So M's eczema has been awful from the cold weather, I was finally getting it under control and now this.. this weekend he was playing in the grass (rolling around being ninjas) and this showed up the next morning... it seems to be getting worse despite keeping it lathered in cerve and aquafore. Ideas? It covers both arms where his tshirt didnt cover. And both hands. He itches it like crazy!

Poor fella! He may need a steroidal cream or ointment for it. I have eczema in the most bizarre place...my ear, like IN the ear. But the only thing that has ever helped it is the steroid ointments. Or something the dr called “magic dust”. I don’t know what it was, but he sprayed it on the affected area and it magically got sooo much better after flare ups.

We’re having some luck with eucrisa. It’s a prescription non-steroidal cream for eczema. Daily baths are a must for us, too.

I'm going to give benadryl and lather tonight. Just to rule out an allergic reaction. If its not getting better tomorrow, I'll see if his pedi will call in a cream.

This is a steroid prescription my daughter uses. Her arms will look like your picture and overnight it’s gone with this.

Are you sure it isn't chiggers? Do you have chiggers in your area or is this a regional thing? Is it itching him? Poison ivy?

And I’m glad I pulled that out and saw it’s all broken and dried up so I can call for a new one before her next outbreak lol.

No current advice, but I used to have eczema and as it turned out i was allergic to the steroid cream... it took a while to figure that out, so try on a small spot first .

Did you try any Benadryl? Looks like some raised bumps? I would suspect maybe contact dermatitis + eczema. We have the cream that kim22 uses, then we put LUSH dream cream once it calms down.

My dermatologist prescribed Triamcinolone acetonide for my dermatitis type issue that I had on my neck. It's a steroid cream that helped it go away withing a few applications.

If it starts to open up, I would use the cream that chrisy01 posted, too. That's for bacterial infections and since he's had impetigo before, I wouldn't mess around with taking a chance on any staph getting in there.
