Finally got our taxes done, and we usually have to pay. This year we get a refund! So that's a plus. I've been so stressed about it that I can't even let go yet. Still stressed somehow.
I'm getting baby brain. I've been writing checks wrong, addressing stuff wrong, missing appointments, missing the point... everything. I need a break.

@starzia, I agree on the appts! I actually ended up skipping one bc we stayed out of town longer than expected- I never would have done that with my first. At least my next 2 appts are more exciting (gd test and then an ultrasound) and it helps that my office doesn’t make us pee in a cup every time anymore.

I need to get all my tax stuff organized this weekend. I think I’ve finally gotten all of my 1099s, so it’s time to get to work on that.
It’s been hard to get used to so few appointments for me! For the FET I had monitoring before the transfer, then blood draws every few days, then ultrasounds every 2 weeks until I was released to the OB. So when the OB said “see you in a month” The first time, I was like WHAT? Don’t you need to check the THINGS? As everything has gone normally though, it’s been nice to not have to schedule so many appointments.

Same here with the doctors appointments! Last time waiting a month between appointments was so scary but this time I feel like it's almost not necessary. And I was so shocked when she said it's time to start my two week appointments now. It's too early!

At my appointment yesterday my doctor asked if I was leaning toward having a RCS and if I would want to go ahead and schedule it. She suggested scheduling it at 39 weeks so I am now scheduled for a c section on May 2! Which means the baby will be here in 12 weeks at the most. So crazy.

sunny75, That's crazy! And exciting! My OB seems to think she wants me to do a VBAC, and hasn't really talked about it with me since I asked really early. I kind of wish she gave me a bit more of a choice in the matter. And add me to the list of tired of the appointments. I have one more month until we start going in every two weeks, and I'm already exhausted thinking about it. The Dr. accidentally ordered a 24 hour urine catch for high blood pressure on top of the bloodwork, and when the lab tech told me that I'd have to come back tomorrow, I believe my initial reaction was 'No, I'm not coming back.' I felt bad and quickly said I'd do whatever the Dr. asked. It's been a long week.

@starzia, I've thought the same thing a couple of times - especially if the OB appt. is close to the MFM appt., like is the OB apt necessary? But it never fails that any concerns or questions come up in between appts and then I panic and want to be seen - but day of the appt, no worries. Thankfully the OB is close - sorry yours is so far away.

We’re flying back to our hometown on March for a baby shower. The friend who is planning just sent out the evites last night. I’m excited! I’m not normally big on showers, but after waiting so long I can’t wait to celebrate the baby with all of our family and friends!

The air has been so dry lately. I tried to take a nap this afternoon, but ended up with a bloody nose. Every time I try to lie down, it starts up again. At least I’ve been able to read and cuddle with the cat, so I’ve gotten some relaxing, but I could have used the nap.

bonzo,I'm not big on showers either but having everyone get together to celebrate a baby we had waited so long for was one of my favorite pregnancy memories the first time around for me. I hope you have a great time at your shower!

The flu is just now hitting my area hard and it's been so rough. We're so short staffed at my hospital I've had to pick up extra shifts and it's killing me lol. I'm also so terrified I'm going to pick up the flu at work and get me or DD sick. Ugh.

bonzo, that sounds awful. We’re having a hard time with the dry air here too. DS’s face is especially sensitive to it and he looks so awful from it. Thankfully he doesn’t seem bothered by it, but I keep worrying about how red it is and slathering more cream on.

mamabear02, the skin on my hands has gotten really dry too! I feel like I can’t keep up with the lotion.

I have a big test running at work. I knew a PR team was going to come by to get pics, but I assumed it would be more of the test article. When they showed up they took a bunch of me while I was talking. We were in a really cold control room, and I never bough a pregnancy coat, so I was wearing a jacket that was too short, and messy. I have no idea if these pics will get used for anything, but now there are pics of me looking sloppy with ill fitted clothes. I wish I had thought to take my jacket off, so at least you could tell I was pregnant, and not just wearing poorly fitted clothes.
Oh well, I am guessing they won't really show up anywhere anyways.

