My toddler is testing my patience today. We're heading out to a bday party soon. Hope the boucy house gets him out of his funk.

Add me to the toddler testing patience..: he got sent for a nap 3 hours early today for waking up DS2 (you wake a nap, you take a nap rule) and being a general asshole all morning. He's been a beast all day, really, and being nasty to his brother. Sigh. I need more beer

Pretty busy here. We had swim lessons this morning, then another trip to the fair. Just got home and going to head out soon with LBB to movies in the park. Tonight they're showing Sing.

FIL watched the kids tonight so H and I could go out to dinner. It was nice. We went to eat there after we got married and they had a live musician playing. He was playing tonight, five years later, and we requested the song he had played for us that night. It was so sweet. butlerfan I'm sorry. I can't even imagine how awful it would be to have my in laws live with me. Ugh.

I got to do cool stuff at a sheep and wool festival on my own and my husband took the girls to his mom's and then his cousin's house and they're still not home! I'm drinking a beer and eating dinner alone. So nice to eat my own food without some little grubby toddler hands grabbing my shit.

butlerfan Is this month long visit going to be an annual/summer thing? For your sake, I hope not!

Weekend is going okay here! I tried to find an egg free choc chip cookie dough recipe to try out, but it was a bust . I still like the tollhouse recipe best - raw eggs, baking soda and all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ DS has been doing well on sleeping more at night with less wake-ups for trips to the potty, so that is a big plus! Hoping that trend continues.

H and I went to a wedding without the kids last night and had a great time. Today, we plan on taking the kids to the park to check out a small zoo and a massive playground. So, hoping for a pretty good Sunday.

Morning! I was hoping DS would sleep in a little later because we won't be home for naptime, but he was wide awake and yodeling before 6:30 again. At least he's in a good mood for now.
We're meeting our friends for breakfast soon, then we have a lunch thing to go to later for SIL. I still need to assemble my bag of tricks to keep DS entertained at lunch.

butlerfan Is this month long visit going to be an annual/summer thing? For your sake, I hope not! I'm not sure. They come up for a couple weeks at a times a couple times a year. A lot of the time they have been staying at the grandparents in town but this time here. Various projects needed to be done here and there. But the way they are going about it is wrong. Ie deck and railing needs to power washed and stained and we didn't get to it yet. MIL is saying we can't take care if the place and we have too much stuff. But if they cleaned out more areas if their stuff we would have room. I'm so sorry that I have totes of clothes and toys since we do foster care.

I hope you are able to get through each visit as it comes - definitely all the wine for you!

LBB and I got home at 10pm last night. He STILL woke up before 6 this morning. I don't mind the fact that he gets up early because he's old enough to entertain himself, but it does make him an absolute wreck by the end of the day. Even with a nap.

I swear it tastes just like cookie dough. chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/23/want-to-eat-an-entire-bowl-of-cookie-dough/

We went to the mall playplace yesterday, played in her kiddie pool, and had two serious naps. This morning we went to breakfast and played in her kiddie pool some more. After nap we are meeting some friends at the splash pad. Dinner is in the crockpot and I'm doing laundry. Super exciting!

Pool this morning and then children's museum after nap. DS is going through a weird phase where he's throwing a fit for me cooking or making coffee. Only he and Daddy can cook, no Mommy. Fine by me kid.

We bought E a water table yesterday so we've played with that a couple of times. Nothing major here. A bff of mine had her baby on Friday and we've been texting about what happened for her. She had a very similar birth experience to mine...it's uncanny. And kind of funny, because we are alike in a lot of ways already, to the point that when we worked together A LOT of students got us confused. So I'm dying to meet her LO but giving space because it's needed. I made food for her freezer on Friday to take up when we visit, hopefully next weekend!

DD2 car napped for about 15 minutes and decided that was sufficient for the day. She in turn has been a real peach today. We are hanging out at my moms because the painter was there today and the smell was giving me a headache. Nothing too exciting happening here.

We met our BFFs at a hill climb this afternoon. Their DD/our goddaughter (age 3) loved it. My chunky monkey reacted as follows: 1. The cars are loud. I hate them. 2. Hold me!! 3. Put me down!! 4. Get that ear protection off my head! 5. Let me play with all of the toys my psydeuo cousin brought. 6. Let me run around with my psydeuo cousin! 7. Crap. It's hard to walk on this hill. 8. Feed me. 9. Feed me more. 10. That car is kind of cool. 11. I'm gonna watch all the cars, ma! **giggle, giggle, clap** 12. Holy shit, that one was loud!!! **toddles frantically towards me** 13. I want to snuggle with mom. 14. **passes out and sleeps remainder of hill climb** 15. **mom sneaks ear protection on his tiny ears** Success.

He's adorable shananagins. We were rained out at the playground earlier this afternoon and made it home for lunch. Then we all took a nap. I forgot how much I enjoy an afternoon nap. My mom and inlaws are coming over for dinner in a bit to celebrate my getting a new job. Eta tag

Taitai, are you wanting to bake the cookies or just eat the cookie dough? I've made cookie dough truffles before and used an eggless recipe, I can try to find it if you're interested.

I ended up handing DS his tablet way sooner than I had planned, but we survived SIL's lunch thing and he's still in a fairly decent mood considering he didn't get his nap. He walked around the living room with a bucket over his head while I was making supper and at one point he said "uh-oh, very dark!" Of course it's dark when you have a bucket over your head, silly!

It's been a laid back, water-ful day.
I'm going away with my girlfriends this weekend, so I cleaned the car this morning and set the kids up with the watertable in the front yard so I could keep an eye on them while I did it.
We went to a local brewery for lunch. They make their own blueberry kombucha, which was incredible. I mean, their alcoholic stuff was pretty good too, but kombucha is a more interesting thing to have at a brewery.
Then we came home and I set the kids up with the sprinkler in the backyard while DH and I cleaned the house.

I am soooo mad at MH. He waits until tonight to try on the suit he hasn't worn in two years for the wedding we need to go to next Saturday. And of course it does not fit. At all. So now he needs to scramble to get a new one even though this week is jam packed. Also we have not budgeted any money for this and suits can be $$$$
Argh!
