MH just asked me what kind of dessert I want for my birthday and where I usually know exactly what I want, this year I am stumped.

Eton mess with summer berries

Cheesecake for sure! Other favorite is a warm brownie ice cream sundae. Or creme brulee. OMG I want dessert now.

Nothing is jumping out to me, yet. I will settle for either peach or strawberry rhubarb pie with really good vanilla bean ice cream, but it’s not that WOW that I’m looking for.

There is a place here called Nothing Bundt Cakes that makes a white chocolate raspberry bundt cake that is insane! I love it so much.

I have a pretty legit hot fudge recipe if interested. I have been known to put it in a sidecar(ramiken) in order to have the right ratio of hot fudge to ice cream ratio.
For birthdays, we are kind if boring and almost always do yellow cake with chocolate icing.
A favorite summery dessert is angel food cake with strawberry/blueberries and then a strawberry puree. I need to get on a gf angel food cake recipe.

I was considering a cookie puss because it’s ridiculous looking, and my husband doesn’t know anything about it because he grew up in the south. My carvel fun facts: My two aunts owned a Carvel when I was growing up so that ice cream was always a staple at birthdays and family parties. Their mint chocolate chip remains my favorite ever! My cousin was the voice on those old carvel commercial that were just hands (do you remember those?). My favorite line was “thinny thins for the fatty fats like you” |

I can’t believe I’m agreeing with wineallthetime about food, but cheesecake is my favorite. Creme brûlée is probably 2nd. Cheesecake factory’s dulce de leche cheesecake is my go to. The next time I need a cake I’m ordering g from the lady that I got the baby shower cake from. Everyone is still raving about it. White cake with strawberry filling & cream cheese icing. Yum. |

tgrimes the baby-shower cake reminds me of my wedding cake; white cake with either lemon or raspberry filling (the tiers alternated). I'm not typically a raspberry person but it was amazing. mwhip I first saw Nothing Bundt Cakes in KC! We just got one here about a year ago, haven't been yet, though. Other desserts...cheesecake will always win for me. I really like a classic plain with strawberry topping. In the spring and summer, I do love carrot cake and key lime pie.

Not homemade, nor have I tried it, but I saw this yesterday in Aldi if you’re looking for a quick pinch. I have been very happy with most of this brands gluten-free products so I think I would have high hopes for this one.  |

guster!! Thank you! Running not walking to the Aldi to see if mine carries it. I love their gf stuff too. I'm now relieved I have kept the angel food cake pan my late grandma gave me for my wedding but haven't used. Iay try it for Easter next week!
