On another note I've been hormonal and crazy lately. I want to have another kid even though I know it's completely impractical and wouldn't work well for us at all for many reasons. I finally talked to MH about it last night and he feels the same way on all accounts--wants another baby but not a good decision.

It doesn't help that apparently since I'm getting old my cycle has been changing a lot and the past few cycles before my period hits have mimicked the symptoms I've had with early pregnancy. 🙄

I'm sorry, inthekitty, though it's nice that you and your DH are on the same page. I certainly feel that way sometimes, and hormones make it so much worse.

vino - I had an early morning meeting (Calgary based, as usual) cancelled due to cold this week. First time for everything, I guess. I hope it breaks soon.

MH is draining the hot water heater. He has to leave the door cracked in order to do it and it’s 40 outside. I’m freezing my ass off. Why couldn’t he wait till next week?

inthekitty that is tough and I agree hormones are nutty. I think it's good that you talked to your h and you are on the same page, so now you can have a dialogue open and if it persists for both of you, you can figure out how you can swing it.

We both felt that way and we are doing it and I'm pretty anxious about how it's going to pan out logistically and financially, hoping to get back to being excited soon.

I really dont mind the snow and cold when it’s-10-15C because then we can at least be outside doing stuff, but this cold when it’s dangerous and for this amount of time is a no go from this cat.

Right you are! It was -25 last week at her place last week. This week is better, she’s still done with the snow after 4 months of it 😂😂😂.

We are waiting for Chinese delivery and watching Hitch, I liked this movie so much. It is interrupted only by the sound of the buzzing tweezers while the kids play Operation in the next room. That noise makes me grit my teeth every. time.

We finally bought a sofa. We have to special order the love seat because I don't like the look of the console in the middle, so it will be the end of March before its delivered. Adult decisions were made.

inthekitty Not sure if it was hormones or what but I kind of got itchy for a third this week. DH made a comment about the day when we don't have any sippy cups around anymore (or something) and then I had a conversation with my sister later and got a little wistful.

DH is quite happy with our two and we have given everything away (not that that would be a decision-driver, just that psychologically I think we both felt 'done'). I think my wistfulness stems from the long-term idea of a large family of grown kids/grands, moreso than a *baby*...if that makes sense? DH's schedule the next few years will be brutal, plus we don't want to extend the timeline too much in terms of how old we'll be when the kids graduate high school/college/etc. So all this is to say that there will always be a little part of me that thinks, "What if?", but it doesn't necessarily make sense. We haven't done anything permanent, so never say never, but I don't think it will happen as of today.

ETA: although now that I’ve seen this maternity shoot, I may want a third just to recreate it 🤣

Date night was a success. We tried a "new" place that's an old place under new management. It was weird but we had lots of nice conversation and the kids were sleeping by the time we got home. Now maybe I'll have another drink to get the courage to DtD if DH comes up at the same time as me. I've been too scared since my fall, afraid of doing something to make it worse. Poor DH...

I’m also annoyed by the amount of free time Mh gets lately. He is a state away and all, but man must be nice.
