It's been awhile since I live blogged something. I am not nearly as good at it as our regulars.

Even just trying to figure out what he was saying to come up with a synopsis was hard. At least SHS uses complete sentences. She's a lying tool, but can use her words.

So, when he does the National Emergency route in 3 weeks, I think we’re going to see some more republicans breaking rank. Call me naive but I think that’ll be a bridge too far for some of them. I hope so.

He's just promised he will either shut down the government or use executive order to get his wall if something isn't worked out by February 15th. Oh. Goodie.

Not good unless someone can get some sense into his head through the helmet he wears, but I don't know who that would be. He's obviously not going to listen to Speaker Pelosi (because uterus) and no one in the GOP has the balls.

I see a lot of “if what you are describing is really happening and it’s really a national emergency why can you wait 3 weeks before calling a national emergency”

I see a lot of “if what you are describing is really happening and it’s really a national emergency why can you wait 3 weeks before calling a national emergency” He's an idiot. It's not an emergency and even he knows it. I hate the person who put the idea in his head to begin with.

Who wants to guess we will have a large group of people prep and send out resumes because of this shit. If they haven't done so already. Because no one needs the stress of not knowing if their lives are going to go to shit AGAIN in another three weeks. My god, this entire thing is fucked up.

I'm betting my family member who works for the government retires in the next three weeks. She is eligible, but says she is too young to quit working (60~ish). I'm guessing she jumps ship now and finds something in the private sector to do for as long as she wants to work.

Maybe not tomorrow or in the next few weeks, but in a month or two when they finally hear back from and go through the interview process.

The air traffic controllers rep said 40% of employees in the ny area are eligible for retirement and it’s about 20 nationally. Plus they are unable to fill positions open. All this bullshit isn’t going to help that

All this bullshit isn’t going to help that I was listening to NPR this morning and their union rep was talking about how the training programs have all been shutdown with the shutdown and so they can't even train new people. This is just crazy.

She does research that could really benefit the environment, but I can't fault her for wanting out. ATC quite literally keep people alive and safe. I can't fault them either.

Well this seems ill-advised. They're running hard with this "Who framed Roget Stone"/Witch hunt/dirty cops narrative. He has to go out there and play the Martyr to maintain the spectacle

And this is exactly what Democrats needed to stay strong. If they gave into this, people’s pay checks would be a bargaining chip every year.

Hi...so I was MIA earlier because I was at an event answering HR-related questions for our employees. We’ve done it every week we’ve been furloughed. Towards the end is when the news hit that an announcement was coming, and then when I heard Rose Garden I was relieved bc that’s where they do the good news announcements.
I’m grateful for this CR for all the reasons I explained the other day. I don’t even care that it’s temporary. Let’s get people paid. Let me onboard my interns so that if we shutdown again they are eligible for backpay and continued benefits. Let me have a chance to remind myself of why I work where I work.
I’m still looking for another job, but I don’t feel as much pressure and I don’t feel I need to settle for the first thing that comes along.
I’m thankful for this community and how sweet and thoughtful y’all have been during this. I get to tell DD1 that she still gets her braces!
And, after the votes are out I’m reconciling who voted No on the CR yesterday with who votes Yes on the CR today, and they will all be getting some sort of a snarky email/letter from me, seeing as how they are all spineless sheep who waited for Trump to give them permission to vote a certain way.
Love y’all!

FFFC: I really want to listen to rush Limbaugh on Monday to see how he interprets it. Fifty bucks says there’s a guest host.
SOMETIMES I TUNE IN TO SEE HOW THE OTHER SIDE THINKS, OKAY. I usually don’t make it to the first commercial.
