New month, new year. Who's here?

I hope I can still hang out here a bit. We're out of embryos and need to decide what to do. Next week I'll call to schedule a follow up with our RE but H and I need to discuss it first.
I'm leaning towards an ERA and then another IVF cycle (maybe with a different protocol in hopes to get more eggs?). H's company upped their fertility coverage this year so some of this second IVF would be covered.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected in the new year. AFM, H and I have some big life things on the horizon that we're focused on and it feels really good to be focused on something that isn't our IF journey.

Hi charliefox! I’m here. I’m waiting for my first regular cycle after my miscarriage and then it’s back to the RE. So we’re hoping if all goes well we can transfer our last little embryo in February. Part of me is looking forward to trying again and part of me is terrified. IF is the worst. I’m so jealous of your insurance coverage! Keep us posted on your plan. I’m always rooting for you.

I think we are giving up on IVF and taking the genetic gamble... which makes me hugely nervous and anxious, but honestly we are out of options $-wise. H got laid off right before thanksgiving and because no one cared about hiring before the holidays, he’s still looking. We did have a grant to help but it still left us paying something like $12-15k OOP, and the lay-off has been diminishing our savings. 😖
I’m going to duck out for now, but will pop in and comment when I can! Wishing all of you the best of luck!!

I think I go here now. I was semi active on TTGP for the past 6 ish months, but “graduated” to IVF orientation at my RE’s office this week after another sucky injectables cycle. The current plan is to do the office’s orientation next week, then pre-testing, then wait because I’m running a half marathon in 5 weeks, then go. I won’t be on an active cycle for a month, but is it okay if I lurk here while we get this party started?

So I guess I go go go here now! IVF orientation at my RE's office was yesterday and we are on track for stims starting the end of this week, target retrieval for week of 2/10, freeze all, then potentially transfer in the first week or two of March depending on my body. I also am going to do my sono on Friday, then mock transfer on Monday. I'm only somewhat freaking out. Mostly at the prospect of the bill we will get in March for all of this. Also I haven't had to do progesterone shots yet, just gonadatropins and HCG and Crinone. That PIO needle looks big! Freakout somewhat over, for now

The bills freaked me out too. I got good advice to just go in knowing it’s going to be expensive and not dwell on it. Do you have any coverage? I’m 100% OOP. Keep us posted. Im rooting for you.

I’m currently at CD5. This is my first regular cycle after MC. I reached out to my RE and she’s wants me to do another saline sonohystogram so I scheduled that for Monday. I’m going through my gyno office so it will be covered by insurance. Normally they like to do the procedure CD 7-9 but they couldn’t get me in in time. They tried to make me wait until next cycle but I didn’t want this to push everything back. So I’m lucky they agreed to CD11. Last time I had this procedure I didn’t have a good experience so hoping this one goes better.

@champagane thanks. I’m very very very lucky to have some coverage. The problem seems to be that the way my plan works, no pre-auth is required. However, they also won’t let me know what is covered until after claims are submitted and they’re denied or not. It has happened before with some testing and other procedures and the bills suck. The RE’s office and I have both gone back and forth to get some sort of guesstimate from them as to what they’re actually going to cover and consider medically necessary or not, and still aren’t sure. So, RE is ready to fight and appeal for us if it should come to that. And I’m just going to try to keep myself calm and repeat to myself “this is what we have been saving for.” Meanwhile DH says “if it is all OOP anyways, let’s do all the tests to make sure this works!” 🤦🏼♀️
Also, I made some “healthy” buckeyes last weekend and had three for dessert last night. That helped too.
ETA: good luck on Monday! I hope it goes well and better for you than your last experience.

Wow sharebear that’s frustrating. I hate insurance companies. Good choice to have some buckeyes last night.

Vent sesh: I think I missed the part of IVF orientation where I get a period in between stopping the pill and starting stims. I've never been on the pill before, and it kind of makes sense. But it just doesn't seem fair. This is my third CD1 in 32 days.

*****TW***** Unfortunately I'm back missed miscarriage just after 8 weeks, went to emerge with bleeding at what should have been 10+4 and ended up going for an emergency d&c. I'm back to feeling normal physically, just a little down that I can't seem to stay pregnant now when it wasn't a problem before. End TW**** I'm trying to lose 15lbs now while I wait for our next cycle. Waiting to hear from the doctor what they want to do for the next cycle, hopefully they will actually monitor things. This will be the last try since there is only one embryo left. I think we have to wait one full cycle and then hysteroscopy and then we're good to go.

wineandcake I’m so very very sorry. Sending you and your family hugs. It’s not your fault. Your protocol is similar to mine. I just had my sonohystogram last week and everything was normal. I think several of us are on to our last embryo. I hope this is it for all of us.
