mwhip, there is another school, literally 1 block away from the current one, that I toured a while ago and really liked. I have 3 options 1) Move B now and have to do 2 drop offs and pick ups daily 2) Wait it out but move B in July (S is starting camp so I'll have to do 2 drop offs anyway) 3) Not move him and wait it out. You nailed it - stress and anxiety are at like an 11 for me right now. Plus I've been at this place since S was 12 weeks old. So over 5 years now. And I just hate that all this is happening and tainting my view of what has been such a part of our family for years. Plus my "community" now is almost entirely made up of families from that school. So it would not just be B starting over, but me too. And I hate change.

jewels ugh the total lack off empathy for the kids (and the teacher for that matter) by the board would male me mad on so many levels. We had a similar situation, being told a teacher left via a very crappy email, but at least she came back (without parents knowing) to say goodbye to the kids. And that teacher sucked, which made it easier. Maybe you can make a card or something to send to her with B? She lives close by and when I reached out to her she reminded me that she babysits on the weekends. So I think I will add her to my short list of babysitters so she can keep a relationship with the kids. I'm not sure if she even knows about the email that was sent out.

jewels, that is very unprofessional of them to bad mouth a teach in an email to parents.

Hi! We were on vacation last week so I missed you all! Slowing catching up both here and at work 😜. Being back in cold weather is no fun...come on spring! Also as soon as we got back I had to register L for KINDERGARTEN. What is happening you guys?? Where did you go? Somewhere warm I hope!

jewels, that sounds like a shit sandwich. And very unprofessional of the director to send out an email speaking negatively about her. I am sorry and hope you find peace with whatever you end up doing.

Where did you go? Somewhere warm I hope! Disney! Weather was great...warm and sunny but not too hot. it was a nice break from the neverending winter here (although I shouldn't complain, we're not in the negatives or anything) Oh Fun!! Did the kids just LOVE it? Was it their first time?

So fun mamabear! Glad you guys had a good time. jewels will S be there at all after starting K in the fall (or summer camp)? I would factor that into my decision of possibly leaving. I'm so sorry for the shitty situation. It's completely unprofessional.

jewels well shit, I'm sorry, how stressful. They need a lesson in professionalism, I hope that the changes they make dont effect the boys too much.

I'm in a mood as well. I blame mh and officemate. Cause lord knows I'm never the issue! I went for my calcium scoring this morning. I'm interested to see what it says and I'm wondering if I'll ever get to see the images. Anyone know if they get uploaded to patients online charts or not? I want to see my heart.

Class pictures are next week and I only have sweats/ joggers for E because he grew out of all his jeans. I guess I'm shopping this weekend. But I don't buy the pictures, just screen capture. Although this time is cap and gown pics too

I'm so sorry for the shitty situation. It's completely unprofessional. The only time S would be there after graduation in June is if I were to use them for drop in days (like there's a week of no camp the week before school starts), or random days like that throughout the school year (they are always open, even when the schools are closed for snow days so lots of people use them for that). However, as I've mentioned before, my job is super flexible, so I could figure something out for those days, it's definitely not a deal breaker.

If so this seems like an ongoing issue and I’d probably switch at this point.

Hey. I ran errands this morning while H was at school. We had conferences a little while ago and the teacher had all good things to say about H, I’m so proud. Nothing planned for the afternoon, except it’s low 20s out which feels awesome. So maybe we will play outside in the snow.

I just came back from lunch bunch at M’s school. I had to sit with his class while the teachers got to eat a lunch provided by the parents. It was only 8 5yo’s, it takes special people to teach such active little minds.
M2 slept horribly last night. He’s kind of snotty, so I’m thinking it was that. He ran a little warmer last night, but was fine this AM, so I hope he makes it all day without getting full blown sick.

I ultimately decided not to move them for S last year before Kindergarten. Then they made a few changes and I loved B's teacher this year (the one that's gone), and the teacher he's supposed to have next year (the one due this summer) is the best in the school. So I figured it was worth putting up w the other crap. But now? I don't know. And then do I move B now and get out of the situation he's in, but he will be so sad he's not with his brother? While having to do the 2 drop offs and see them every day knowing I left 1 kid there and pulled the other? Or do I do it in July and just deal for 4 months. I hate change. And I hate leaving something I am comfortable with.

jewels ds has had 5 teachers in a little over a year (when we started we thought he’d have one for 2.5 years). There was a lot of shoddy communication and bad situations accompanied with the switches. It upset us a lot. My mom however pointed out to me that a lot of these grievances where adults problems, that ds would get used to a new teacher soon and probably wouldn’t make much of it. It made me pause a little. I think for four months I would stay, at least the location and friends are stable that way, plus who knows maybe the new teacher is amazing 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻! ETA it does suck though, I suck at changes too, big time.

nam2013, I already know the teacher - she has been a floater there for a few months. I have not been super impressed. She's a bit of an odd duck. But B seems to like her enough, which I guess is a good thing. The assistant, however, I am hoping changes. She gets flustered very easily and has done/said some things that I have not been happy with. I reached out to the other center today to see if they still have a spot available.

He rarely does drop offs and pick up so he doesn't really know the teachers and is not involved in most of the drama. Plus it's hard b/c all this is going on while he's OOT and he hasn't even seen the other center. But ultimately he will just support whatever decision I make.
