Hi all! Just caught up on the weeks threads, I hope everyone is doing good.
Work has been insane, the govt is in a flurry to get everything done, signed and passed before she calls the election. Everyone is thinking it'll be the 18th during the throne speech, so we'll see. This work thing is really cutting into my time here and I dont like it.

Last night B's cough was getting worse and sounded very bark-y. I was worried about it keeping him up so I went to look and only had Triaminic night time which I couldn't remember if it was ok for him. I am 99% sure I gave it to S around the same age, but then second guessed myself, so I called the pharmacist. He said I could give it but it wasn't proven to be effective in that age and he'd recommend something else. It's a small town pharmacy we go to, and he offered to drop it off on his way home. It felt like I was living in the 1950s!! Anyway, it totally worked and he didn't cough at all overnight! Score!! What is this magic elixir? It was Zarabees cough sryup for nighttime, believe it or not. He took it, fell asleep within 15 minutes, didn't cough once, and slept through the night without coughing for the first time in days! ETA to add tgrimes and cagoldi

Hi! I’m WFH this morning, then driving 3 hours to STL for an appt for S with the sleep specialist, then driving 3 hours back tonight because I have to work tomorrow. I’m dreading it. Plus the wind is crazy today so I’m sure I’ll be fighting that the whole drive.
I feel like each day I’m seeing even more improvement in S’s hands!! I’m so excited it’s actually working. Especially when the dr walked into the hospital room the day of the infusion and said “I don’t think this is going to work, just so you know. But I want to try this before we go the surgery route”.
Also, good news on the job front...it looks like my normal job (that I return to in a few weeks), is going to be converted to permanent full time (year round)! So I won’t get laid off in the winters anymore and I can stick with that job! My boss called me yesterday afternoon with that news! They’d been discussing it but wasn’t for sure what was going to happen till yesterday. So now I need to break the news to the boss I’m currently working temporarily for that I probably won’t take the job he’s offering. He’s been trying hard to persuade me. And I feel so bad. Because I’m so thankful they let me have the opportunity to do it this winter. But I just don’t think it’s for me long term.

Morning!
SSDD here.
I slept in, so I need to fit in a workout during my lunch. There’s a test for my new class that I need to complete tonight, but I’m caught up on my reading and feeling fine about it.
X’s eczema has been OOC lately. It’s so bad on his right wrist I’m afraid it’s going to start bleeding. We have everything under the sun including prescription creams and nothing seems to touch it. I figured I would try a snail cream on it, and that’s working miracles. K Beauty saves the day once again.

wedding , I've been having some weird sleep issues too. I fall asleep just fine, but I find myself either waking up in the middle of the night and having a hrd time falling back to sleep, or waking up super early (like 4:30/5:00). It sucks. This is me exactly! I'm awake for a few hours MOTN or just up so so so so early.

C refuses all liquid medicine now. I wish they had cough suppressant tablets in his age group. We have had some luck with the mucinex powder but its an expectorant to get the crap out so we give it during the day.

Hi all. Nothing much here. I had a lazy morning but finally got myself up and worked out. Now I need to get in the shower. Then we’ll have lunch and run some errands. We’re having friends over for dinner and then volleyball at 9:30 tonight... ugh.

This is me exactly! I'm awake for a few hours MOTN or just up so so so so early. Same! It really does depend on what time i go to bed. If I fall asleep after 10, I wake up around two and I am up for at least an hour and a half, but if it’s closer to nine, I sleep through the night.

WWN13D: We are getting C's new bed Saturday. His current mattress and boxspring are about 6yrs old. Would you list these as free/trash them or would you store them? I question how they will fit in our small storage area but DH seems to think there's plenty of room. And it would be a few years before C would likely want a larger bed again so I am thinking then the mattress will be close to 10 and in need of replacement. Thoughts?

wedding I'd give them away. Who knows when/if he'll want a new bed so it'd be taking up room for no reason.
