addymac i thought of you today. J was an absolute bear while we were out today. Everytime he freaked out dh is like should we put him in the stroller or carry him? Should I carry him or you? Dude i dont care lets just do whatever to get him to stop screaming!!!! Yesterday dh and j were getting ready for a bath and were both naked. Dh had to pee so steps up to the toilet and starts going. J steps up right next to him and starts peeing...all over the floor. Dh was trying to grab j, keep peeing, and not get j pee on his feet while i stood in the hallway cracking up. I think we need to get j a potty for the bathroom.

Omg this kid has gotten completely wild, climbing more than ever, putting every choke hazard item she can find in her mouth and dumping bins of toys and did I mention emptying clothes out of the drawer?! 😬
Add in this miserable cold and I might totally lose it!
She also has been waking up earlier since it’s getting lighter earlier.

Omg king26 I just laughed out loud. That’s amazing and awful. I hate cleaning up bathroom disasters. Noah popped in the tub again the other night - DHs first time witnessing it and DH freaked out and then Noah started crying! Like he got scared of the floating poop LOL or DHs freak out scared him IDK but I had a crying kid and DH being like WHAT DO WE DO?!?!? I threw them both in the shower while I cleaned up but omg. I stopped laughing when I had to clean the poop 😑 Oh jt2378. That’s noahs favorite thing now. Opening his dresser and throwing everything out. We have to keep his door shut bc he will run in there, shut the door, and wreak havoc. And he smirks every time I catch him 🤦🏻♀️

Yes! addymac, I slightly worry I have a maniac in the making as she also looks at me like F you lady 🤣 Or when he looks at us right in the eye and pinches us or scratches us or the leather ottoman or couch. I’m like omg is he a sociopath 😳😳😳😳 But then he gives amazing hugs and snuggles and I figure maybe not sociopath lol

The bold look in the eyes while doing something destructive is hilarious and infuriating at the same time. I know all about that too addymac and jt2378.

Yeah, I admittedly dislike this age bc 18ish month olds are a pain in the butt a lot of the day. 🤷🏻♀️
L has a habit of looking at me, grinning and then purposely eating gross things, or climbing where she shouldn’t, drinking out of the dog dish, and on and on. She’s also a fan of kicking and crying tantrums on the floor. And she really enjoys biting her brother. Sooooo.. she’s only being cute a small percentage of the day.

I switched up DDs bedtime routine a couple weeks back, and she is officially STTN more than not! Now if I can just get her to stop begging for breastmilk and wean soon, I’ll be thrilled. She also has picked up a lot of new words recently. So exciting since DS was delayed and we did early intervention with him for a couple years.

Same with the smiling and doing bad things. Toddler H is thrilled if he finds something he shouldn't have and will grin and run away as fast as he can. Dh forgets about baby proofing sometimes. He left the windshield washer fluid on the floor and I could envision toddler H going after it, so I left him alone for a minute so I could put it up. I came out and toddler H was sprinting across the room with a tube of dh's super glue in his mouth. I yelled at dh. Our first wasn't a climber so it's a new paradigm

We had our 18 month well check today. It went ok, he was such a big baby that his weight has fluctuated downwards and we’re to watch it. But, I feel like he eats pretty good for a toddler. He’s not at a low weight or anything. We’ll just keep feeding him what he’ll eat.

Their growth is much more gradual at this age. Glad everything else went well!

But now with activity level, he’s stalled. But he did grow 1.5 inches from his 15 month wellcheck!

So yesterday we traveled to KY to visit Bens family. Our initial flight was canceled so we had to scramble but got on a later flight. So the whole day was thrown off but he did an amazing job. Except of course he slept like shit last night but oh well.
Had our 18mo appt on Tuesday. All’s good. We were a day early so he couldn’t get his shot so well go back next week one day. DH is convinced he’s delayed in speech 🙄 and the dr (and me and Gloria and DHs mom and my parents) was like I think he’s fine but we can do a hearing test and then go from there. So now we have a stupid dr appt when we get back so early. Oh well.
I thought of you guys for something yesterday but now I forgot why 🤦🏻♀️

Did i say J went to his first toddler time at the library? Dh took him and said he was shy but had fun. They sing, do story, craft, then play. He made me my forst art project. Im sorry i missed it but i work when it is. Dh also said j mostly just handed out toys to the others. J pulled a kids hair but in his defense the kid stole his ball. Thankfully dh apologized to the mom qho said the kid has 4 older siblings and its no big deal.

J only says about 6 or 7 words so i worry about speech too but try not too Bc he can’t understand him 🙄 and bc he points and says dadadada to things. And he doesn’t say mama and daddy anymore- he used to but now he doesn’t call out to us, but he knows what the words mean. Idk. I think he is holy overreacting. He says tons of one words. Tractor, agua (water in Spanish), leche (milk in sp), dedo (finger in sp), Friday, up, doggy, diaper, uh-oh, bus. Obviously he doesn’t have perfect pronunciation and I think that’s where dh gets confused. He’ll say doggy but it is like duh-ghee ya know? Or buh for bus. So it drives me crazy that dh doesn’t bother to read and learn before saying he thinks he’s delayed. I don’t. I mean he doesn’t do 2 words together but he babbles nonstop sometimes unless he’s in a shy situation with other people. But when he gets going he will babble. 🤷🏻♀️😒

jt2378 thanks, I agree but the dr just recommended the hearing test I think to put dh at ease and just to be sure sure. Bc she did say bad pronunciation could be bc they don’t hear well but at this age it’s probably bc he’s learning. Whatever. I told dh he could take N to the hearing appt bc it’s at 8am the day after we get back from vacation. Good luck with that one, dude.

addymac they dont really string 2 words together until closer to 2 years. Yeah J used to say mama, dada, and baba (bottle ) all the time. He rarely says dada anymore but if i tell him to take something to dada he will. He rarely says baba but we got rid of bottles and if i say go get your baba he gets his cup. So I dont think he is delayed either.

Lol have fun with that at 8:00am 🤣 One question, don’t they usually have problems with ear infections with hearing concerns? I feel like N has been fine there so another reason not to think it. Or I have no idea what I’m talking about 😂

That seems normal to me as well addymac. A never calls me mama, and only sometimes says dada. My pedi didn’t seem concerned. I’m waiting for that language explosion too. Good luck with the testing though!

I just did a week of solid parenting with three kids. I almost didn't make it! J has been sick and just wants to be held. He can't sleep without holding my hair wtf! We all camped out in the living room a few nights because I had two constantly awake. I've spent most days trying to sleep while the older two are at daycare it's freaking ridiculous.
J has freaking diarrhea because of the antibiotics he's on for his ear infection. Yesterday he exploded in the tub with his older sister it was the nastiest thing I've ever had to clean up.
