Hi girls!
We had a great little date last night. Back to reality this morning.
I did decide to apply for that study abroad trip to Greece. Once Pete saw the itinerary and that it involved actual schoolwork, he was a little more encouraging. I am going to owe him so, so big for this.

jewels I would hate him too. Even though I know firsthand that your H is a nice guy 😉 Also, wanted to update you that we got the "What to do when you worry too much" workbook and my kid LOVES it. It breaks down anxieties/worries into very approachable concepts and gives age appropriate tools to cope. I think that just by going through the exercises and talking (and sometimes drawing) the worries out, it takes a lot of the scariness out of it. My kid asks to do a chapter every night and we even laugh about some of the things he draws out. Apparently, on his list of worries are meeting new people, biting spiders and getting a wart 😂

kim22, we were able to turn the crib around and stall him a bit that way. He would climb out in the sleep sack so that didn't stop him and just made it more dangerous IMO.

Morning! I've also been a grump this morning, so much so that Colin asked me in the car this morning why I was so mad. I apologized and assured him that I was frustrated about the fact that I was going to be late to work AGAIN, and that I wasn't mad at him and I needed to be nicer. Sigh. I'm in a bit of a better mood now. Work has just been really stressful, I'm EXHAUSTED, and DH has been busy and a bit distant again. I just feel a bit icky all around. Those boys are the other thing keeping me smiling some days!

Morning . The weather is so lovely over here. Did some more yard work and got some artificial gras to put on top of the most horrible tiles ever. If we win the lottery one day, we’ll let someone take care of our post-stamp, for now this is fine. Groceries, cleaned out the freezer, school run & swim class in a bit. When do the daffodils and tulips start blooming there?

Morning! Yesterday and today I feel like I am drowning in exhaustion. And yesterday B decided not to nap for me. No fun. Today I was happy to drop both kids at DC and come to work but I can't seem to get the motivation to actually accomplish anything. And I'm on day 15 solo. Yesterday MH had the day off and went to see Hamilton and out to drinks. I am trying to not hate him. Wow. Sorry, I am quite the debbie downer today. Love tit for commiseration. I feel ya.

We also terminated the beach house contract. I see another house online that I love but it’s very on the edge of our target neighborhood so I’m not sure. I’m sorry that house didn’t work out. I hope you find your dream house ASAP

I have never made it up my stairs faster than I just did when I saw C on the monitor with both legs over the top crib rail. Luckily I got him in time but now I have to figure out how to keep him in. I guess sleep sack? Anyone have other ideas? He’s only 14 months and his favorite activities are climbing and putting stuff in electrics outlets. Your C is my M2’s twin. Climbing and outlets are his favorite activites and have been for a long time. Le sigh.

Aw, sorry that didn’t work out, kim22 . Bummer. @73jewels start plotting your revenge now. A solo vacation to a sandy beach once he returns sounds nice. that sounds fabulous. Unfortunately as soon as he gets back he goes into his busy season, which means not a lot of long trips like this, but a few days here and there, often rather last minute, so I can't really plan anything. Otherwise, I'd be hopping on that Denver trip! At this point I told him I just want a night alone. Hotel, room service, massage. Done.

Morning! I kept H home today from school so she could rest one more day. I’m planning to take her tomorrow. We had S’s post op appt from her tube surgery at the end of nov. Her left tube has already fallen out, which I’m pretty sure is the same one that fell out early last time. Dr. said that having her adenoids out should help her to not get any more EIs so hopefully that’s the case. She’s been pretty healthy since surgery. Nothing else planned for the rest of the day.

Although honestly I really do think his stomach issues were mild constipation. He's not complained since that situation rectified itself. I think S is pretty carefree, and I actually worry a bit that giving him a book like that would make him "invent" issues that aren't really there, as he has done that in the past. Interesting about drawing the worries out though - we are not a super artistic family and S has always been more of a construction (building things, legos, etc) kid, but since MH has been gone, he has been coloring and painting almost daily. I wonder if it's therapeutic for him.

trtlcrzy there are crocuses everywhere now, narcissus can come up any day now, tulips are a little later, usually somewhere in April, but you can buy them at the market for next to nothing right now.

I ran late for my dental cleaning this morning. When I got there I wanted to fall asleep in the chair. Not sure why, but it was relaxing. I’m glad to be at work, too, after a depressing weekend.
M has tee ball practice tonight at 5pm. I usually don’t leave work until 515, so yeah, not sure how this will pan out. I set up my friend to pick him up and get him there today. We may be missing some Monday practices because I don’t want to put that on her plate every week. I have already made reservations about this coach, too, based on his communication skills. I think our experience last year spoiled me and this year’s coach has big shoes to fill.

cagoldi I think you’ve told me before, but your an ordinary skincare user, right? Any tips for a very dry&sensitive skin? I use some of their stuff, yes. And I do like their products, but some I can take or leave. What kinds of things are you looking to achieve with your skin or are there any products you are wanting to replace? Are you going to be building a whole new routine?

I know myself and know I won’t be able to commit to something that would entail lots of daily steps. I need something quick and easy .

wedding thank you! That’s the exact genius answer I was looking for. My oldest used to get out but his crib was the same height on both sides. He had a tent that zipped over the top that worked great for us but was recalled for safety.

I know myself and know I won’t be able to commit to something that would entail lots of daily steps. I need something quick and easy . The products I most prefer from The Ordinary are their actives/acids, so if your skin is dry and you don’t have other concerns like uneven tone or wrinkles, I would avoid those. I’m not particularly impressed with their cleanser and moisturizer, which is where you should start. For dry skin, I would find a nice oil cleanser and a PH cleanser. I currently use Innisfree apple seed oil cleanser and COSRX Good Morning low ph cleanser. Both are great and those should meet your needs. Double cleansing is a good, easy way to get nice results and doesn’t take much extra time. A good moisturizer is a must. CosRX Snail all in one cream is really popular and one of the rare ones that is light enough to use for daytime and at night. If you want/need more steps after starting with those, I would add a moisturizing toner (Korean, avoid US toners because they are drying), and maybe a hyaluronic acid serum. For times when skin is exceptionally dry, you could indulge in some sheet masks and a sleeping pack. The sleeping pack I use now is MCK Spirulina and it was $7. I bought it on a whim and that’s been my favorite ever.

cagoldi thanks! I was liking at the vitamins c serum, but I’ll skip that then. I’ll see if I can find something with those descriptions . I have a lush gift card, so maybe I should start there.

Vitamin C serum is good, but it can be hard on sensitive skin. I use one, but it has hyaluronic acid in it and that helps cut down on my steps/products since I want both in my routine (mine is from TruNaturals). You might try using it every other day at first if you decide to go with that. You want to make sure you are only introducing one new product a week so you can identify if any particular item doesn’t agree with your skin.
