I wish you could download episodes of Hulu shows on the app (maybe you can if you have a higher tier account than I do) so I could watch them on the go.

At a work meeting this morning there was discussion at birth control and a comment was made from one of the docs about how BCP is to protect women from rape during deployment. The internal raging feminist in me was going WTF? Maybe we should focus on trying to stop the rape from happening in the first place than encouraging women to get on BCP to prevent pregnancy from rape. IDK, just me.

I’m randomly baking (from scratch...#gluttonforpunishment) a blueberry-lemon pound cake to take; I hate showing up empty handed. It smells so good!

Meanwhile B has ‘lost’ his sneakers for approximately the 37th time his week. This is not a huge house, idk how it keeps happening. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yep. We’re good. The worst of the weather is happening later this evening so we are running errands now because we will be hotel bound later. 😩 The kids drove me crazy last night, so I’m not looking forward to being there hours with them today.

Yeah. I was super annoyed. My fellow behavioral health officers agreed. Our society has a long way to go for equality of the sexes. The person who said it is a nice guy and well-meaning. But it was lost on several men that encouraging women who have no intentions of having sex for the foreseeable future (because deployed) to take medications that have potential side effects (I personally hated taking the pill) to prevent pregnancy from rape is so effed up. Rather than, you know, make efforts to prevent rape. I know some of it is just people on the medical side looking at it as "SE from BCP are minor so why not take it?" without the understanding that no matter how minor, it's a woman's choice to not take it and it's not a reasonable approach to "protection from rape."

I was semi-raging last month about how our annual health assessments have a female-only section that addresses BC. I get that pregnancy obviously only impacts women from a medical standpoint, but we're looking at overall health so clearly if a dude knocks someone up that impacts him as well, yet we don't address with men what measures they are taking to prevent pregnancy as well as STDs. It's effed up.

I had mh take j to practice. He spent most of our time together whining that I wouldn't pitch for him out back and not understanding that he has a tee to practice on his own and if I pitch, n will be out there and could get hit. I did it for a bit and had her stand behind me.

She's snoozing and I'm trying to tackle all my projects at once, which means I'll get nothing completely done and lots of half way done things. I am currently switching out my winter/summer/maternity clothes, trying to shrink our curtains in the wash, organizing paper in the sunroom (found a cache of 2013 paperwork 🤔), and I did clean the upstairs bathroom. Oh and I cleaned the oven which was needed after a pepperoni went rogue last night and smoked up the oven pretty bad.

jewels she is 8. We were in the car and T asked why she keeps referring to tomorrow as the Mallory Meet. She told him because it’s for a Mallory that died. He asked how she died and DD said “I know but I don’t think I should say it to you.” So I guess she knows.

She’s the youngest on her team and when we combine with the other gym our owners own, the girls are up to high school seniors. The head coach from the other gym was once that little girl’s coach so I have a feeling it’s been talked about more there.

Hi all. I got home just after 8 last night so I got to put both boys down, which was a bit of an unexpected treat. Chase has been very cuddly and Colin is just Colin. He's more appreciative of DH these days, which is especially good since Chase is in his Mommy phase.

Anyhow Chase's soccer was cancelled because the fields were soaked this morning so we took them to the trampoline park instead. It's been indoor sports, Kindles and Legos most of the day, aside for checking out the snake I made DH scoot out of the garage. It was tiny but startled me.

And it's date night. Things had been really good leading up to my trip so I don't want to lose any ground.

A friend text me that she had extra tickets so we are headed to the hockey game. It’s their last regular season game so I’m sure it’ll probably be nuts.

Just went and did early voting for Tuesday’s election. Something about voting and seeing so many people out makes me grin from ear to ear. I love that people are engaged.

We ended up being at my nephews party for over 6 hours. But the boys were way over due for some cousin time. When we got there my nephew was busy with friends and when he spotted me, His face lit up and he yelled "my aunt abby is here!!" I about cried.
