Tubes are out. One of them was already coming out and the other was partially behind his eardrum. He told us when he saw that that it may require surgery if he couldn't get it. We were just there a couple weeks ago and they were fine, so I guess I’m glad we went today.

Had O’s 2.5 yo check up this morning. He’s 75% for weight and height. (32lbs/37”) She didn’t seem concerned about his tantrums and told me 3 is worse (hold me!). Both his tubes are out. The right one is stuck in a ball of wax in his ear. She tried to move it but he was not having it. She thinks it’ll fall out on its own anyways. Glad the tubes came out easy tgrimes!

Our Provincial election is today. My area has a female candidate who's main focus is technology and women's rights. But people really seem to be pushing the Conservative party (because they wrongly believe the Cs will lower taxes) which makes me nervous (the C party recently endorsed a canditate who has publicly spoken against abortion and same-sex marriage). Between that and everything we need to get ready for mom's wedding this weekend, I'm a ball of nerves and anxiety today.

+whatever to the kids likely needing braces. Both MH and I had them, so I'm not surprised.

M had her preschool graduation today. Super cute. In between songs she looked pissed off. She definitely inherited my RBF.

The weather has been gorgeous the past couple days while I'm stuck at work of course. Yesterday H went to some Lions event and I thought about taking C to a park or something but it started raining on my way home. Of course. Maybe we can do something tonight if C actually napped for my mom. He's only napped for her once in the last couple weeks since they moved in and he's usually a mess once we get home because he's so tired.
Also, construction season sucks. My parents new house already added 10 minutes to my 45 min drive when I have to pick up C. This week they also started construction on the one mile stretch of road used to get to their sub. It took me 20 minutes to get home. It's awful.

danib, way to go being involved in local politics. I can see being nervous about the conservatives. I think your mom's wedding will be awesome! From what I've read, you've got this!! goldenlove, +1 to construction season having started and already sucks! I guess I caused an issue yesterday at work *eyeroll* I took L into the women's locker room and though that is the only place to breastfeed any child if you want privacy, I've been told I have to use the family locker room. It only has 7 changing rooms and when our aquatot class of 12 families lets out, there's no place for L and I to go!?! (Not even including that fact that other classes are coming in to swim) I think the part that irritates me the most is I asked a while ago and I was told as long as he's under 5. I can't go anywhere!

That's not right Cheshie6, can you push back at all? Especially since you were told under five is okay. He's only two and a half ffs.

Well this is silly. We almost always skip the family changing rooms because there's usually too many people waiting. MH takes DS1 to the mens locker room and I take DS2 to the women's. He's 2.5, who cares?!

elle and @ jubilantsquirrel, a person who is there to support a special needs employee ratted me out so not another member or employee. Not much wiggle room as The original complaint was from members in the men’s locker room. A dad brought his daughter who was under two into the men’s locker room because the family locker room was full and they (other men) complained because they didn’t feel comfortable getting naked with a girl in there!?! But the family room isn’t big enough for the number of families they have at our Y! All parents use it for kids under the age of 11. It’s clearly in the new Code of Conduct! But the language doesn’t even allow for a male infant to be breastfed in the only breastfeeding space that is private because it’s says “no opposite genders are allowed in the gender specific locker rooms, this includes children of all ages.“

Potty training day has arrived. T&Ps appreciated. I asked my mom to come over in the morning for reenforcement. The ped yesterday was a little concerned for his readiness bc he has no issues running around in filth. Dirty diapers have never bothered him since he was born. Fingers crossed wet undies will.

H was the same way. Just prepare yourself for lots of accidents and reward him greatly for when he actually goes on the potty. Godspeed.

Good luck! When I attempted J a few weeks ago, when he had an accident in his underwear (pee) he could care less. I thought being wet would bother him but he never wanted to change his underwear! Weirdo.

So J is going through an independent phase. I Don’t remember it being this extreme with B. J wants to do everything himself.. which I love but also hate. Because he will not let me hold him in parking lots or anytime he gets out of the car. He has to walk. And refuses to hold my hand so I basically have to grab his arm and hold him while he’s screaming and yelling at me through the parking lot. He also has to dictate which way we go for walks and if we don’t go the right way he has a major meltdown. He also refuses to sit in carts and only wants to push them. Well today at the grocery store I didn’t go the way he wanted me to so he screamed at me and sat on the floor. I just walked away from him and he started running after me yelling. It was fun. I was thisclose to just walking out of the store without any of my groceries.
My grocery stores should really sell booze. They would have made a killing today.

I'm working from home today. I have no meetings and only a couple things to follow up on. It's been a slow work day so I'm glad I'm at least home.

FWIW, when potty trained DS1 he also didn't care about dirty diapers. It definitely took some effort (and more than 3 days), but he caught on fairly quickly to the concept.

OMG I remember when DS1 went through that phase. We would go on walks and I would be pulling him in a wagon and if I didn't go the way he wanted it was the end of the world! Right now DS2 wants to pick out his own clothes, which is fine, except he only wants to wear DS1's clothes. I'll let him wear one of his shirts even though they are huge on him, but he gets mad when I make him wear his own pants. Also, if I try to put him in a 2 piece pj set, he gets mad and wants to wear one of brother's shirts to bed instead.

Wyatt used to yell at me for stopping at red lights (like when he was 2). And now the twins are doing it.
I occasionally will ask if they want me to just crash into the car in front of me. Answer is always "yes."
