Some of you probably saw the article I shared on FB yesterday from Popsugar. My cousin was the photographer, it has now been shared over 75,000 times and she woke up to a ton of emails from all over requesting interviews, including from places in London and Spain. She is in shock. Lol. Ahem. What article?

I believe for tubals, the dr wants to discuss with patients that the surgery is very expensive to reverse, if you decided you wanted more kids. They will also discuss what happens during surgery and what to expect during your recovery. At least that's the feeling I got when I discussed with my doctor.

I get to go out on a prescribed burn tomorrow! I’m excited. This job has had me behind the desk all winter so I’m glad to get out in the field. This is my last week in this job also.

I skipped the meeting but let DD bring a friend home from school with her instead so she no longer cares. It was worth it just to see the looks on the other mom’s faces when they asked if I was going and I said no.

inthekitty I’m sorry, parents suck. Mine still can’t figure out why my sister’s and I refuse to celebrate their getting back together. They should have just divorced 30 years ago.

All the Bigots are threatening to remove their kids from the district if they implement the new curriculum because it recognizes all genders/forms of gender expression and same sex relationships. OK, go ahead with that, you dopes. What part of "statewide standards" is confusing to you? Apparently, one parent yelled something about following the Bible, which only has two genders. Alright? What does that have to do with public education guidelines? I can't attend. It would probably come to blows.

inthekitty I'm sorry your family is behaving like huge assholes to you and your siblings. Your dad must have kept the rest of his family in the dark about his true behaviors that negatively impacted your childhood, which is bullshit. I would try to distance myself from them as much as you can. The entire situation is a lot to deal with. I like to think I'm prepared for my kid to turn into a teenage asshole, but I know I really won't be. She will say hurtful things and just all around be terrible. So I'm going to relish the fact that she told me twice yesterday, that I am her favorite. The ironic thing is while the aunt who was a bitch to me might not have known the extent of his stellar parenting, she knew a lot about his character. She was beaten up by my dad decades ago (I kind of wish I had it on video). My grandpa knew, so I'm assuming that the rest of them did too, that when my dad's best friend/roommate died (who was a really nice guy) in his place, he let the body sit there for several weeks so he could steal his SS check. He makes Frank Gallagher from Shameless look like a top notch guy. It's a small town and all of his arrests for the craziest shit were always listed in the paper. My mom was poor and not from an affluent family and they didn't think she was good enough for my dad, so we were always the black sheep. When she divorced him they were pissed because 1) Catholic, and 2) that meant they'd have to deal with his shit instead of her/us. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm trying to get back to my zen place. I have increased the amount of TKD and time kicking/punching bags tremendously this month.

Another head scratcher from the side that likely proclaims they are anti-abortion, but when a simple way to reduce abortions (education) comes to play they are against that too. Yay for the new standards. We were talking anatomy the other day and Cass kept insisting that hearts are tiny and was basically showing with her fingers something the size of a salt grain. I discovered it was because at her Christian preschool she was given some anti-abortion propaganda about the size of a baby's heart at 5 weeks in utero. I provided both of the girls with accurate info right away. Overall we've had a good experience with the school, but it's things like that that affirm we're making the correct decision leaving the school for public school in the fall.

So I kept seeing small groups of people in this one spot on the sidewalk near a heavily used Street near our neighborhood. I couldn't figure out what the hell they were doing, so I googled... Apparently, a well known women's health center here closed. Ok, seems normal enough, but nope. Their lease was bought out by a heavily religious group claiming to be a medical group. The women's health center relocated to this new area by my neighborhood and the people I'm seeing are actually picketing and praying for all the "souls that are being destroyed"(it was on one of their signs).
I'm so annoyed by this. I want to make signs that say "YOUR body. YOUR choice. Ignore the idiots over there." And just sit in a camp chair right next to them.

