Still catching up but hi from Calgary. It's pretty much done but it was freaking SNOWING not long ago. Grrrr. HOWEVER I will say that this trip has started off on a far more positive note. As soon as he saw me, my manager brought me downstairs to talk with one of our top guys (he and the CEO - and no one else - are getting MD roles with the buyout). Anyhow he basically tells me that there will be an announcement tomorrow that our entire company is getting a one-time stock grant from our new company since our 2019 compensation was always supposed to include a grant. We're just getting it now in MS stock versus in September in our legacy stock. Apparently that should be the usual 5% of base salary, so that's nice. BUT then he tells me to keep this confidential but they identified about 60-70 staff that they are giving retention grants to in order to keep us post-close. It vests 2 years from the close date (tomorrow) and it's worth well over 50% of my annual salary before taxes. I mean, the money is awesome and should certainly calm DH's concerns over me not being compensated for my contributions - that's a huge part of why he hates the travel so much. But to me, I'm more pleased to know that maybe they actually DO realize how much they need me. Anyhow I wanted to share my good news with you ladies, especially you wedding, after our rooftop conversation. Also side note: any conversation is better on a rooftop. |

Work was predictably crazy today. We went through the audit report with the chief and auditor. Something I did was mentioned but it was more that I wasn’t clear on something so it was a little gray so no big deal. The rest of the day was playing catch-up.
Dh found out he didn’t get the job he interviewed for. He’s taking it kind of hard. All other jobs he’s had he was recruited for so he’s never been through the application process nor ever been rejected. Hopefully he will keep working on applying to more.
I took C to get his haircut tonight and the stylist opened the drawer where the lollipops were and C went over excited and then said “I’m actually not going to take one because there are not many left and someone else might want one more”. And yesterday he gave a friend a prize he won at the school carnival because the friend was upset that he didn’t go. 💗he’s turned into such a sweet kid.

You guys are not going to believe this shit MH is sick and hasn’t got out of bed all day. So I picked up the kids, fed them dinner, and am dealing with them while he hides out upstairs. As if the last 3 months of doing this wasn’t enough I refuse to like this. You need to Moonstruck him in the face. SNAP OUT OF IT, Mr. jewels! |

My kid used the word translucent today. She asked me if it would be cool if Oreos were translucent. I asked her what translucent meant and she was actually able to tell me. 🤯

We got bad news about my grandma today. We're doubtful that she'll get to meet baby girl at this point. No need for hair pats, I'm okay. I'm sad, obviously. But she was holding on to meet Jack when she was diagnosed and hes almost 4. We know we've been on borrowed time.. unfortunately my mom is not taking it well.
