chrisy01 you want to drop the kids with me at the park tomorrow evening so you can rest? We’ll be there from 3:30-6 and I am just doing a picnic dinner. Feel free to swing by and leave them to play so you can convalesce, if you want. I might take you up on it. I feel worse this evening then I did yesterday. |

Omg, what a day.
Idiots put canoes and kayaks on the river today even though it’s closed due to flooding conditions. They made it approximately 1/8 of a mile before they overturned and lost their gear and were clinging to trees. One guys foot was smashed and hung in a canoe that folded up around a tree. His head was barely above water. I was the closest to the scene so they sent me in to make sure no one did anything stupid while we waited for MH and his swift water rescue team to get there with boats. I had to hike over the hills and hollars through the woods to get to them (this fat girl isn’t cut out for that 😂).
When MH got there they launched a boat and got to them. He had to get in the water in super fast current while his partner held onto him and blindly cut the guy who was trapped shoe off his foot to help free him. Once all 10 were safe and on dry land they all got tickets for violating the river closure.

Oh, and S spiked a fever this evening which helps explain the 12(!) seizures she had yesterday. I picked her up from school at 11:00 and she was a total zombie from the excessive seizures followed by her emergency meds. In a weird way I was almost happy to see the fever because it helps explain the onslaught of seizures yesterday.

And a few pics from today’s rescue...
The canoe wrapped around the tree (this was after the guy was freed).
Then a shirt one of the guys was wearing seemed fitting.
Then my pants and shoes. I didn’t wear my waterproof work boots because it was supposed to be an “office” day. So my eastlands are going to need a lot of spiffing up, once they dry out. And I had mud caked everywhere because the hillside I was on through the woods was a mud slick.

@lfige I’m sorry S is sick but at least it explained the multiple seizures. Fingers crossed she gets better quickly.

M’s first tooth came out tonight. He and MH were playing rough after bath and it was loose enough that it popped out. M was so excited and promptly FaceTimed all the grandparents to tell them. I got some chocolate coins from Target on Easter weekend for the tooth fairy to bring him. He doesn’t want real money, just chocolate coins. Fine by me!

Also good morning. It's raining so Col's first lacrosse session is postponed. We're going to take them to a new (ish) play place in Newtown to check it out, hopefully they like it and we can add it to the rainy day rotation.
I skipped running yesterday because I was too tired to function so I forced myself to get up this morning. I love rainy runs in the spring though I still feel so off. At least it's a good time of year to get back to it.

DH took T and T to the Avengers this morning. It’s the first “big kid” movie they included T on. He woke me up at 6:30, dressed in his Avengers shirt, telling me “daddy better wake up, we are going to be late.”
Later my sister is having a Cinco De Mayo party. Is it wrong to make my whole family walk there in the pouring rain because margaritas? It’s less than 1/2 a mile.

This play place is a hit. DH left for the grocery store because they aren't going anywhere. Chase probably won't be able to make it through lunch before passing out, but they're having a blast. With any luck, Col will pass out again and I can finish the work I need to get done.
