Crazy parenting moments

I had one last night that reminded me of a story a long time ago I think from xolastunicornxo about kids vomiting and slipping in it or something along that line.

Last night as I was preparing to give the kids a bath, B peed on the floor.  No biggie.  Got him in the bath, was done with everything except washing S hair, and B stands up and drops a HUGE poop in the tub.  Cue insanity trying to get  both kids out of the bathtub quickly.  I put B on the bathrug to grab a towel for S who is shivering, and another big poop comes out.  Great.  I pop him on the toilet but now he is done.  I move him to the edge of the bathroom to pick up the poop and put it in the toilet, look over and he's peeing EVERYWHERE.  Poor S is still in the corner shivering and not finished his bath.  I get B cleaned up and in a diaper, get the poop out of the tub, quickly clean it, then have to get poor S hair washed who is now crying that he is freezing and hates showers.  And the bucket I use to wash his hair was in the tub during the poop incident so I don't want to use that and can't find anything to rinse his hair - I wound up using the cup he uses to rinse after brushing his teeth.  

I finally get everything done and B is running around screaming "I POOPED!!!!"  so now I think he is proud and will try to recreate this scene.

Oh, and then I get B in bed and tell S to hang tight a minute so I can start the wash.  I start the wash then put S to bed.  I had set the washer for extra soiled, extra hot, etc, so it took like 2 hours to finish.  I go to put it in the dryer at like 10:45 (past my bedtime).  I look over and think... hmmmm I don't think I put any laundry detergent in here! So now I have to re-wash everything just in case I did forget.

Not my best evening, but kind of funny in retrospect.

That’s a rough one jewels. Tub poops were the worst.

I had the little bowl we used at the hospital for baths and I would use it to rinse Cs hair. I’m not super sentimental but I liked this bowl a lot. Dh left it in the tub after rinsing and C had a blowout. Dh bleached it but I couldn’t risk it so to the trash it went.

Oof jewels. What a night.

When Cass was 18 mo and Maddie was 3 1/2 I flew to Disneyland solo and met up with my mom. Cass went crazy in the taxi on the way to the hotel and lunged at Madison. I grabbed her to get her off Maddie and she started wailing. She was screaming uncontrollably. Still was at the hotel. I'm trying to handle both of them and the luggage to get checked in and finally get in our room. At the time I thought Cass was just super overdue for a nap but later she was dx with nursemaid's elbow and I felt like crap when I realized she had dislocated her elbow--hence the screaming. It happened about 3 other times and a kind PA taught me how to put it back in.

There are also several vomit incidents with Cass in which she starts crying and wailing out of nowhere. Won't tell me what's wrong, then all the sudden throws up everywhere. Once when that happened it was in a parking lot of a holiday bazaar out in the sticks. I cleaned her up the best I could but the emergency clothes that were in the car hadn't been updated since the summer and were shorts. So I found a hooded sweatshirt and put that on her upside down as pants.
