It’s been a long day. I didn’t have many meetings today but ended up on the phone with people most of the day. Trying to finalize some of our programs for the beginning of the year and it’s exhausting. The kids were so nice and calm this evening, even played together for a long time. V got an insane amount of Peppa Pig toys for Christmas and they are a huge hit with both kids - and bonus G tries a cute little British accent 😂 I am going to bed soon so I can go to an early Orange Theory class and then my weekly nutritionist appointment! Hi karadee!! S has many words that have a cute little British accent thanks to Peppa. Specifically, Daddy. But several others too! I love all the Peppa-isms we have adopted in our house. Dude always asks if we are going to do something straightaway. And flashlights are torches.

Well. Poppy is barking like a seal, so I guess we’re dealing with our first case of croup. Oh no! Poor girl and poor Mom

Sorry about the EI, tgrimes. I’m glad you took her in. The social worker confirmed our visit for tomorrow afternoon, so here’s what tomorrow looks like: 5 am- yoga 6 am - shower, finish packing lunches (two for X since one goes to therapy) 7 am- work 8:30 - call with Director at OT’s therapy center (same time as my work conference call) 9 - 11:30 - X therapy Noon - visit from SW 1:30 - X naps, I’ll try to do some work 3 pm - conference call with my instructor 3:30 pm -finish work I’m supposed to accomplish all of this while Poppy is home sick, too. Any chance I can clone myself before morning?

They can’t do much, from what I gather. She has thrown up a few times and has a low fever with those puffy, sick eyes but it’s not too concerning ATM.

If she’s struggling to breath they will do a steroid treatment but otherwise you treat it like a cold. Cold air helps open the airways so if you notice any issues with her breathing take her outside or put her head in the freezer. I hope it’s mild and she’s feeling better soon.

This is happening in our house right now. Too cold outside for the dogs so we brought them in. The hound dog is in too but he is in a crate. He can’t be trusted to roam at large. Please pray that we make it through the night with minimal disruptions!

H was on steroids and the pedi told us to alternate between the steamy shower and standing in front of the freezer. I hope she gets over it quickly.

flamingo her preschool teacher used to talk in Spanish, but as far as intro to actual words, the all been me. Mostly animals, numbers, and commands. My extended family also speaks Spanish the majority of the time. I feel like once she starts at school I'll use it more at home.

klong11 Has she had any exposure to Spanish in school up until now? If so, what does she think? Based on our experience so far I would be inclined to apply. B started Spanish last year and loves it; his assistant teacher this year is also the Spanish teacher so she practices with them at lunch and during downtime. We are specifically targeting a couple schools in FL that offer it in elementary b/c he enjoys it so much and I don't want him to 'lose' what he's learned already. As someone said it's probably easier to apply now and change your mind later than the opposite so I'd at least put in the application while you weigh your options. That’s great that he likes it. Spanish is one of M’s enrichments this year and it’s his least favorite.

Pretty sure I’m just going to say eff it and quit at the end of this year. Now, how I’ll manage until then is really anyone’s guess.

Thanks, trtlcrzy tgrimes. What we have outside definitely wouldn’t qualify as cool or cold, but we’re getting the humidifier setup in her room now. I never would have thought about the freezer but that’s good to know, thank you!

One of Cs friends got him a present. It was a surprise ball thing and wrapped, so clearly her parents bought it and helped. It’s a bit weird to me. If C asked to buy a friend a gift I would say no. I know it’s not super expensive but still odd. She didn’t get anything for anyone else. Did he get the kissy letter? Is it the same person? Honestly, I could see E asking to do the same thing for someone in his class. He asks to buy flowers whenever we pass that section Kissy letter came from another girl.