My hands are also really dry, and lotion does not seem to be helping. I probably need to be better about putting it on. I will take it over high humidity any day though, especially when pregnant!

I had my OB appt. on Friday and showed up with a notebook of questions. We're pretty sure this is our final baby and since she's recommending a repeat C-section we discussed having my tubes tied. There's a history of ovarian cancer in my family and have a tubal reduces the chances so I guess it makes sense. After all those years of trying to get pregnant to switch gears over to permanent birth control is just kind of weird.
Wednesday is my anatomy scan and it's supposed to snow (for the 49th time) so DH will likely have to work. My elderly mom won't want to go out in the snow and I'm debating if I should ask my MIL to join me or just go alone.

bearfootzcontinued I have my follow up from my AS booked for Thursday but we're supposed to get snow and ice here too on Wednesday/Thursday. They cancelled my appointment last week due to an ice storm (luckily my AS was the day before) so I'm hoping it doesn't get cancelled this time! Hopefully you don't end up getting too much snow and are able to get to your appointment without any trouble!

So I had my anatomy scan on Wednesday and for some reason it was very painful. I'm not sure if it's because I'm heavier that she had to push so hard or what. I mentioned it to the tech because it took my breath away and she had me turn on my side so she could get a better angle and it was still quite sensitive, she was pushing pretty hard on my lower right abdomen. When the MFM came in he took a look too but pretty much had the wand or whatever it's called over my belly button and that didn't hurt at all. Two days later and I still feel super sore and bruised on the right side.
I don't remember ever having this with an ultrasound before, is this normal?

bearfootzcontinued, at 18 weeks they were pushing pretty hard and jiggling my belly to get the baby to move around into position. It hurt and was sore for a day or two. I think some techs are pretty aggressive, and I do have a bit of padding to fight through on my belly.

bearfootzcontinued When I was earlier...like around 11 weeks...they pushed a bit...but not at my AS. Baby was moving like crazy though so maybe that's why? If baby wasn't moving much maybe they had to dig a little to get what they needed?

bearfootzcontinued, at my AS, baby was sleepy and head down, so the tech did prod him some to get him to move. It was uncomfortable in the moment, but not so much that I was sore the next day.

She did a little shaking if she needed baby to move but baby was usually pretty active - this was like pressing down just to get the views, but I'm guessing because of the extra layers of fat. Oh well, I survived, it was just shockingly sore for a few days.

Ugh, heartburn has taken over and I’m miserable. I’ve taken some Zantac- but need more tips because it’s not really knocking it out. I have been so uncomfortable the past couple days. Heartburn hit much later and was much more mild with my first and I don’t tend to have it outside of pregnancy so I’m lost.

mamabear02, I started tracking what foods aggravated the heartburn more, so for me I’ve stopped eating citrus or drinking anything carbonated. Eating almonds is also supposed to help, and they’re a healthy snack so bonus! I also noticed it took a coup,e days of taking Zantac every day to really feel like it was making a difference. I hope your heartburn gets better!

I seem to have lost control over my emotions. I just had a meeting with one of my bosses and while he's not the one to do my review he said he wanted to give me some feedback. He said overall I've been doing a great job but that when I run our monthly meetings I sound "nervous as hell". Silly me, I thought they'd been going well. He suggested that I sign up for public speaking courses after my "break". I could feel myself blush and came this close to tearing up. WTF? I need to be able to handle some criticism without crying. I am so mad at myself right now.

bearfootzcontinued, I’m sorry that happened- if it makes you feel any better I probably would break down if I had to handle any criticism right now too. I’m a mess.

Has anybody else ever told you to work on your public speaking skills?

I take it in the morning to get me through the day and then before bed. And then I pretty much carry tums around with me at all times. Hopefully you can figure out if any foods are making it worse. For me it really doesn't make a difference what I eat.
