Morning! Kids have been up since 645, but have been playing relatively nicely with each other so I’ve been able to clean the bathrooms and drink coffee. It’s supposed to be a little over 70 today, so I’m going to take them to the beach to play in the sand. There’s like a 70% chance that I regret this decision later, but I’m feeling reckless.

guster I love the beach with kids, but I need the following parameters. It needs to be narrow, small & quiet. This way I can over see where everyone is fast. Holland has loooooooong, wide & very busy beaches... I hardly ever go. Hope you have fun!

Have fun at the beach guster! I feel so much better than yesterday, although hangovers at this age last days, so I'm still not feeling 100%. But knowing there are 4 days until vacation helps. Since I tried to keep my work to a minimum yesterday (so I wouldn't screw things up), I need to catch up today.

I just turned of my work computer, but forgot I need to put up an out of office reply 🤦🏼♀️. So back on it goes. I know this was exactly the kind of information you guys needed on a Tuesday morning.

When I arrived at my in laws' house yesterday, my MIL was still at her dr's appt. H ran to give me a hug and he felt warm. Temp was 103. So my MIL is watching him for me again today. He was still sleeping when I left but she said he woke up without a fever. Hopefully it stays that way.

Morning! Went to dinner with friends last night and drank toooo much! I rarely drink, and when I do it’s not much. So it hit me like a ton of bricks.
S had a seizure this morning at drop off. Her aide was holding her when it happened and her head was on her aide’s chest. She had a mouth full of medicine at the time, and it started coming out. So in true mom fashion, I stuck my hand under her mouth (and basically on the aide’s chest) and caught the medication so it wouldn’t fall into the aide’s breast 😂.
Now I’m trying to rally and get to work...but I’d love nothing more than to take the day off.

Morning. So tired...we bought 2 of the 4 car seats we need to buy. Both on sale plus the 20% off for turning in an old one. I’ll buy the other two on Thursday.

Morning. This morning was Colin's first day back to school and he didn't give us any trouble about it. I think he's probably ready to get back to a routine. Yesterday was his teacher's birthday so last night he drew her a picture of her in the classroom with the 4 tables and an initial over each kids' head to show who was who. It was adorable.
I have another day of meetings in front of me but I had some time this morning to get my goals for the quarter documented. My manager is a bit of a stickler about them and put a meeting on my calendar to discuss them on Thursday, so I'm technically not doing it at the VERY last minute... I just realized that I need to get off the phone with him and straight into the car if I want to make my flight to Denver. Great planning!

Morning! My sister is coming over and we are both doing weight watchers so I stocked up on low point snacks and planned my food for the day to allow for cocktails.

And I have to justify everything well. I’m not sure my brain is on it’s A game today....but here’s hoping!

I think I was amazed by your baseball snaps. It look like a real professional game for little people. I’m going to take a picture of soccer this upcoming weekend and show you the circus it is!

Well, I finally got smart. I sent MH a link to shoes I wanted for mother's day and told him to buy them today since they're on sale. It's the only way to assure that I don't receive another lazy susan.

tgrimes I’m sorry H is sick again but so glad your MIL will help out. My parents won’t come near sick kids. I think my biggest returning to work fear is that I have like no sick days and 4 kids who will get sick.

Last night was long. T woke me up at midnight to report that he got up to pee and accidentally poop came out on the bathroom floor. After cleaning that mess, I couldn’t fall asleep and then DD woke me up at 2 throwing up again. I slept in the living room with her. She woke up insisting she was fine and wanted to go to school and ate breakfast and everything. I have now been researching abdominal migraines. Within 15 minutes of getting sick in the night, she wanted food. That is not her with a stomach virus. I have not taken her to a neurologist yet because the ped basically said there is nothing they can do but I may need to soon, if for no other reason than to get a letter stating she doesn’t have to stay home for 24 hours after throwing up if it’s related to this.

I think my biggest returning to work fear is that I have like no sick days and 4 kids who will get sick. Sunday morning my MIL text me to see if the kids enjoyed finding eggs, etc. They had just returned from their 2 week vacation. I told her H had a fever and was sick again and so I'd probably stay home with him yesterday. She said she didn't have anything going on this week and could keep him as many days as needed. She's the best and I'm very lucky. My sister doesn't have any family around her. A couple years ago all 4 of her kids got the flu. Her H can't take off work so she was the one that had to stay home with all of them. Not delightful.

I looked into abdominal migraines for M. Would you be willing to try some preventative medications for them? I think it'd be worth a trip to the neurologist to see if they have any they can recommend. I know I saw a lot of studies for cyclic vomitting syndrome that included research for abdominal migraines. One was an antihistamine and the other was an antidepressant. Let me see if I can find them again and I'll pm you. I agree, you could at least get a doctor's note about returning to school.

I read a very sobering scary mommy post about being parents without a village, and sadly so much of it hit home. We do have family about an hour away, but they’re all very busy, but are willing to help out if we can plan something in advance. MHs family is far, and I don’t yet have any close close friends in this area who could help us out. I think we’re doing okay, but I try not to think about it too much because it does make me very sad. My cousin, his wife and their four-year-old are going to Disney World for two weeks. They were sharing their vacation plans during Easter dinner. His mom will be going the first week to give them some help/kid free time, and her mom will be going the second week to do the same. I spent most of the car ride home being very jealous about it.

I think abdominal migraines are under diagnosed because people don't know they are a thing. But were you giving her migraine meds? That should help. Did she eat onions or anything that would upset the tummy the night before?

guster how beautiful! Regarding no village we had no one Maddie's first year when we were in GA. Now my family is 3 hours away. I appreciate they are that close, but it's still far enough it can be a challenge. MH's family is only 45 minutes away but they are worthless in terms of any help or involvement with the kids. I wish my mom was a little closer. Whenever we drive down there the girls always say they wished we lived closer to them. kim22 oof. What a night. I hope you get some answers about your daughter. lfig and what a way to start the morning.

Just same old stuff around here. Work then TKD this evening. Class should be boring all week because a bunch of people are testing for their black belts this weekend so it's mainly focused on the technical things they need to know. The girls start soccer this weekend and I'm bummed I'm going to miss their first couple of classes, but the first one will be for a good cause.