Inspection is friday. If we cant the actual certificate of occupancy to the bank by close of business on friday, we have to do another fucking loan extension. Costing me more money out of pocket. Matthew was so bad today I threatened not to take him to swim lessons if he didnt straighten up. So we didnt go. Jackson has been dry all day, even through nap. Walks out from his nap and immediately peed on the floor. Drenches everything.
I would be seeing red if I wasnt crying from frustration.

klong11 do it. Please set up a GFM so I can send you snacks while you're camped out. I think you should also have one that says for every protester who attends, you're donating $20 to the center. Imagine if they channeled all that energy into actually helping people.

In other news, NY has banned unvaccinated kids from all public places in an attempt to end this measles outbreak. Obviously not enforceable but something has to be done. I’m so glad C was finally able to get MMR, there were 3 cases in the town that borders us in the fall and I was avoiding certain parts of town.

We sent the boys to bed without dinner for the first time. Literally could not get them to stop playing around or messing with each other long enough to eat. We tried separating them and they still managed to torture each other. I dont feel bad since both had snacks pretty close to dinner. Hopefully it helps with future dinners.

People like that drive me insane.

People do that all the time outside of the planned parenthood here. It’s on a major street right across from one of the high schools.

I don’t know if I mentioned this morning, but I fell asleep last night at 7. Right now I’m at work and about ready to fall asleep at my desk, it’s 8:40. I hope this is a sign I’m KU, though I can’t test for another week.

I recently found out that a new hire makes 70 cents per hour less than me. I’ve worked at my company for 7 years. How do I go about bringing up to my boss than I need a raise? I never really see her so the best communication method is email. I’m pissed at the whole thing so I don’t know how to word this respectfully.

We have sent evie to bed without dinner because she just sat at the table complaining about said dinner and we were tired of hearing it. She now knows that it can happen again, so it hasn't happened since.

We had our first t-ball practice and it was a success! J was super into it and could hear him answering questions and first in line for stuff. We froze watching though, but that's sports in march around here. One dad had 3 kids and his 2 year old was running around in a t-shirt. Meanwhile n had her puffy coat, hat and mittens and was freezing. I told mh I would be horrified if that was him.
My friend just got an offer accepted on a house in a hot neighborhood that had 14 offers. I knew enough specifics that I knew the exact house it was, even though he hadn't sent me the link. Dude, I have a master's degree in real estate stalking. I know he's anxious for people to know the price, but everyone knows once you give out the new address 🤷

I'm a pretty firm believer that people shouldn't discuss pay with coworkers...it never ends well. Does this new hire have a lot of experience? Can you check the average rate for your position, or comparable, on indeed or something similar? jewels works in HR, so she probably has some helpful pointers. I would compile a list of all the skills you have that the new hire doesn't, as well as everything you have done over the last 7 years to improve your skill set. I would briefly tell your boss via email that you would like to schedule a time to discuss something important with her and try to do it in person.

Do you have reviews coming up? I am not the best negotiator but def need to speak up. I'd try it from the I've been here 7 years and I've only had this much salary growth, and not the she makes about the same as me so I need more approach. Maybe she has a different background or something that you don't know about that could back to bite you. Also fingers crossed that you are tired for a good reason😉

mamabear tallb we have annual reviews coming up in the next month or two but my boss doesn’t actually meet with us, she just writes it up and gives it to us either at a meeting (which we have every 6 weeks) or it’s waiting at our desk. Every single one of my reviews have been glowing. The company does annual raises in July and she basically makes it sound like there’s no wiggle room when she tells them to us. It’s BS, truly.

trtlcrzy I would not bring up the coworke’s rate. I get frustrated when people do that bc really , unless it’s a union type contract, each employee is their own person and what someone else makes is irrelevant to you . I would approach it from an angle of requesting a raise based on your merit and length of employment alone. Send a short email asking for a time to discuss your salary. Note anything extra you bring to the job and how long it’s been since your last increase I’d be happy to read it before you send it if you like
