with our top girl name and was really hoping to use it!

notblanche, I'm sorry for the uncertainty. Hopefully your new doctor will work out better. *TW* I have been on both sides of low heartrate. With DD2, she was measuring a couple of days smaller and her heartrate at 6w2d was 112. And she is just fine and was born at full term. I also had a miscarriage after DD1 where my hcg was increasing but not doubling. When I finally got in for an ultrasound around 8 weeks I was measuring 6w5d I think with a heartrate around 100. I miscarried a few weeks later. So I understand your anxiety. Try to relax and hopefully your next appointment comes quickly.

notblanche I am sorry for the lack of bedside manner but good for you for switching practices when it didn't feel right. Do you have to wait 4 weeks for another appointment or can you ask for something sooner since you are switching and you have some concerns?

I'll see the new doctor for a repeat u/s and prenatal labs on Wednesday next week.

notblanche I had an awful experience with my first pregnancy with an OB. There were similar concerns about viability but the doc was actively and consistently pushing a D&C. It was so terrible but I was able to switch to a different practice that was so much better. When it came time to deliver I heard the first doctor’s name being called to a patient and I about lost it... All that to say. I get it, I hope your new doc has a better bedside manner, and I hope everything is smooth sailing from here out.
