I went to CVS and they had some wine at 75% off. I got 6 bottles of Mark West Pinot Noir Black for $4.38/bottle and then got another 10 %off for buying 6 bottles. SCORE! It's only Tuesday and you've already won this week! perfect. It's possible I may be hitting up more locations... |

kim22, so I sign up with an agency and they arrange all the families. They collect payment and pay me bi-weekly and also have access to government grants that they give to the providers. When I want a week off or have a sick day they arrange with the parents to send the kids to backup providers. Whatever equipment I don’t have they will provide like playpens, gates, high chairs... etc. And they provide monthly training for all providers and workbooks for each of the kids at their levels. I may eventually go on my own but right now they take all of the overhead and licensing and health and safety inspections so while I learn and figure it out I’m happy to stick with them for now.

We just closed on the house. So exciting. I wish we didn’t have to wait a month to move in. The sellers were so nice and had nothing but nice things to say about the neighbors. I’m feeling good about this transition. I also had the job interview earlier. It went well I think. I wasn’t too thrilled with the prospect of possibly having to work a few weekends, but I remembered it’s not call and I don’t have to always say yes since it’s as needed. I think I will follow up with an email and hope for the best. We are driving back and have a baseball game tonight for M. M2 is napping so I should probably get a car nap in, too. Are you going to start moving some of your stuff now so your DH can live there? He is staying with us in AL until the move. May is sort of a break month for him between the spring and summer semester. It’s basically his vacation time. |

So my supervisor emailed me that allegedly they have no place for me in either middle school when I return. I have been falling in and out of love with other possibilities all day long. I have requested a meeting with the person in charge of placement and toying with throwing my resume out there just to see since I recently learned my friend with the same degree and same level of experience is making almost $30,000 more than me.

I vacated the house today because the cleaning lady was coming. So I went to Walmart and went to have lunch. I walked into the restaurant and there was only one person in there. Turns out is was an old friend/coworker that I haven’t seen in a few years. She was dining alone as was I and invited me to join her. We ended up having the nicest lunch and caught up with each other. Before we knew it we’d been there for an hour and a half. Her daughter is 2 years younger than me and is currently battling breast cancer. So just a reminder to all you young ladies to do your self breast exams! Hers was actually caught by a mammogram. She started getting them at 30 due to family history.

I hope it works out the way you want it to (ridiculous to hire two new teachers without checking on old staff) The perk and the financial gain would be nice and probably would help to sway me, but tenure would give me pause. They haven’t been as generous as they’ve been in the past in my former district. Just in the last 3 years or so. A lot of hoop jumping bc they know they can hire a first year and save. |
