Hi! It was a busy week at work this week but the new hire is amazing and is already working on her own with others just checking her work. So a complete 180 from the last girl. DH had to work today and will have put in 80+ hours by the end of his shift so I'm solo parenting while trying to get the house ready for a going away party my parents are having for their friends. Thank goodness N is currently happy snuggled up on the couch with my iPad and his snacks......nvm the iPad just died... meltdown central. V's tablet also powered down this morning. He was watching a you tube video of Danish children playing at an indoor playground. It was the worst thing that's ever happened to him.

Wow! What a day around here! lahdeedah!!!!!!!!! So excited for you, and I love the name. Good luck today! Cher hope all is well with C. I fell off my trike into the pool at about this age...fortunately my dad was right there doing yard work and jumped in. That is one of the most vivid memories of my childhood. Glad you have a call in, with the stories of 'dry drowning' lately, you can't be too careful.

I took B on a donut run this morning and my dad just took him out on some errands. My parents have some acquaintances in the area on vacation, so they are coming over for dinner tonight. Just realized that the man and my parents' dog have the same name π

The pedi basically said he sounds fine. She asked me a few questions about his color and coughing. Watch for strange behavior, vomiting, fever, etc. and take him to the hospital. She also said "I'm sure you're seeing the dry drowning articles online. It's a lot of nonsense. If he acts differently, you go to the hospital, but don't drive yourself crazy every time he goes underwater." Have to love a blunt NY doctor.
So, he's acting totally fine. I'm going to keep an eye on him but he's already forgot about it.

Morning! DH bought me flowers and donuts this morning just because. This is a first for him. He's out golfing with his dad and I'm home with the girls. I work this afternoon so MIL will be coming to watch them until DH is home.

And wineallthetime it doesn't make you a bad mom. I grew up with a pool and going down the shore every summer. It was inevitable that my siblings, pets, myself, etc. all had at least one water "incident". It's why I started C at swim lessons at 4 months, because I figured if he was going to be around water that much, he needed to have some basic skills. I was happy my stepdad told me he treaded for a few seconds. But it happens, it doesn't make you a bad mom.

Chee, hope he's ok! We have had 2 water scares. Both while I was right next to C. Basically MOTY over here! When kids are around water it happens. Like Cher said if your around it a lot it's going to happen.

I'm going to keep an eye on him but he's already forgot about it. This. Dry drowning has been all over the news here, and it being as people are panicking. For a "dry drowning" to occur you have to actually aspirated water, not swallow it. Basically if someone comes out of the water in actual distress, where they've inhaled water into their lungs, you would Know and that's when you need to keep an eye on it. And obviously watch for symptoms such as poor coloring, raspy breathing etc. for a period after they come Out of the water. I'll see if I can find the article I read. And I'm saying this as someone who was panicking a little at first about all the dry drowning stuff. I have the kids learning to swim who I'm pretty sure drink half the pool each time we are in! Cher, I'm glad he's ok and not shaken up. It's scary as shit when they fall in Ecuador you realize just how quick it can happen. Thank goodness your stepdad was there and reacted quickly!

When I was in kindergarten I was in Hawaii at the beach with my grandma. I went to far out and couldn't swim back. Luckily I was saved by a lifeguard. I didn't hold it against my grandma. When I was a teenage I found out my grandma didn't know how to swim at all. So now I judge my parents for letting my grandma take me swimming at the beach alone.

xolastunicornxo I actually said as much to the pedi. I lifeguarded for years and I know how rare those occurrences are and how it almost always follows a near drowning event. But I said to her "the mom in me still had to call you." She was like "I know. Don't make yourself crazy." I'm obviously attracted to doctors that tell me to chill out. ππ

Registered at the hospital. Waiting for someone to come get me to take me upstairs to labor and delivery. This is so different from my hospital in FL. Contractions the same. Starting to intensify and I can feel it in my back now. I hope I'm at least at a 6... I'm ready to get it over with!

wineallthetime on Monday afternoon I took both girls to a wading pool. H was doing great on her own so I was mostly watching S. A couple of times I looked away from S to watch H, S slipped and fell in the water. It happens with little kids.

There is a cut in the outer ear that keeps opening up causing the bleeding. He's giving me drops to speed up the healing that also has antibiotics so it doesn't get infected. He says it's going to "itch like hell" for the next few days. I'm just suppose to take Tylenol for the pain. Apparently it got cut at a point that is tied to multiple things that's why it hurts to move my neck, swallow and to touch.

It wasn't urgent care just a regular appointment. They opened at 900 which was my appointment time. I got there at 830 in hopes of getting checked in and ready to go since I had a feeling it would be a two minute visit with the doctor. Which it was. Thank god my eardrum is fine.

A couple of times I looked away from S to watch H, S slipped and fell in the water. It happens with little kids. This was one of my times. I was with C in a zero entry pool and we were shallow. I looked back at MH and C slipped and went under. A lifeguard actually grabbed him. My other time is worse. We were at my parents cottage 2 years ago throwing rocks in the water. He was doing great so I took my hands off him. He threw a rock and went head first over the breakwall (about 4 feet). There are a ton of huge rocks right there but luckily he didn't hit his head and was fine. The whole time I kept thinking "Omg, we are in the middle of nowhere. It will take forever for an ambulance to get here and who knows what kind of medical care he will get after that" Kids are scary, man.
