Ah first time mom's.. I picked out some silly stuff too. It's part of the process. I found my notebook from when I was pregnant with j and I remembered that I did birth hypnosis lessons😂. Lol. File that under a waste of money.

OMG y'all. My SIL sent me her registry to look over. Everything is so expensive. She has a diaper changing pad for $130. Her infant car seat is $400 at PBK. Does the changing pad change the diaper for you??? I cringed at $30 for mine.

xolastunicornxo wants y'all to know she is okay. She's with her mom at the hospital and she will be back to update us later.

Also Team Eyeroll at some of the registries I see nowadays. The crazy isn't limited to babies, though--I see it with bridal registries, too. We had just gotten married a year before I got pregnant, so I didn't want to appear greedy with our baby registry after all the wedding gifts. I didn't put anything on mine that I wouldn't buy myself (so no $800 stroller ) I think you have to know your audience, too... our extended family and friends are all pretty comfortable and typically give lovely gifts but none of them would pull the trigger on some of this stuff, so no reason to add it. If you are super wealthy and so is most of your gift-giving set, then I guess knock yourself out? eta: but be prepared b/c it's still going to get pooped and puked on.

No to baseball for us too, flamingo. I'd be all about it but C really loves the running aspect of sports, so we will do soccer again! I feel like swim and soccer are his jam. He would looove the class that C does, wedding. Ninja warrior or something. I've only seen it here at one place and it was over our budget.

DH wishes B were more into soccer, b/c he played through college and loves it. B has only played it one season (when he was 3) so I may try him again in the fall. Baseball was just a hot mess of people (not joking when I say I think meth was being made in a couple of those households) and the 2x/week practices PLUS games about killed me. Golf is 1 lesson/week, on weekdays after school, so no affecting dinner or weekends. This is my kind of activity.

Soccer was once a week for an hour. 30min practice followed immediately by 30min game. Perfect!

I was just looking up baseball for B and it's a couple weekday evenings a week, about and about a 20 minute drive away. Between soccer, golf and swimming I'm not sure we can make it work. But damn I really, really, love baseball and would love to be a part of it.

Sitting in the Starbucks parking lot enjoying a latte while the kids polish off some cake pops. The pediatricians’ office wasn’t busy, and we were in and out in no time. Unfortunately, they diagnosed Charlie with a sinus infection, so he is on azithromycin for the next 5 days. Poor kid— that stuff tastes awful! That's what S is on. He was freaking out about trying to take it this morning. I got the does in yesterday but today he wanted nothing to do with it. I got almost all in and then he just lost it. We ended up mixing it with water and having him drink it that way, so it sort of tasted like fruit punch (I took a small sip). But that was 1 oz. I'm not sure how I will get him to drink 4.5 oz tomorrow! Anyone have any advice?

S starts T Ball in the spring. I think it's one evening a week and a saturday game. He liked Soccer ok, we will probably do that in the fall again. He has been asking to do karate, so I think we might try that. I, too, think he would enjoy the ninja classes that wedding's C does, but I've only found them mid day, mid week around here.

Mh won't push a sport on him...but we both know he'd be heartbroken if he didn't play baseball.

We told ds that after he has his swim diploma, he can choose whatever he wants. At this point he says he want to join the Boy Scouts 🤷🏼♀️.

Could you have a race or something (convince him you're drinking some, too?) to see who can down it the fastest? My uber-competitive kids would enjoy that. Honestly, barring that I'd probably just resort to a bribe. "I know this stuff is gross but it's going to help you feel better...if you can take this medicine for the week without a big fuss, we'll go to Target and pick something out (or go do X)".

Try to use a small amount of those things in case they don't eat/drink it all. I have been known to sit on both of my kids and force it down, too.

Just to be a bitch I would only buy her diapers. But, at the same time that's also a sensible gift. None of her friends will be able to afford some of this shit on her list. After everything I've given her over the last month, I doubt I'll buy her anything over $20. I've literally given her $500-700 in items already. If I had a baby right now I would buy diapers, formula, a couple of onesies and a RNP. That's it. They don't need anything else until they are a big bigger. Then instead of a baby shower I'll have a half birthday at 6 months and get all the crap then, when they can actually start using it.
ETA: oh and I guess a car seat too.

jewels we put stuff like antibiotics in a syringe and let them choose a piece of candy/yoghurt/fruit for directly after. Somehow even ds with all of his feeding issues senses that this is a non negotiable and accepts this.

She did A LOT of research and her car seat and stroller are the lightest & highest rated ones. And since they're wanting to do a lot of traveling, she'll need them to be light. I'm a bitch and told her I hoped she had a unicorn baby that enjoys all that traveling. I'm holding back a bunch of "just you wait" comments. Since when does pbk sell carseats? I just did a google search and if it’s the nuna, the graco car seat is less than a pound heavier.

Putting a bunch of expensive stuff that no one can afford on your registry leads to a lot of baby clothes I bet.

I need to look up golf lessons for M. He would love that. The problem I have is getting him to lessons since I work past 5. It worked out well last year that we had one practice at 545 on Friday and the game on Saturday morning. I hope the schedule works like that again this year. 🤞🏽

Putting a bunch of expensive stuff that no one can afford on your registry leads to a lot of baby clothes I bet. This is what I told my SIL. She was like, "Well I don't want clothes!" (I think b/c she's been buying them along and along herself). I told her she'd better add some things in a more reasonable/practical price point. When I was shopping last week I noticed that a lot of her registry stuff hadn't been purchased yet, but I checked again today and saw she'd added some smaller/more reasonably priced items and lo and behold, guess what was being bought! LOL.

I’m sure SIL expects her to buy it but MIL is the one feeding into her.
