Sounds fun goldenlove! O has his first swim lesson this Sunday! I’m a little anxious about how he will do since parents are in a “waiting room” not in the pool area. There are windows where you can see the pool (it’s indoors). Everyone recommended this place though. I would killllll to have one of M’s classes not have parent involvement. I’ll bet O will listen and behave like a champ for the instructor. M always responds differently to her “teachers” than she does to me. I purposely waited until 2+ so I didn’t have to get into the pool with him... lol

I have fallen off the wagon ever since drinking that damn sugar drink yesterday morning. I feel like poo, but can’t stop eating all the things. The cold weather isn’t helping. Makes me just want to sit and shove every comfort food within reach into my mouth. I'm currently shoveling a Greek salad down my throat. Eating like garbage for months and getting in a bathing suit was not a good combo. We'll see how long this lasts. I'm already hungry again...

With our pool though I really need to be on top of making sure she knows her rules and I think this year will be good for really implementing the safety stuff. At this stage I really wish we just didn’t have the pool.

The clothes I have picked out for Florida are stretchy, but not maternity. I need to slow my roll or I’m going to have to scramble to find some hot weather stuff last minute. Maybe if I chug some water I’ll trick myself into thinking I’m full.

cookswithwine, As a swim instructor, that is my favorite set up for swim lessons. Parents can see everything going on, but are not a distraction to their kids. Kids (especially the younger ones) look to parents for approval and sometimes the Okay for things like going underwater or jumping. Most parents I have aren't paying attention. I would say of the 4 parents I had in a preschool level 1 class last session, only 1 was actively paying attention. One mom was just busy with her son's younger sibling and missed him jumping in without a teacher. Not her fault but in a separate room, she's not worrying the younger child will run into the pool or slip on the deck. Dad's make it so much worse for their sons in my experience. I had another kid who is super shy and his dad tried encouraging me to just "make him do it!" That doesn't help with the fear of water! Then the dad would say, "he does it fine with us when we're in the pool together!" Yeah he does... he trusts you, he lives with you, he sees me once a week for 45 minutes!?! Sorry! If he is worried, take him into the room so he can see that you can see him, and that you aren't far away. FFFC3: I'm being lazy and making popcorn chicken and french fries for dinner so that 1) I know L will eat it! and 2) If he doesn't I know I'll eat it! LOL

We’re meeting MH’s friends from college for dinner tonight. They’re taking about going to some other bar afterwards. I’m not feeling it. Besides, when I booked the babysitter I told her we’d be home around 10 since I thought it was just dinner.
