Went to the first movie on the green of the season. Saw Moana. Both kids had to be carried in the house after. 😴 Tonight is an early screening of Ugly Dolls and im trying to take both kids again. Luckily I'll have a friend in case the baby needs to be removed so they can keep an eye on my toddler. I'm also thinking about getting my kids to fall asleep in the car some time soon so I can go to the drive-in and finally see Avengers End Game. I think it's a smart plan but I fear it won't go as planned. I may try this out next week. 🤷♀️ Do you guys see movies with your bigs?

How is it May already?? pixiepink24 - My big is only 2 1/2 so no movies for him yet. He'll get halfway through one at home and get bored so it's not worth taking him to see one yet.

NymeriaDD wasn't really into movies much at 2.5 either but we did a few of the free summer movies at the theatre over that summer. It was all little kids and older movies that were free so it wasn't a big deal that all the kids were standing and moving around talking. She barely has the attention span even at almost 4. Lol!

DD (3.5 yo) really wants to see Ugly Dolls, I might try and take her in a few weeks. Ralph Breaks the Internet didn't hold her interest back in the Fall (we had to abandon ship halfway through the movie because she kept getting out of her seat), but this one looks colorful enough that it might.

If I took dd1 to a movie it would be a total shit show. She can't sit down for more then a few minutes so it will be awhile before we try to take her to a movie.

The movie actually went better than I thought it would! It was really cute too. The baby was great. He watched most of it. DD loved it and our friends sat with us. She was giggling and talking a bit but nothing really disruptive. She stood up a couple times but surprisingly didn't need any potty breaks. DS got antsy about 20 mins before the end so I got him to sleep rocking him on the side by the ramp so I could still watch. Then slept the rest and all the way home.

brenna how do you think she'd fair at a drive-in? Or what about those movies outside like screen on the green? DramaphileIt was really bright and never boring really. Even the baby was enthralled.

Even the baby was enthralled. we don't have any drive in theaters but she might do ok at a movie in the park. They just all start at her bedtime or later though so she probably would melt down shortly into the movie haha.

I just found out my cousin (the third cousin of this year) is expecting a baby, which makes it so our family will have had 5 babies (my sister is due in two weeks!) within about a year and 7 kids under three! We are all pretty close and see each other as much as possible so it will be so fun to all get together with the babies ☺️

We plan to take M to toy story 4 this summer. She’s excited and she also CANNOT wait until frozen 2 comes out. We haven’t taken her to the movie theater yet. Our base theater has free movies but I’ve not seen anything we want to watch yet.

DD has two cousins born 6 months after her (my sister's daughter and MH's brother's son were born the same weekend), and my sister and I had our second babies 7 weeks apart. I love that both my kids have cousins so close in age.

Last night dd decided to figure out how to sit up by herself in the crib! She was crying really hard so I turned on the video monitor and saw her sitting up looking around but she couldn't figure out how to lay back down. She of course had to keep doing it all night long so it was a long night for me.

We have our first ear infection. No fever, no ear tugging, just a little crabby and a draining eye. Just like her big sister. M started ear infections at 5 months and had tubes by 1. Hopefully this isn’t a family tradition.

akwild - Poor thing. Hopefully this is one-off and you don't have to end up with a 2nd with tubes.

We had some real crawling on hands and knees today! He's mostly been moving like an inch worm and liking to get in all fours then launch forward on his belly then back to all fours again.
I'm also starting to get nervous because he is constantly sitting himself up, even MOTN and we co-sleep. I'm so afraid he's going to fall out so I'm planning to try and lower the crib this week and start trying sleeping there. Even during nap time I'll hear him and then he's sitting up when I walk in. Not the safest situation. I don't remember what I did with DD.

P seems to be felling better after some antibiotics. pixiepink24 I hope he sleeps in his crib so you feel safer. We practice P sitting up everyday and scooting. She has like no interest. She will roll around to get what she wants. I just keep thinking everything will be easier if I can just set her down and she sits. It will happen one day...

This afternoon was the first time I've been out by myself in a long while. I spent it at Costco and it was so nice to leisurely peruse every aisle and not have to share my berry smoothie with anyone!

The girls have been getting up so early lately, like before 6 am. And dd1 hasn't been going to sleep until 8:30 or later. Thankfully they've both been napping well, but man starting the day before 6am makes for a long day.

Is everyone gone? Or did we run out of things to talk about? I'm sad our little community is pretty much dead 😔

I'm here! Just busy at work this week so not as much time to post. C had his 6 month well visit yesterday evening and he's still a peanut, 5th percentile (15 lbs) for weight and 14th for height (26 in), but the Dr said he's doing awesome and was surprised he's crawling already! He was up more than usual last night, I'm guessing from the vaccines maybe? I took him to Panera so I could get dinner after his appt and he spend the entire time squealing in his car seat and charming passersby. He's so all about the attention from people. Scored some deals at Carter's beforehand, 4 pairs of pants for him and 4 pairs of cartwheel shorts for DD for $25

The last 36 hours have been a whirlwind. MH got home Wednesday from picking up DS2 at my ILs' house and mentioned his mom was having some shoulder issues so we should probably look into getting DS2 signed up for daycare soon. Then yesterday my MIL asked me to call her - she hurt one shoulder then babied it so much she hurt the other shoulder and that she can watch him Monday because my FIL will be there but that's it.
She's been watching him 2 days a week and literally overnight told us she was done. Obviously I want her to heal and get better but WTF to the basically zero notice.
Thankfully the stars have aligned and the daycare DS1 goes to can take DS2 3 days a week starting May 20. My mom will keep her day and I'll keep one work from home day until we bump him to full time in September. I was already able to get in touch with the allergist's office and a second set of Auvi-Q's are on their way and they're ready to get any additional paperwork done and back to daycare next week.

Dramaphile I'm glad your little peanut is doing great! Nymeria sorry about your MIL giving you no notice, that would be so stressful! I'm glad you guys were able to get him in with your ds's daycare! akwild I know how crazy the end of the school year is! I always was ready to pull my hair out with my crazy middle schoolers with state testing and the end of the year stuff. tbirdlove sorry you've been having a rough time. We're hear to listen to you vent or whatever you need! As for us, dd2 is learning something new every day right now and I love it! Yesterday she figured out how to drink from a straw, is doing great with finger foods, and wants to crawl so bad but isn't quite there yet. She has finally started babbling pretty consistently so that has made me feel a little better about her not being so behind. It's been super warm here lately so we've been getting out to the park and to the library which has helped my sanity so much!

I'm here too! Dealing with figuring out where I'm going to live, filing child support, what I will do for work, and trying not to lose if mentally. It's been a lot to handle. Moving at the end of June now.
Now that DS is crawling, I can't turn around for a second. This kid has already busted his head on the tile and hardwoods a few times. He's even pulling up on everything too. DD and I are struggling with our relationship. I'm hoping talking about it in therapy will help.

Nymeria sorry that you have such short notice!! I’m glad you were able to work out a plan. tbirdlove we are here to listen when you have times. Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. pixiepink24 you are doing an amazing job with all of the changes happening. Hopefully things will start to settle down. We have 5 kid days left. Everyone and everything was just too much today. My principal gave me a pack of starbursts after talking about a difficult student. I just kept them in my pocket and they were gone in an hour. I was just teaching and eating candy. Luckily none of my first graders asked. Probably because when they do I respond with “when you grow up you can make all the bad choices you want” when they see me with candy or soda l.
