Nothing exciting here. I have a head cold, I was able to scrounge some Advil Cold & Sinus from the bottom of my purse. It expired 8/16, but it has to be better than nothing, right?

Morning! We were supposed to be inundated with company the next few weeks but some things came up and no one else is coming! So we just have my BIL until the 25th. The 26th is our 16th wedding anniversary (23 years together total!). This will be the first anniversary in 8 years that we haven’t had company. I’m thinking we need to get a babysitter and plan a date night!

Today is my favorite day...cleaning lady day!

Travel question for those that have flown with kids: what sort of documentation did you need for them? Did you need their birth certificates or anything?

I just flew with M and didn't need a birth certificate.  I had it just in case, but no one asked for it.  I only needed one for H when he was under 2 and a lap child.  

Obviously these are for domestic flights.

Our kids have passports so I just bring those when domestically, but have never needed to show them.

Morning. Just got into the office. H had his well check this morning and Has finally had a growth spurt! He’s up to 25% for height which was <10% before, so that’s good. He’s still holding strong at his 96% BMI tho, haha.

We have a sitter tonight so we can go to a parent meeting for kindergarten. We’re going to turn it into a date night and get dinner afterward.

We had M’s Easter egg hunt and party today for school. They went to a nearby park and the kids had a blast. I’m heading in to work now and wish I had the rest of the day off. We have baseball tonight. Busy, but fun day.

👀! That's not like 3 months past expiration!

It's amazing to me how many times I've changed purses in the 2 1/2 years these have been expired, but they have stuck with me.  It did help the headache, so I'll take the other one I have this afternoon.  I will put new in my purse when I get home tonight...and probably not need them for 2 more years.

I've always wondered, do meds "go bad"? Or are they just less effective ? Does it matter if it's a pill vs a liquid? I always end up tossing but it feels like a waste.

Less effective.

I’d still use them, better than nothing and they won’t do any harm.

Hi all. Working from home since I had 3 appointments today. First up was my 40th birthday present from my doctor, i.e., my very first mammogram. It was not a big deal at all and I was out of there within a few minutes. Then Chase needed an ear recheck and is infection-free for the first time in a couple months. Later DH and I have an appointment with our therapist, and I suppose I need to work too. Haha. It's school vacation week so Col went to daycare yesterday but is at the zoo with my ILs and his cousin today. He should be home in the next hour or so, so I'll have to juggle keeping him somewhat active as well.

So I MAY have jogged a mile yesterday at the gym... Aside from running feeling completely foreign, it didn't hurt. My ankle felt fine all day but was a bit sore at bedtime, but that was after running around in the backyard with Colin. That can be a bit iffy because it's changing direction that stresses my ankle (versus running in one direction on the treadmill) but I was still a bit nervous and took it super easy this morning. I feel completely fine now so I think I'll probably do a mile a couple more times this week and maybe work up to 2 by next week. Woohoo!!

That's about it for me. Just excited for a short week - Colin and I are going to spend Friday together. I'm really looking forward to it.

Between work and parenting, I'm feeling like I'm failing- basically everyone. And we are so busy the next week that I have no time to catch my breath. I have so much to get done in such a short amount of time.

If I had known,  I would have thrown them away long ago.  But being my only alternative and knowing Excederin doesn't help (my only other option at work), it was worth a shot.  This is not my standard practice, I promise.

Hugs. For what it’s worth, you’re not failing, you have a lot on your plate at the moment, the house, the move, being pregnant. A person can only be stretched that much.

A medical professional friend recently told me that sometimes they can lose effectiveness, but sometimes they can get more potent, so to be careful, esp with the kids meds.  She wouldn't think twice about a few months, but she said she wouldn't risk it if it was years.

Just took E to the dentist where he had a blast. He wasn't nervous and never bothered by anything. Apparently he has 2 6yr molars coming in and other permanent teeth but no loose ones yet
I'm eating lunch then going back to the dentist for a filling

Years, I wouldn’t mess with. And probably wouldn’t do it with kids unless it was Tylenol or Zyrtec.

Definitely wouldn’t mess around with expired ABX because then you’re just asking for a resistant infection.

I'm sorry. I know the feeling of being stretched too thin and feeling like you're coming up short everywhere. Try to delegate wherever possible and if less important things end up slipping, they end up slipping. I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes there's no real good alternative.
